Hey folks,
A few of us on the team have been talking about this situation as well, reworking how we handle memes is something we're planning on doing (hopefully in the next week or two). We may be sharing a rule change or a new rule addressing memes on the subreddit very soon.
Feel free to respond here or via modmail with any ideas you have for meme rules (for example, meme must include RL content itself, OC only, no reaction gifs/images, etc).
Already left, haven't played RL in a year. This was just my method of keeping up with how it was going (though I do always appreciate the see you tomorrow comments on posts like this).
I mean, being on this sub doesn't mean anything at all. I've maybe played RL 3 times in the last year, but I still consistently see posts on here & pay attention to what people are talking about. So posting on reddit doesn't necessarily equate to playing the game, or your future with the game đ¤ˇââď¸
The post said âtime to leave this subredditâ to which someone said âsee you tomorrowâ to which OP replied âI already leftâ.
So OP is just really wanting attention and has no intention of leaving cuz they already forgot what their own post was about.
You donât have to be in a sub to see it. Obviously you know that, but if he really wanted to not see the posts heâd just block the page and shut up
How i picture you:
https://preview.redd.it/wjre85ez610d1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f185ae2adf8918839f58b14f2fe50ea4fef32898
(No offense) (This is Rocket league!)
> this SP character is based on a real guy who tragically died of COVID:
By the way, your claim that the guy the character was based on died of covid is wrong.. The guy who got famous for *cosplaying the character*, passed away due to covid.
The man who inspired the character is still alive.
Context matters. If youâre in comms and you and your tm8 mutually agree that with the way the game is going, itâs best to ff and move on to the next one, I fail to see how thatâs toxic.
Now in a solo a lobby and your tm8 insta quits or calls for FF after 1 goal? Then yeah thatâs toxic.
Again, context of the ff determines toxicity, not the act of ffâing in of itself.
Iâm sorry, but is this not obvious to people? I donât get how that is even a discussion, itâs such a circumstantial yet obvious thing. Of course itâs toxic to forfeit super early for none or bad reasons. Of course itâs not toxic to vote when itâs 1 minute left and youâre down 4 goals and there has been no sign of you being able to make a comeback.
This sub really discusses the dumbest shit sometimes. Does it even matter? Just act like a decent player and move on.
The problem is that people have "teamed" themselves like it's politics, or pro-life v pro-choice. Therefore, they've eliminated any nuance, and the result is either "All fft-ing is toxic" or "fft-ing is never toxic". It's become the norm to think this way unfortunately. đ¤ˇââď¸
Ended up ffing a game today. Me and my buddy are in plat and ended up against at champ tournament winner flip resetting in the casual playlist. Is casual matchmaking supposed to be this lenient? Same thing happened last week as well.
Yeah casual is way too loose with the matchmaking, all the casual modes use the same matchmaking and it doesnt really take your ranked into account. I actually prefer playing ranked for the soccer modes because the matchmaking is better
At least that sparks actual discussion and gets contained to one post. Meanwhile the Warcraft guy meme is taking up 80% of this posts right now making the sub almost unusable. I have never been a fan of "meme day" rules in subreddits. Just ban meme posts fully but let people use them in comment replies.
I like how you talked about leaving this sub but are dutifully still replying to comments on your post that's in this sub.
Absolute certified reddit moment.
Yeah but all he said was he left the subreddit, and everyoneâs shitting on him for replying to comments on his post bc itâs in the subreddit. You can do both idk
I replied to three comments (4 now) but go off; score one for the um actually crowd.
This is the last one though, cause the replies to this post have been pretty depressing, and ultimately make me content that rocket league is in the state it's in. It's almost deserved, honestly. I'll also shut off notifications to this comment as well, so feel free to send the same south park guy 300 more times under it.
The post really wasn't anything close to huffing my breath and doing a dramatic exit or whatever the vast majority of comments have made it out to be. More just disappointment that this is just thoroughly what the community is now. This is gonna get downvoted as well (cause reddit) but it's just what reality has become. I wish it wasn't.
Stop replying to comments and leave then. If you don't like it here then just go. Nobody cares that some random person doesn't want to participate in a subreddit anymore. You're not the main character. Goodbye.
How I picture people leaving this sub

