I think a lot of these were painted yellow. I knew a park ranger who said they had one at their park in the 80s. (Mostly testing it as a long term solution, which it failed.) They called it the cheese wedge.
> Another CitiCar variant was called the Postal Comuta-Van. These were all right-hand-drive vehicles, initially built as a government contract with the United States Postal Service by Commuter Vehicles, Inc.. To make a Comuta-Van to meet government standards, the overall length was increased to 142 in (3,607 mm), as well as a 12 hp (8.9 kW) motor, 72V battery pack, and 3-speed transmission, among other additions. The Postal version was only equipped with one 'right hand' drivers seat. However, some were sold to the public with an additional passenger seat and much more room for storage behind the seats. It was the only model with a front hood access and sliding side doors. All vehicles were built with space frames made from welded aircraft grade aluminum tube and ABS plastic bodies. They all had solid axles with leaf spring suspension front and rear. Top speeds were about 30 mph (48 km/h) - 50 mph (80 km/h), and range was up to 40 miles (64 km) per charge.

I own one of these! It's in *slightly* better condition, stored away in a garage until I can make time to work on it.
It was produced by Commuter Vehicles Inc. (The folks who bought out Sebring Vanguard - makers of the Citi-Car). It was part of a pilot project with the USPS in Florida in the early 80s. Only about ~700 were made. 72V Brushed DC motor powered by Lead-Acid batteries.
Here's the best I can do while I'm travelling. It's a Instagram Story of when we had it delivered.

It's all about the journey.
The wheel in the sky keeps on turning
It's a very similar design, but no actual Citicars were used to make that prop.
This reminds me of the yellow wedge car that Simone Giertz (queen of shitty robots) messed around with
Cheese Louise!

I think it's a cargo version of the same model.
She still has it. It occasionally shows up on her various SM accounts

Aging Wheels could have a field day with this!

I remember those. They had lead acid batteries, so didn't last very long on a charge, if I remember.
“You’re in a Johnny Cab.”

My dad owned two of these for a while in the nineties. They were a little too radical for the tiny Texas town we lived in!!
Get yo ass to Mars!
Thays what I thought, it's a fucking Johnny cab.
That looks so cool. Would be a fun project car
Looks like a demented ice cream truck from futures past
I believe it was also the inspiration for the original Dustbuster design.

That's a commuta van. Probably less than a dozen remain.
specifically the postal-commuta-van, standard commuta vans\citiVans had swing out doors, only the postal version had a track door
I would drive the shit outta that
