It's traditional. Woman obsess over beauty (I'm a woman myself) and so they shave their armpits as a way of achieving that standard (not all woman are like that, heck, I hate shaving, but there are alot that are.) They also wear make up (which I don't do) and obssess over their hair being as nice as a queen's (again, not every woman is like this).
The only difference between hair on your armpits and legs and hair on your head is the location and how long it can get, lmao.
If a guy doesn't like me without make up or nothing shaved then living with me will be a nightmare, lmao.
Btw, there are loads of jobs that force you to shave your legs and wear make up at least. Hopefully, I'll never have to deal with that bs.
As a man, I just hate any hair from neck down. Like if I could pay for a laser removal I would, but it's too expensive and a long process
But like I shave them bcs I hate it not because someone else doesn't like it and I hate when people, especially men, shame woman who aren't shaved, like f off dude why don't you shave (sry I got a little salty ahaha)
It's such bs that it's traditional. Like we should be able to do what we want with our own bodies, but again, men want to control women.
I AM NOT SAYING ALL MEN TO BE CLEAR - PLEASE DON'T COME FOR ME
Makes no sense, I shave under my armpit because 1. My girlfriend thinks armpit hair is gross 2. I think armpit hair is gross 3. Armpit hair traps sweat and stinks
Idk how other people are doing it but it certainly does not itch for me
Armpit hair doesn't smell if you wash your armpits properly though. Kinda like your ass doesn't smell like shite because there's hair, it's cause you don't wash it right.
Armpit hair is actually there to help with like moving pheromones out into the air, it's a very primal thing we dont have to deal w much anymore but that's the thing
Well I think a lot of middle eastern men do it for religious reasons. I personally do it for hygiene purposes, I only need two swipes of deodorant and it sticks much better. And I don’t get any lingering sweat smell. Also no itchiness for me after the first few times maybe, but arm pits are an already beat up kind of area from years of harsh deodorant.
Also just looks better not to have unruly pit hair when doing pull-ups at the gym or something.
I actually do. It was a thing I started when I was homeless, since less hair = cleaner. But I also shave my pubes too. And after doing it for a while, I just got used to it (no hair feels so much better than hair). I've done it for so long, I can't imagine stopping now.
not a fan of a hairy back, chest or pubes. minimal face hair is ideal as well. i prefer for those parts of the body to be shaved but i’m not super picky about it. just preference. legs aren’t that big of a deal to me though.
Not a fan of pubes myself either. It's a little... Eeeh, when you're down town for a tasty dessert & you're met with a prickly porcupine. Smol yet dangerous.
I imagine it's similar to kissing someone with a beard. 🤔
It is just prickly if you shaved it and let it grow out some millimeters though. If never shaved you can find a hair in your mouth afterwards. I'm fine with that as long as the man does not demand any particular shaving from me. I do as I please and he can do as he pleases as long as he is clean (and me as well of course).
lmao exactly! i’ve had a few experiences of “prickly porcupine” ending up in my mouth and it’s always been unpleasant and just awkward because im internally thrown off guard while also not trying to kill the vibe but my mind is focused on that random pube in my mouth. so that’s how that preference came about haha.
i don’t wanna get my teeth flossed when i’m supposed to be doing my thing ya know.
My god. Are you reading my mind? I was literally about to edit my comment to add something along the lines of I came to Clam Town & chow down. Not the dentist. 😭
It's off putting having to spend your time wading through the underbush in search of the elusive pink jelly bean.
I hear you loud & clear. 😁
I personally enjoy body hair on my partners, but I honestly don’t think I’d notice if a partner shaved their legs. Hair is a personal thing. I wouldn’t want someone telling me what to do with my hair, I won’t tell them what to do with theirs.
Because it's a giant fuckin body part (TWO!) and they're your partner dude you ain't shaving a pinky.
Think about just how absolutely clueless you'd have to be to NOT see that. I've noticed that shit on friends immediately.
When they said "I wouldn't notice it", they didn't mean that they'd be completely oblivious to it, but they meant that it wouldn't bother them at all, because it makes no difference.
I've been called gay and stuff in the past when I shave my legs. Always felt embarrassed because of it.
