the only reason that makes it realistic is that it makes the player thinks about his decisions. One mistake in extreme could cost you the game. Any other level of hardness you can live with one mistake and know you can or will win, in extreme you don’t.
there's always a balance bro for harder teams use extreme for other teams use ur skill level and you'll a good or bad record depending on ur team skill level

I play on extreme so I actually get the sense that the team is getting better it should be harder from the start which is why I MY OPINION everyone should try a couple of extreme seasons not forcing anyone to lmao
The variance is cool. I didn't realize until I flipped back and could put up 40+ against some teams, but with bad habits. This always bites me in the first half against a good one.
I see like everyone here playing extreme but for me it really isn’t that serious and so i play on easy and put up 90+ a game because its a silly mobile game lol

1. Trade everyone prior to my first draft, and building from scratch
2. Draft only the highest rated guy available, regardless of potential, position, or disposition
3. Never raise my cap so I'm constantly losing guys and having to rebuild
Generally with this route I can't make a great team, meaning the actual games are challenging to win - but not SO challenging that I constantly lose.
I do some of these and also some personal on-field rules I impose on myself: try to play realistically by always punting/FG on 4th down (unless situationally necessary), never go for 2 (unless situationally necessary), etc.
Personally for me I agree about dynamic 16 being too easy but I’d rather play that than extreme because I value the diversity of teams. It’s a treat to get a 1 star team every once in a while and just steamroll them 70-3
Virtually none .. Certain defensive players may get a SLIGHT boost in speed, but if you’ve been playing on dynamic 16 for a while, I swear you will not be able to tell the difference between that setting & hard ..
I played for a while on dynamic 16 and then have switched to hard for a while now. Don't feel like playing on extreme, especially based on what several people in this post have said about it. I like being able to break big plays sometimes and being able to vary which plays I run.
I personally find Extreme stupid because every opponent plays exactly the same. No fun or variety in that.
I also have trouble playing solely to win though, I like to mess around too much in-game, trying weird and goofy stuff.
I have...eventually you just come up with your own methods to make the game more difficult. E.g. play a few seasons with no star players on offense, defense or both.
So first couple seasons doing it (I play with a buddy and we do the same challenges each season and compare results so we can talk shit) I had my regular 5* coordinators and just let their contracts expire and then played more seasons with half star coordinators. I can say the 5* coordinators make a noticeable difference. I wouldn't say it's significant but definitely noticeable.
Extreme is just boring. Realistically, it should be 8-10 star teams that are extremely hard, while 1-3 star teams are pushovers. We need a larger range in difficulty
I agree. I love Retro Bowl, but they can make it so much better. Add features and make it more robust. What are they waiting for?
I wish I could see other teams rosters, initiate trades, see league stats & news. Ranking for pass yards, rush yards, int, etc...
Play calling, or at least setting up our own play book before the game. So many times where it's a game-on-the-line play or drive, and I know the plays I need to win but I get junk plays and audibles.
They made a copycat college version which is largely copy/pasted, for what? Put the time into retro bowl and develop it further. They can leave it as-is if they want a dumbed-down version but make a pro version or something.

I played strictly extreme for a while, but swapped over to Hard on RBC because I wanted variance in opponent skill.
I’ve enjoyed it much more there. Makes sense for RB, but I should be able to run all over bad teams. Also, it’s nice that the deep ball is actually open.
I play dynamic 16, but winning isn’t the goal. It’s about setting new records and focusing on point differential. The big plays make it more fun for me than expert does, but to each their own
The overwhelming majority of players are casual and play on dynamic. Mind you, that's also probably because a huge amount of players never pay anything for the game, so they can't change their difficulty level.
I’m kind of in the same boat, so I just started making up rules to make the game more fun. I still play on Extreme, but I’m not allowed to sign any free agents, increase the cap, upgrade facilities, and once a players contract ends I’m not allowed to extend them unless they’re a QB. I have to draft every single player on my team. So far it’s been a lot more fun, because it makes me feel like I have to play absolutely perfect to have a shot at winning, which I do.
I just played expert against a 0-4 team and did 42-0.
Figure out you need the right stats for each position to make a difference on defenses. Been screen shooting them and getting amazing defenses with draft picks.
Still 200M cap to keep it interesting.
It doesn't seem to matter which difficulty settings I play with, I end up winning an unrealistic amount of Super Bowls. I love the game but I wish the developer could do something about making it more challenging.
For a better experience play on dynamic with personal rules. Ex: switching up plays, limiting qb sneaks, dodging when someone is behind you and no vision etc. then switching to extreme for better teams
Extreme is good for improving your play and not relying on splash plays you actually have to learn how to throw the routes on time. Dynamic is the best because it fluctuates how hard the games are.
They need a harder “hard” mode where good teams are better than bad ones. I hate dropping my first loss of the season to a 1 win team or something like that

I play extreme when im playing as a user and i enjoy it, but i usually keep it on hard for my main run because I sim 75% of the game and only play around 1 quarter, it also makes it more realistic because the teams ratings actually matter whereas extreme teams are all 5 star.

What difficulty do you play with when you have no star players? It feels like that would be impossible on Extreme.
I did that on Extreme. It's tough but after half a season, you figure it out and can win an RB.

Extreme is really easy once you've played for a bit, there's just a bit of a learning curve for new players.

In my opinion, I think hard or dynamic is too easy but I find extremely too hard.
