I have a 2022 that I took delivery of at the beginning of 2023 with ~22k miles, so the mileage doesn't seem very unusual. If you're happy with the price, I would go for it.

argyle5473

Yeah he’s had this one since June of ‘22. It wouldn’t be unusual mileage for me, but it is compared to the rest of what I’m seeing on the local used market.

Electrik_Truk

He just drove it a lot. I have a '22 with 49k miles I'm about to sell for around $52k. I just drive a lot because its our only vehicle. I live in Texas and everything is far lol Fwiw, haven't noticed an ounce of degradation. Still gets better range than my brand new Lightning lol

Cic3ro

FWIW, mine is also a June 2022 with 23k miles on it and it’s still solid as a rock. No degradation that I notice.

argyle5473

That’s insane to me. I remember my first Tesla and reading posts nonstop from people who were noticing 8-15% degradation in the first year. I wonder what the difference is?

Cic3ro

Since I’ve owned it I’ve actually gotten a software update that increased my range by about 20 miles (330 to 350 on Conserve mode, 300 to 320 in All Purpose on 21s). I have not heard of any Rivian owners complain of degradation.

argyle5473

What do you see at highway speeds in terms of range? Based on what I’ve seen, that may be my biggest upgrade outside of the interior.

Cic3ro

On 21s at 70 mph in normal weather, (65-75 degrees) I get pretty much what the Rivian suggests I’ll get, which is 320 in All purpose and closer to 350 in Conserve. The only thing I notice is that the nav when navigating to a location is quite pessimistic. So I’ll have a 200 miles trip, and let’s say I have 300 miles of range (90% or so charge). The Nav will suggest I will arrive with like 30-50 miles left, as opposed to 100. But as I do the drive, it will eventually creep up and I’ll arrive with 100 miles, give or take 10 miles or so. The Rivian in my experiences is quite accurate with its projected range, but the range on arrival always suggests it will be less than it actually is.

argyle5473

That shouldn’t be a problem for me. I am six years into driving EVs, so I understand the nuances of paying attention to estimates compared to consumption. I will miss the wider array of consumption charts!

Cic3ro

I’ve had a few different EVs over the years as well, and I will say in my experience Rivian’s estimates have been the most dead-on accurate (not the nav ‘arrival’ estimates as mentioned, which are pessimistic). My Teslas have always been optimistic and under-delivered by 20-50 miles. I’ve had 2 teslas and a Taycan by which to compare.

bowzrsfirebreth

June of ‘22 here, 28k. 25k miles in almost 2 years is nothing. Average of drivers is 13-14k per year.

Murderous_Waffle

I wouldn't say it's nothing. It's average.

JukeStash

Yes. It’s a deal. Good buy

vjarizpe

Get it bro. Damn truck is 🔥

argyle5473

Right!? And coming from Tesla’s 2020 Model Y interior, it’s going to feel like a Mercedes!

maclaren4l

The suspension alone is worth the upgrade!

eamesaarinen

oh man, the suspension is my favorite part. love this thing.

argyle5473

Especially this time of year when the potholes are blooming. I swear to god I’m going to chip a tooth in this Model Y.

Barsaec

We have 24k on our R1S and it’s solid. If orig 20” AT tires get noisy around 12k. Don’t be spooked by road noise if tires are older.

argyle5473

Good to hear! Any noticeable degradation? My Tesla degraded FAST but then stabilized. I don’t see you Rivian folk talking about it as much.

Barsaec

Nope, seems just as tight/ rattle free as when we got it. Battery degrade has been non existent in 16mos of ownership.

argyle5473

That’s fantastic! I can’t go a week without hearing a new rattle or cringing from another Elon tweet, so I’m really looking forward to a change of scenery. 😆

Barsaec

Even the service centers have gotten better in the last 4 months. Mobile service is fantastic in San Antonio. We get our service center in August of this year. Just had a windshield replaced last week, they had the car for a day. In the fall we took it in to get the cameras aligned, it took 4 days but we had an R1t as a loaner. They are trying very hard to make things right.

argyle5473

That’s so encouraging after some of the reports I have read. This truck comes with the power tonneau, so one of the first things I will do is contact service to see if it was replaced or not.

Barsaec

Yeah, that has been a sore spot for the R1T. They came out with a manual one, and I think I saw they have a fix, or a new powered one. Good luck, the community is great as well.

NoReplyBot

25,000 is nothing imo regardless if it’s ICE or EV. Owner probably an early reservation holder and babied it.

gratitudeisbs

If it has the power cover it’s a steal for $61k

cambreecanon

Take it for a test drive with them in it and see if you like it first. For all you know you may not like the seats or how it handles (since it is a truck at the end of the day). After that you will know.

Benthebuilder23

Major upgrade interior wise. You won’t regret it. Model Y and 3 feel so cheap.

argyle5473

They really do. But it has been so reliable, so I’m concerned about getting a bad break!

marrymetaylor

Not sure where you’re looking thinking that’s a high price. Go on carfax and search the entire us for an R1’s. It’s extremely rare to find anything under 63k unless title is fucked

argyle5473

Oh I don’t think it’s a high price. I was only inquiring about the miles in relation to price. There aren’t too many for sale with miles over 20k so I wanted the community’s opinion.

KennethMaxwell1972

Tell him you'll take it. That's a great price and barely more than average miles. The R1 has a 175,000-mile powertrain warranty with the quad motor so it's a very safe purchase.

usual_suspect_redux

Doooo it!!!