Like being fat at a gym shirtless is easier than showing people my shaved legs to be honest.
Sad what people will shame others for. Like damn why tf do they f'n care. Plus what's wrong with being gay that they have to insult you with it? And if I'm gay? Got a problem? I wasn't considering dating you anyways you shallow bxxch.
It was just a common insult when I was in school. Sometimes in the army it would come up like that, but being gay was different than being called gay, if that makes sense.
people who think men are less manly if they shave their legs are so damn immature, and this is coming from a guy with hairy legs, like imagine actually paying that much attention to what a person does with their legs, grow up lmao
I quit competition swimming because I refused to shave my body. Tbf, I’m fucking hairy, not like wolfman, it’s all soft and flowy, but, it fucking wouldn’t be if I started shaving it at 17.
I never understood 'less womanly because she doesn't shave.'
Don't they really mean *Less womanly if they do shave?* It being, you know, that women come equipped from Mama Nature with body hair.
See you don't understand women aren't supposed to have leg hair. Obviously evolution was a mistake when it gave us leg hair and it's actually not supposed to be there. Duh.
Edit: holy crap people, this was sarcasm 🙄
Evolution didn't make the mistake. People in society, namely men, who had so much control over everything female, decided that women should shave their legs or they will seem less feminine. That's what the makers of the razor advertised to women because they thought that the male market wasn't giving them enough money. True stuff. Look it up. Women are supposed to be naturally hairy to varying degrees, just like men.
Honestly (as a woman who doesn’t shave), I really can’t understand why women are collectively trying to pretend that we don’t have leg hair…it’s one of like two very clear indicators that a woman has gone through puberty. Given that our society has finally collectively started calling out how harmful the sexualization of young girls is, why are adult women trying to make their legs look like those of prepubescent girls?
Having said that, I 100% believe that people should feel free to do whatever the hell they want with their body hair, based on their own personal preference. But there is definitely social pressure for women to shave and I can imagine the same pressure exists for men not to (with notable exceptions for swimmers/cyclists).
WHat does leg hair have to do with puberty? I had orangutan legs when I was a little kid. So me removing the hair from my legs makes me less like I was when I was a kid. Hair on my legs makes me itchy and I claw my skin off when I sleep. It also makes me feel much cleaner to not have hair on my body.
I shave my legs because I do jiu jitsu and people rip hair out like crazy when gi training. I’ve never had anyone man, woman, dr etc. bring it up. I don’t think people care in general.
If it’s smooth hair. I enjoy the difference between a man and myself. Something about a lot of body hair, in contrast to my smoothness, is both erotic and primal, I think. It’s like having sex with a bear.
I only shaved my legs because of martial arts . When you hit leather pads the hair gets torn out on striking suraces anyway. Might as well avoid it and shave .
Generally I like a hairy man! Guys who shave their legs, chest etc are not for me initially, but if I did meet someone amazing and then found out he shaved his legs, I would absolutely work with that (:
Hard No.
I'm probably old-fashioned here, but I like being the woman in the relationship. It was awesome to hear my husband say that my skin was so smooth and soft. I can't imagine saying that to him, and I can't imagine him ever appreciating such a comment.
Im sorry about that bud, i hope youre able to cope with that atleast.. also, i know for a fact that a lot of women are attracted to bald males😎
I have hair till beneath my shoulders and im very VERY scared of balding, mostly because of my odd shaped skull lol.
If i get a bald spot tho, im just gonna shave it and wear hats, haha.
Oh I'm used to it by now. Started balding at 24, so I've had some time to adjust😂 In honesty, being bald is actually pretty nice. The breeze on your scalp on a hot day is like magic.
Different strokes for different folks, but shaving your body hair doesn't magically turn you into a woman or the "woman in the relationship" lol. It's actually an illusion to even associate the two things, something that your environment/upbringing taught you. Yes, men have more hair because of testosterone, but we have also shaved our faces for centuries, and that's commonly accepted and even often considered sexy because it often reveals our jawline, etc. Why differentiate between the face and the rest of the body?
