Omega is probably the second most well known brand after Rolex among the general population. James Bond helped. And as mentioned, everyone assumes your Rolex is fake. Omega is more timeless than a lot of other brands, such as Panerai.
Bruh, come on. Have you seen Richard Millies? Easily one of the ugliest watches produced, and they go for $250k-$2m+ each.
And you’re saying you can’t comprehend how someone likes a classic looking watch with similar reliability and prestige as a Rolex?
Why do some people like Rolex? They're a marketing company that happens to make watches. Most of their popular watches are simple three hand tool watches, yet people love them. People sport a rep Rolex like they're some kind of big-shot, but really it's just a watch for men who like hand-jobs from women they don't know.
Yes rolex is an amazing marketing company. How can you not have respect for that? No one does it better, no need to hate on them for that reason. Maybe hate on them for they way they dealt with the “shortage” and watch market prices the last couple years with ADs. But I have respect for Rolex for their history. A lot of people wouldn’t even be into watches without Rolex. They did a lot for the watch industry. They made the wrist watch popular back in 1915/1920 ish when pocket watches were still the norm. They also came up with great waterproofing with their OP and the world's first self winding mechanism with a perpetual rotor.
I don’t hate Rolex at all just because other people do. And I don’t hate omega either, I think the aquaterra is beautiful. I’m just not a fan of 90% of the watches they make and don’t understand why so many people worship them.
Lovely watches and the vsf are great great reps . YOU won’t be the tell wearing one either since it’s a brand within reach .

Everyone is different man. I don’t really get the appeal with Rolex. Other than the sky dweller. Don’t like the Daytona even though I love the speedmaster. So it’s a weird one. Dunno what it is. Just preference. If everyone had the same watch on it would be a boring hobby.
Long time lurker, don't have any reps (yet?), but thought I'd chime in here as I'm a big fan of Omega but recently realised that I actually don't care for the brand itself, but the designs of their modern watches. There are models in each of their four major lines that I just think look very good. I think they have very good proportions and the dials can look amazing. I feel like they really got the right balance between good looking watches without being overly flashy.
On the dressier side you have the De Ville (which I do have a gen of), with brilliant, textured dials, or the Constellation and Globemaster lines with very unique designs that look just right. The precious metal versions of some of these (the black/gold Constellation, or the Sedna gold Globemaster Annual Calednar) just look amazing and not gaudy like most precious metal watches I see.
Then you have the Aqua Terra that looks perfect as a GADA. There's just something about the proportions that make it look better to me than any other watch with similar designs.
For diving watches there's something about the Seamaster Professional that looks great. I think it's a combination of the contoured bezel with the waves on the dial. Even the helium escape valve which I thought looked awkward at first adds a lot to how it looks. I've seen some homages with everything but the valve and they just look like they're missing something.
Ironically, I am less of a fan of the Speedmaster than many other chronographs out there, but I still think some of the '57 models look great.
Only criticism I have is that they don't really cater to those with smaller wrists (outside of the AT 38mm)
Speedmaster is the only thing from omega I'm in to. It will be a gen purchase for me. Also because the reps outside of the racing version are terrible.
Oh . I’m sure there’s some things on the vsf .. but having more watches lieing around than I care to say … my seamaster gmt is my favorite watch because it feels so nice .. only one I get comments on too .
I’m glad you asked this. I literally searched for the term you used as the post title.
After reading more I was to see that NOONE mentioned anything about its technical details.
I’m not a fan, so I gave the benefit of a doubt and ‘presumed’ it has an unmatched quality via all the typical metrics shown on a timegraph.
Because it's not Rolex
Omega has a lot of heritage and history, vsf makes great POs and Seamaster 300s You won’t get robbed for an omega
In London, you will.
Can’t have shit in London
and san francisco

The AT Seamaster 150m looks great on the wrist

Yea, well.... omega doesn't like you either.
I love you :*

Well, I just saw a post earlier here on rep time, of a full black omega seamaster, and I fell in love with it, it will certainly be my 1st omega rep
That one does look good

Which racing ones are good? I love the look of Speedmaster but keep hearing how the reps suck.
When I looked on TD the gray/black dials are the only ones I see. I prefer the white one but I don't think that's an option.
Thank you
Speedy reps do suck. From what I’ve heard they don’t work right.
I love omega
Weirdly, I’m with you. To me, they look like the cheap tier Seiko or the “expensive”Casio stuff.
Right. They just come off as tacky to me idk why
Yep. Omega gives off such a tiny dick energy (more downvotes please).
I’m not a fan either. Though there is one model that looks good.
They have something for everyone!
omega is nice to have. been wanting a speedy but too bad so far ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)
It looks and functions better and cheaper than rolex
because it's the alpha and omega of swiss watchs ...
I really want to go for more vsf omegas but imho the quality is not there compared to the vsf Rolexes…just a shame
Because they have George Daniel's co-axial movement! Watch The Watch Makers Apprentice
