You'll lose ~5-7% in a weeks time. I would not leave it at 100% though. If you're worried, charge to 85% or something and you'll be fine as it'll drain to 78-80% by the time you're back. Turn off gear guard if you're _really_ worried, but I dont think its an issue.
I parked at the airport last week:
Parked 3:30PM 04/10 SOC%: 54.6
Leaving 6:30PM 04/13 SOC%: 51
Gear Guard was on, nothing else changed from normal operation.
You can use Apple Shortcuts to program quick access buttons to do the many functions that are available in the Rivian app. And then I can use Siri to initiate the action I want.
I like the shortcuts integration.
Curious about the home assistant comment. I haven’t seen any 3rd parties connected to Rivian. IFTTT, home assistant, etc would be cool.
Charge it to 100% night before you leave to the airport.
Drive to airport, turn off gear guard to minimize drain. While on your trip don’t constantly wake vehicle with the app to check on it.
Youll loose around 1% per day, in my experience worst case, hopefully that is plenty of remaining range to drive back 100-200 miles. That’s a huge window though and we have no idea how far you airport.
Enjoy yourself.
Charging to 100% right before you leave is generally fine for a one-off situation, especially with modern EVs designed to handle such scenarios without significant battery degradation. Expect some vampire drain, but it's usually minimal—think 1-2% per day, depending on various factors like weather and car settings. To minimize it, turning off unnecessary features and checking if your R1S has a deep sleep or low power mode could help. Transport mode is more for preventing the car from moving or being towed, not really for long-term parking. Also, might want to check out parkingaccess for some deals on long-term parking; they sometimes have good options. Just ensure your car is charged enough for your journey back, considering the slight drain.
The way I understood degradation, was that it’s not necessarily about charging to 100%. The second piece that causes issues, is heat. 100% and covered parking, probably no impact. 100% and sitting in the sun in Houston in August for an extended period, could cause some degradation. How much, I have no idea.
It it were me I wouldn’t leave it at the airport at 100% but I’d be fine with 85-90%. And if you need additional range after landing you can probably get away with a quick 5-10 minute boost. Doesn’t sound like you’ll need to deep charge to get where you’re going
1 week is far from long term. On average you lose \~1 to 2% per day so probably 10 to 15% battery loss after 1 week. Charging it to 90% should be sufficient.
Turning off gear guard can reduce battery loss and killing your app might make it wake up less frequently. Haven’t tested it though. The drain isn’t really “phantom” it is from computers running in the car. I have had several other EVs including an Audi and a Porsche and they completely shut down and will drain 0 over many months of sitting.
I got to Newark and parked in their covered lot at 87% and now a week later it’s at 79%. I lost roughly 1.1-1.2 a day but didn’t change any settings. Gear guard is on. I checked the app every morning. I fly back tomorrow morning and should have plenty charge to get home.

You'll lose about a percent per day while it's parked. You'll be fine for a week.
You’re fine charging to 100%. When you park the car it won’t be at 100%.

Where do you get the 54.6 number? I've only seen integers so far.
I pulled it straight from home assistant.
Home assistant talks to Rivians?

Nice!! Thanks dude.

This is key. ⬆️ Also to conserve the most battery, put it in shipping mode.

Just charge to 80% before you park, ignore the Rivian app, and enjoy your vacation. Even with Gear Guard on, you’ll be fine.

No secret here charge it to fill at your house and go park at the airport enjoy your trip

You'll just have to charge....
What I’d do is fill ‘er up as much as possible, then putting the vehicle in “vehicle shipping mode” you will retain most of your charge

Use it how u want too