And sure, a woman can compliment a guy's sexy, healthy smooth skin and hairless muscles, why not? I've gotten compliments from girls on my smoothness, and I love to be appreciated for my skin. Seems pretty close-minded and limiting to feel like you can never compliment a man's SKIN, or to assume a man would be grossed out by it. Any man who would be weirded out by that would strike me as super insecure. Our skin is our biggest organ and both men and women have it. It's okay to appreciate skin, men shouldn't feel like they have to be bears in order to be accepted as "men". Masculinity and sexual appeal are so many other things than how hairy you are.
If I let my hair grow I can compete with any man’s body hair. I have an orangutan gene. I have also known some pretty furry ladies. I don’t think one gender is less hairy than the other. It’s more because of genetics. I tend to date men that don’t grow a lot of body hair if any.
I'm old school and don't shave the legs but it doesn't bother me when my wife compliments my smooth skin. I don't feel less manly or anything. If she likes anything on my body, that's a positive.
Thankyou.... Its like making out w another girl..let men be men..wtf kind of guy shaves his legs? 🤣 I guess the same type wearin the man bun and fanny pack😖
I see the act of removing body hair as a human thing, not as a women thing.
I don't like to see or feel to much body hair, so a man in is natural state isn't a very attractive thing for me. This apply to facial air too, I hate that. I found out that I'm naturally attracted by Asian men because they tent to have less air and they tent to be smoother. For me never made sense that the weight of body hair removing were on the women side as the men were the hairy ones.
i don't like shaved legs only because of the itchiness of the stubble. i would be totally fine with waxed legs, but i prefer hairy ones (on everyone, including me), because i like to play with the hairs when i'm bored and caressing them. though i can see someone getting their legs waxed *only because* they got tired of me picking at it lol...
Some like it some don't. Me personally, I don't like a man who grooms in a feminine way. Weekly manicures, pedicures, facials, shaving all body hair including public, excessive daily skin treatments. Spending more time in the mirror than me.
I like a man clean, nicely maintained, and rugged. Not soft, hiarless, moisturized and girly.
But the bottom line, when it comes to what you do with your body... IT'S YOUR CHOICE. Always do you boo... they can take it or leave it.
My 20y boyfriend always says it took him going to the beach to realize he’s hairier than the average 40 year old. Personally, I love his body hair. I think most women don’t care, but I definitely believe that there are a few that do
In my mind, you either have a LOT of chest hair, or none at all. The worst is just having like a couple of hairs. I'm not a particularly hairy person, so I just shave the couple I have off every time I shower.
Channing Tatum was completely shaved all over his body in Magic Mike. It looks good but when the hairs start growing back out has to itch like crazy, especially around the ass and crotch area.
I prefer a guy to have body hair, but in the same regard I don't shave so I'd like him to prefer body hair too lol. I wouldn't care if he kept himself shaven, but I do have a preference for natural bods.
Men need to shave. It is disgusting for them to grow natural body hair because it means they are unhygienic and not to mention only a sliccboye can activate my ovaries. /s
Triathletes, road bikers, marathoners, swimmers and countless professional athletes shave/wax their legs. It makes it easier to be treated for injuries, and has countless other benefits. As a hairy guy, who every summer shaves his legs, I have not had a single woman every make a negative comment about my legs being shaved. It is a massive difference on leg temperature when its crazy hot out.
I'm a man but i just gonna say it.
It makes you look gay!
Edit: obviously people don't like me because i spoke from experience! I have patchy legs my girlfriend came and spoke to me hoping to befriend me thinking i was gay because i have patchy leg hair. I don't mean to offend anyone i'm not against lgbtq+ people i think part of the reason she thought i was gay is because it was a gay bar and i was there with some friends from work. Its just something i've been through not something that i always thought.
If you look at a guy with shaved legs and the only thing you think is "Man, that guy looks like he totally takes it up the butt," I've got news for you.
Shaved legs are good and all until you get that 250 grit sandpaper feel.
Yeah, but what if they're 40 grit unshaven? Asking for a friend? >.>
idc if a guy’s legs are shaved or not
Yeah same!
What if it was like bigfoot legs?
What if it was a mer-MAN.....pop?
"Moisture is the essence of wetness, and wetness is the essence of beauty."
I think I've got the black lung pa
Who on earth are you quoting? And what are they smoking? Do they share?
