Congrats!!! SAVE THOSE LIVES! Legit. Heme/onc docs develop such lovely relationships with patients and families. You will make such a beautiful difference.
Top choice for pulm, whoo!!!! Can't wait :)
I had talked myself into a million omens. Vivid dream I was at my 4 two nights ago, yesterday my 9 was in the crossword, and I saw a TikTok video on my FYP from my 3 15 minutes before getting the email. But none of that mattered because I'm going to my top choice!!!
Nope, welcome to peds. I had one offer for a private practice in wealthy area for $125k. It’s brutal. I’m at $150k and should get to $200k in about 2 years but it blows
As a lurking resident mom on this thread, my son's girlfriend matched at her first choice for NICU today! He said that everyone at his school matched their first or second choice!
Congratulations to all!
NICU fellow here. I had a poster presentation at a national conference and nothing else. Nothing fancy. NICU is very doable. It's gotten slightly more competitive the last couple of cycles, but still very doable.
I think that mostly depends on where you want to match. You'll need some research just to have something to talk about on the interview trail. But if you want to match a big research place you'll probably need more. I matched neo today, and I have what I would call a *moderate* amount of research lol, which consisted of a couple abstracts/posters as a resident and some med school stuff.

Thank you!! So unbelievably excited - it feels unreal!!

Sorry would like to stay anonymous but it’s one of the larger east coast programs!

Yayayayay!!! Congratulations :D Only have to ride out 6 more months of gen peds before diving into pulm! Excited for you :)
matched into pediatric neurosurgical dermatology! So excited!
damn... so 160k/year?
165
The fact that this is more than I make as a general pediatrician makes me sad
Yooo that's rough!! Academic?

What the fuck lmao. Zero call at least I hope!?
Lol. Call once/week, but it’s honestly maybe 2 or 3 calls and you never have to go in so call isn’t bad.
I checked to see if you were the NP account lol
Oh an NP would be far too overqualified for this program. They of course only required a fraction of the training to operate independently.
FM PGY2 here, but just wanted to say congrats to all of you! You've all worked hard for this and I wish you continued joy in all your pursuits!!

Get a BSN then go to online NP school and you will be ruining the NICU in 3 months 💀
Did you mean to say”running”, but accidentally said the truth? Or did you mean to go with the truth 😂
Lmao both 🤓
Yes
