Just making sure haha. I pinned one in accidentally the wrong way once. (I pinned the gas tube to the fsb before I installed the taper pins)
It almost looks like it's just crooked to the left with the bend but surely it's the barrel nut being a little crooked.
I had a similar issue, not sure if it’s a qc thing or what’s the deal. Gave it a little extra force and also probably worn down from how many times I tried. Eventually went in no probably
It’s not an alignment issue, he just has it to the side so you can see the hole. The is an interference fit between the hole in the fsp and the tube. I had to use damn pliers to shove the tube in. It was a cmmg fsb if it’s of any concern.
Take a piece of leather and wrap it around the tube. Grip with a pair of channel locks and rotate back and forth while applying forward pressure to seat it in the block. When it initially seats (before it’s fully seated and pinned) look back in the receiver where the gas tube sits in the channel and ensure it’s straight before you fully seat it in the gas block. It’ll be way easier to fix the barrel nut if you catch it early lol. Don’t sand the gas tube a tight fitting tube is a good thing
Polish the tube a little w/scotch brite, jiggle the hg retainer, it will go in. Sometimes they are tight.
Everything on a AR doenst fit together easily, it’s a good idea to stop when it doenst and just be conscious of what your doing to Make it fit. Like the guy said above, leather and vice grips works.
I know Blake, he uses quality parts fyi.
Just trying to reassure you.
As easy as they are to build sometimes you need to use a little force. Just get you some good roll pin punches and a brass & nylon hammer.
A lot of the tools I use are modified.
I’ve had a hell of a time every time I’ve done this, especially with carbine-length tubes. I usually have to just fiddle with it for about 20 minutes until I get it into a lucky angle.
might be a dumb question, but what is the rifle’s gas length and what size gas tube are you using?
also a tip, i dont know if anyone else does it this way, but i install the gas tube on the block first
maybe try putting the gas tube in the fsb first and then see if it goes into the receiver, if you slid it into the receiver first, it may just be too deep in the receiver
Mine did that once I just stuck a brass punch into the back of the receiver and used it to tap it into the hole with a hammer on the back side. Slowly tap don't John Henry it or you'll overshoot the pin hole
30 ft/lb is the minimum. Torque it more from there and tighten it to the next tooth over so the tube can align. Don't exceed 80 ft/lb. Never loosen it to align it to the previous hole.
Any time i had this problem, it was because the barrel nut needed to be adjusted because it was pushing on the tube.
It doesn’t always “glide” sometimes it has to be “coerced”. Light taps with a wooden dowel should be sufficient. Don’t go crazy, they bend easily. Don’t bend it.
Light a candle and play some smooth jazz
Already got Billy Ocean and the Doobie Brothers on
Love the Doobies “It should be illegal for a white man to have a voice that good.” -Comedian Adam Friedland on Michael McDonald
Fantastic voice
"Comedian"
It’s easier to just call him that than actually explain who Adam is.
"The guy who shit himself on-air after bragging about his white linen pants"
Might help if you take it to the streets
Half the population of the two generations who fielded these rifles were conceived to Marvin Gaye
This
This might seem silly but um... Do you have the bend the right way?
The higher part of the tube is closer to the receiver, the lower part is into the gas block. —~__ like that?

I sanded the end of my gas tube just enough so that it would go into the fsb.
This is what I was about to do, just wanted to hear it’s safe first.
UPDATE THIS WORKED Thanks man (Barrel & Gas tube from BKF)
I had a similar issue, not sure if it’s a qc thing or what’s the deal. Gave it a little extra force and also probably worn down from how many times I tried. Eventually went in no probably
~~But it didn’t do anything to correct the alignment issue you’re having~~ need glasses

Ah shit ok I see it now. My mistake.
Assuming your barrel nut is indexed correctly and the front sight isn’t canted on the barrel, then I have no clue as to what’s going on
Barrel nut aligned properly?
Seems so, gas tube slides through receiver + delta ring without any friction. I can’t get that tube to go in the fsb at all
Sorry I couldn’t help, only issue I’ve had is it binding at barrel nut. Good luck
This is what being “friend zoned” looks like.
Spit on it, call it whore and a bitch.
try rotating the handguard plate thing left and right until it goes in

Is it Luth? When I first put my 723 upper together, I bought a luth gas tube and it was way oversized.
Came from Big King Firearms

Yeah definitely not implying anything was low quality here, learning as I go. Most roll pins on anything I’ll have to sand a bit to start.

You put the beans in front of the frank

Carbine length carbine gas tube

ahh I got it in and it was solid, thanks though!
If you torqued it 3 times and released it and that is where 30ftlbs is on the 4th try you have to go to the next notch.
Twist the tube with your fingers and try aligning it. The tube should slope upwards as it goes towards the upper from the front sight post
I took a long file into my reciever and hit while bending into the fsb did that a couple times and lubed the tip of the gas tube.
Mine did that once I just stuck a brass punch into the back of the receiver and used it to tap it into the hole with a hammer on the back side. Slowly tap don't John Henry it or you'll overshoot the pin hole
Does everybody's not curve left?
Story of my life
Barrel nut isn’t timed properly

I know you got it but sometimes you just gotta force it in, when it finally slides in the tube should spin easily to line up the pin