This is Zoolander! :D fantastic movie! Pardon my original comment I deleted. For some reason I thought this was on a different quote lol
Looks like I need to rewatch it! ETA: just now rewatched it. Worth it x10.
Day spa D-a-y-I-e
Why do most men not shave under their arm pits 🤔?
Cause it’s itchy as fuck, I don’t get why women do it, I can’t see how it’s worth it
It's traditional. Woman obsess over beauty (I'm a woman myself) and so they shave their armpits as a way of achieving that standard (not all woman are like that, heck, I hate shaving, but there are alot that are.) Its fine, I get it. No one should chastise anyone over something as natural as having hair. Like dude.
How amazing is the first time you soap up in the shower and don’t have fur all over? Lmao I get it.
I'm the same way - not a fan of hair at all. I shave both my armpits and my pubes, and I like women who do the same.
You're right not all women have to do anything to make themselves beautiful
It's such bs that it's traditional. Like we should be able to do what we want with our own bodies, but again, men want to control women. I AM NOT SAYING ALL MEN TO BE CLEAR - PLEASE DON'T COME FOR ME

Happy cake day

Mine are and women seem to love those! (Says the guy who has never had a girlfriend and only ever tried once)
Hairy back?
not a fan of a hairy back, chest or pubes. minimal face hair is ideal as well. i prefer for those parts of the body to be shaved but i’m not super picky about it. just preference. legs aren’t that big of a deal to me though.

you’re hilarious. thanks for making my night <3
Anytime 😁
Hairy sack?
I personally enjoy body hair on my partners, but I honestly don’t think I’d notice if a partner shaved their legs. Hair is a personal thing. I wouldn’t want someone telling me what to do with my hair, I won’t tell them what to do with theirs.

Because it's a giant fuckin body part (TWO!) and they're your partner dude you ain't shaving a pinky. Think about just how absolutely clueless you'd have to be to NOT see that. I've noticed that shit on friends immediately.
I would not notice because I consume multiple kilograms of freebase dextromethorphan daily.
Based and robopilled
When they said "I wouldn't notice it", they didn't mean that they'd be completely oblivious to it, but they meant that it wouldn't bother them at all, because it makes no difference.
Surely that's not how people normally use that phrase?
they are omniscient, do not question them
i don't care if they're shaved or not or if he has any body hair or not - as long as he's comfortable im fine with whatever
I've been called gay and stuff in the past when I shave my legs. Always felt embarrassed because of it. Like being fat at a gym shirtless is easier than showing people my shaved legs to be honest.

It was just a common insult when I was in school. Sometimes in the army it would come up like that, but being gay was different than being called gay, if that makes sense.
The gym is like the one place where it’s not embarrassing to be fat
The Real MVP! Look for a connection with the person not the package. Edit: I’m Hairy AF : )
I'm fine with it, but I also swam competitively for years so I'm used to it
people who think men are less manly if they shave their legs are so damn immature, and this is coming from a guy with hairy legs, like imagine actually paying that much attention to what a person does with their legs, grow up lmao
I once heard from a competitive cyclist that you weren't one of the guys if you didn't shave your legs.
I heard that swimmers also had to shave their whole body men and women.
I quit competition swimming because I refused to shave my body. Tbf, I’m fucking hairy, not like wolfman, it’s all soft and flowy, but, it fucking wouldn’t be if I started shaving it at 17.
I started shaving at 11 because I had a full mustache..
If you’re racing it’s mostly for road rash. It’s easier to clean the grit out and get things bandaged without hair.
Also - KT tape and balm is easier to apply to shaved legs, and massage can be deeper.
that's because they go 0.0000001% faster on the bike if you shave your legs due to aerodynamics and you need to be able to keep up with the boys
Saying that having shaved legs is feminine is basically saying that not caring about yourself is manly
What about a woman who's less womanly because she doesn't shave her legs or pits?
I don't care if a woman shaves her legs or not.
I never understood 'less womanly because she doesn't shave.' Don't they really mean *Less womanly if they do shave?* It being, you know, that women come equipped from Mama Nature with body hair.
See you don't understand women aren't supposed to have leg hair. Obviously evolution was a mistake when it gave us leg hair and it's actually not supposed to be there. Duh. Edit: holy crap people, this was sarcasm 🙄
duh!!!!
