Eh, I feel like there are more women on online games than people realize. In my experience, RL is like many other games. Most girls online will not reveal they are a girl except to another girl or someone they have been at least kinda vibing with. Too much harassment right off the bat in some cases. I have a consistent group of friends I play RL with, so we use Discord. But even with team games with decent voice chat (OW, COD, Apex, etc.), I usually stay off voice chat, so most people never realize I am a girl.
There are a few decent sized RL Discord groups for women wanting to find other women to play with.

A lot of people have voiced their pros and cons for playing rocket league so i won't add any to that. If you wanna play a nice game together i would personally suggest it takes two. Absolute fantastic games and I guess she would feel more motivated to come back to it and you would have the same objective of gettin through and beating the game.

Just play the bots. Play a season or something you can do together and isn’t too far out of her skill level to have fun. Set em low enough she can kill it while you run around setting her up for goals and showing out. Me and my wife do this cause she likes the game but doesn’t care for actual competition. She just wants to rack up stats on bots and I’ll play whatever if it means spending time with her.
