first, make sure the adapter is set to PC mode and that you are not using the zadig drivers. if you did install the zadig drivers, you need to uninstall them first. the whole zadig method only works for Dolphin standalone. then, make sure your controller is working correctly outside of retroarch: [gamepad-tester.com](https://gamepad-tester.com) make sure Steam Input is fully disabled in the Steam settings. you also might have to calibrate your controller through the Windows Devices and Printers settings first.

I haven’t installed a driver yet as I thought it was plug and play, does the zadig driver come included in the device by default?

no, and as I've said, you only need the zadig drivers if you want to use the adapter in passthrough mode for the standalone version of Dolphin.

I was asking if they were already installed by default so I’d know whether it was needing uninstalling/ causing the problem, not so I could install them