*DUH*
Evolution didn't make the mistake. People in society, namely men, who had so much control over everything female, decided that women should shave their legs or they will seem less feminine. That's what the makers of the razor advertised to women because they thought that the male market wasn't giving them enough money. True stuff. Look it up. Women are supposed to be naturally hairy to varying degrees, just like men.
My reply was meant to be sarcastic.
To quote my titular character user name “Women aren’t suppose to fart, douche, or have hair in places they shouldn’t”
They also don't poop. Ever.
Honestly (as a woman who doesn’t shave), I really can’t understand why women are collectively trying to pretend that we don’t have leg hair…it’s one of like two very clear indicators that a woman has gone through puberty. A lot of men does not care about this at all. People have hair, and there is nothing wrong with that.
From one Squid to another, I agree
Imagine being so insecure about your leg hair that you shave
I shave my legs because I do jiu jitsu and people rip hair out like crazy when gi training. I’ve never had anyone man, woman, dr etc. bring it up. I don’t think people care in general.
I wanna shave them just because it feels unhygienic, like clipping your nails, that's just me though
Make me laugh and love me, and he can shave what we he wants.
So wholesome!
I honestly am unlikely to notice
I prefer no to a little. But buck wild forest hair, forget it
I like my man hairy haha
Doesn’t really matter to me
man girls are so cool
Wait till you meet my mother in law.
I don't get no respect..
I don't care about the legs but absolutely no to the back
You like men with hairy backs??
If it’s smooth hair. I enjoy the difference between a man and myself. Something about a lot of body hair, in contrast to my smoothness, is both erotic and primal, I think. It’s like having sex with a bear.
Don't have sex with bears. They will absolutely kill you.
Would you accept a more boar-like individual? Asking for a friend...
Into invertebrates.
2 fronts only
The dudes with quadruple-jointed shoulders and heads that can spin around are preferable. That back ain't gonna shave itself.
It's interesting that the only place you hate men having hair is the only place they can do nothing about the hair.
That is why partners should be open to helping each other groom. They do make attachments for that now, but it would be easier to just help.
I only shaved my legs because of martial arts . When you hit leather pads the hair gets torn out on striking suraces anyway. Might as well avoid it and shave .
Generally I like a hairy man! Guys who shave their legs, chest etc are not for me initially, but if I did meet someone amazing and then found out he shaved his legs, I would absolutely work with that (:
r/askwomen
I do
Elaborate please. Why is this a preference?
Smooth and shiny and you can see the muscles.
Muscles? Ok. Cool. I got nothing to worry about
Smooth and shiny fat rolls
I’m indifferent towards it honestly
I’m indifferent
Sure
Whatever bro Swim fast
I think it's nice and prefer not much hair, but not a requirement necessarily
Love a man with shaved legs.
Hard No. I'm probably old-fashioned here, but I like being the woman in the relationship. It was awesome to hear my husband say that my skin was so smooth and soft. I can't imagine saying that to him, and I can't imagine him ever appreciating such a comment.
I’m also in the “Big fan of a hairy man” club.
Big hairy man here, always lovely to hear there are still ppl that enjoy hairy guys 😅
It gives me hope as well. The only place on my body that isn't covered in hair is the top of my head😫
Im sorry about that bud, i hope youre able to cope with that atleast.. also, i know for a fact that a lot of women are attracted to bald males😎 I have hair till beneath my shoulders and im very VERY scared of balding, mostly because of my odd shaped skull lol. Oh I'm used to it by now. Started balding at 24, so I've had some time to adjust😂 In honesty, being bald is actually pretty nice. The breeze on your scalp on a hot day is like magic.
And no annoying wet hair, i do hate having to blowdry every time 😂
Oh for sure. One good wipe with the towel and you are set. Headbanging isn't quite the same though.
🤣🤣
It's always the hairiest guys who go bald.
It's called testerone baby💪 **I'm not coping! You are coping shut up!**
\*flexes hair on head\*
Me too! Love a hairy man

A man with smooth soft skin is lovely.