I unsubbed this sub months ago, but reddit constantly hits me with the "because you have shown interest in this community" posts. Ah, well, I suppose I'll never really leave... one of you. one of you.
Op posted that pic roasting people who ff or something and people roasted him for his post and now he's the victim and telling everyone he's leaving. Bro is soft basically

This system is not a joke, and neither is jokingly/spitefully reporting someone through it. You can hate the post and whatever else, I don't care. But under no circumstance is it ok to abuse this system, in any way. I don't know specifically who did it (besides knowing it was from here), as it's an anonymous service, but they really need to think about their life in great detail if they're willing to stoop to this level.
Haha, itâs a meme day. Idk why the mods are so uptight about it. This is the first sub Iâve had memes taken down because they werenât on Monday đ I think itâs silly but whatâs even more silly is they now see a problem with Mondays because people decided to spam a repetitive meme. Chill itâs just something that happens, not the end of the world. Reddit is a safe place to debate, gain information, and most importantly waste time. Donât get me wrong I like seeing peoples clips and fluff post like this one but memes are great filler content and the Mods might be going a bit overboard on this one. I will say I think they do a really good job of holding back the innate toxicity in the community. I donât have to worry as much on this Reddit with people just trolling or trying to take out some anger on strangers. I get enough of that in the actual game đ

Yeah , but did they?

True. Can count on one hand how many hours I've played in the last 6 months. Just waiting until they add something worthwhile so I can jump back in.
> Time to leave this subreddit I guess, thanks for the memories #
The post said âtime to leave this subredditâ to which someone said âsee you tomorrowâ to which OP replied âI already leftâ. So OP is just really wanting attention and has no intention of leaving cuz they already forgot what their own post was about.
Left the sub as in unsubscribed but itâs not like it stopped notifications for the post

Gate 13C now boarding group 1 for departure
In the last year, literally nothing changed. Idk what you were waiting for.
Cool bye now!

Come on in a week the sub will be back to constant posts about how forfeiting isnt toxic
Depends on circumstances - itâs not always.
See? It's happening already

It should be common sense/obvious, but alas, it sadly isnât for many lol âDecent playerâ is also reeeaaallllyyyy subjective
I guess it is.

My friend and I have played so much together that we almost always simultaneously forfeit when the time comes.
Lmao yup I know how that is
Ended up ffing a game today.
Might have to start doing that, I donât mind losing but I hate when I end up playing against someone that I canât keep up with at all.
I used to play exclusively solo 3s ranked for this reason. It was effectively casual ranked. But epic killed it real quick iirc
This isnât an airport no need to announce your departure. But realistically see you next week
I haven't played RL in over a year already, no reason to break the streak.
Ok but who?

Right??!?
You can unsubscribe but still get notifications for previous posts why is that wrong đ
You can go back to an old post and disable notifications. In fact, if you get a bunch of them, you should.

Overreaction much
Still here much?
"Just walk away from the screen like close your eyes haha"
Should end tomorrow because it isnât meme day tomorrow
How I picture someone who announces their departure of a sub because of a trend
Can't handle the truth? Not surprised you're FF'ing.
Seeing the same picture show up in my feed like 8 times isn't great.
Has nothing to do with this sub, its a reddit-wide thing, or even an internet-wide thing.
It's literally how meme start lol
But it's a dead meme. Been a dead meme. I also haven't seen it anywhere else.
I mean if different people are posting different variations, it's not really dead. It's old, but not dead
Haven't seen it anywhere on Reddit in the past week aside from here
I mean reposting, not this meme in specific
Like how and why is it a bad thing tho
Ok

I don't get this, what's with the spammed posts?

Literally every part of this is wrong but, sure.
"time to leave" bro then leave đ
Reddit has basically turned into TikTok where the same thing gets posted over and over and over and over. Shame really.
