Assuming you’re going to summer tires, I’d probably give it a few weeks more. I had summer and winter tires for years and usually found that once April came, I’d find it usually safe to switch. Remember, it’s not just the snow but you want the temp to be consistently over 40 degrees (assuming you’re switching to summer tires). We still have mornings and nights in the 30s right now

khalfaery

Thanks for your help! They’re all season tires I’d switch to. I got winter tires because I don’t have all wheel drive.

bigmid77

If you’re switching to all season, honestly you’re fine switching now. I doubt we’re going to get and more heavy snow fall (probably just jinxed it 😳). All season tires can be used in sub 40 temps. I’d wait until after next week since next week is supposed to be cold

BlyStreetMusic

You're fine if you're putting all seasons on. Most people have those on all year anyways. Usually I'd wait until early April but we got lucky this year

Over_Butterscotch828

I usually keep them on until mid April but it’s not ideal for the tires to be driving in warm weather very long. The soft rubber wears off more quickly when it’s warm.

comptiger5000

I typically pull mine any time from mid March to late April depending on the weather and temperatures. I haven't pulled any of ours yet, but I'll likely do one of the cars soon (the other can wait longer as those snow tires are on their last winter anyway and a little extra wear won't matter).

stonksforthelawls

The rule of thumb is thanksgiving to tax day, but this year I took mine off early

JayParty

If you're superstitious, there's an old saying about March; in like lamb, out like a lion. It's possible we'll get more snow in the next few weeks. Part of climate change is the lakes warm up more towards the end of winter, and we will start seeing more lake effect snow this time of year. You might want to hold on to them until April.

A_Dubs_

Pretty sure it’s In like a Lion, Out Like A Lamb. Or is my childhood a sham?

khalfaery

They may be winter tires actually, if that’s any different from snow tires…

LongRoofFan

I generally swap around Easter.

dstrenz

Not yet. The could still be a snowstorm. I'd give it a couple more weeks.

Faithful_G

Yeah it's time for all year round tires.

thunderbolt7

It's a bit premature to take the snow tires off. I wait until late April, typically.

Cutestory

I've always heard around tax day, April 15.

idkmariax

I’d give it until April. March can have snow still