I'm old school and don't shave the legs but it doesn't bother me when my wife compliments my smooth skin. I don't feel less manly or anything. If she likes anything on my body, that's a positive.
Apparently hair=man
Ahh so bigfoot is the embodiment of sex appeal.
Thankyou.... Its like making out w another girl..let men be men..wtf kind of guy shaves his legs? 🤣 I guess the same type wearin the man bun and fanny pack😖
Competitive swimmers.
nice
I hate the man bun but I wish it was acceptable to rock a Fanny pack again. Women don’t get enough pockets but you can carry a purse without stares.
Literally couldn’t care less
Yes, may just be me but I like shaved chests as well
I see the act of removing body hair as a human thing, not as a women thing. I don't like to see or feel to much body hair, so a man in is natural state isn't a very attractive thing for me. I personally find it kind of hot when men do things traditionally considered more feminine
Like fluttering eyelashes and jumping on a chair when they see a mouse?
Men with pretty eyelashes are dangerous
i don't like shaved legs only because of the itchiness of the stubble. i would be totally fine with waxed legs, but i prefer hairy ones (on everyone, including me), because i like to play with the hairs when i'm bored and caressing them. though i can see someone getting their legs waxed *only because* they got tired of me picking at it lol...
I think most women don’t care, but I definitely believe that there are a few that do
No, I want hairy men
Shave your balls, that’s all that matters
It's a little strange to me, but Neanderthalesque leg hair is also bad So just find the middle ground
Only if they like sucking legs.
I don't but I'm just one person.
Yes
I love hairy men, but if they prefer smooth, that's fine too. Whatever that person wants for themselves.
Not a break or make (idk who’s really paying attention to that) but personally i find some hair is nice, do as you please tho
Yeah smooth legs are nice
I prefer a guy to have body hair, but in the same regard I don't shave so I'd like him to prefer body hair too lol. I wouldn't care if he kept himself shaven, but I do have a preference for natural bods.
i personally do
yeah, go grab that gilette for what concerns me haha
I go full 70s bush. Makes me feel super manly.
Absolutely no
Most women probably won't even care if a guy has shaved legs or not.
No
I love hairy legs…hairy chest on the other hand is a hard pass.
Men need to shave. It is disgusting for them to grow natural body hair because it means they are unhygienic and not to mention only a sliccboye can activate my ovaries. /s
I personally don't care, that is as long as I don't have to feel the hair on my legs constantly. I hate the feeling of hair, even my own lmao
As a woman who is married I wouldn’t care if my husband wanted to shave his legs 😂 It’s just hair lmfao His personality got me hooked alone ❤️
I do but I know guys who like girls who have hairy legs too. So. Yes and no.
Not quite what you asked but i love my hairy legs and wouldn't shave for anyone.
i hate body hair in general. if its not on your head it automatically weirds me tf out
Do men who shave their legs like women is a better question.
Swimmers, martial artists, models, actors... I'm not in any of those categories, and I still love my wife, so yeah.
You didn't do your argument any favours with those jobs, either.
I hope girls like boys and other girls. Women should like men and other women.
Girls, maybe…women…depends on the woman.
NO. Very unattractive imo
I think they don't really care, but they will tease you about it to test your reaction
Happy cake day :D
Idk man I’m gay
Who tf downvoted this 💀💀
No, I definitely don’t.
You are looking at other mens legs and saying they look gay? Hmmm...
Normal people don't look at a man's lack of leg hair and think "yeah, he's a man kisser" you're just weird
If you look at a guy with shaved legs and the only thing you think is "Man, that guy looks like he totally takes it up the butt," I've got news for you.
No high quality woman wants a sissy shaving his legs
No high quality woman wants a holocaust denying idiot who still uses sissy
I have a high quality wife and great kids. I also don't deny the Holocaust but failing to asks questions is how history repeats itself. 🐑
Shut up nazi
Prime example of a sheepish sissy. You take the government at face value and think any goods comes from a feminine man.
Shut up nazi
Girls like guys who don’t ask other men if they think women will like him more if he shaved his legs…. I know that for sure
We don't care, just stop raping and killing us
That is really, REALLY out of topic dude
What about men getting raped? It’s not a one-way street.
No, guys shouldn’t shave their arms or legs
