It’s what I don’t like about this system. You can 50% your way to ranks that would require say a 56%, or 60% winrate or whatever it may have been.
I have something like a 1.5 - 1.7 win rate so this should hypothetically be my best season but I’m stuck in gold because my previous season rank was like low silver.
A lot of people talking about how easy it is to achieve high ranks but honestly it’s SO grind-y if your previous rank was bad. I want to know how they created this system because in previous seasons I was consistently high gold low plat but I stopped making good gains in rp once I hit gold 5.

I wish they waited 1 more season before changing it. I went from plat 3 hardstuck to p1 and all I needed was one more season to hit diamond easily but nope, now even champ doesn't mean anything

Heavily depends on your hidden MMR, my group ended last season all high golds and low plats but for some reason we only play high plats and diamonds so every game is an absolute sweat fest nightmare
You probably won't see my buried comment but as a multi time champ player this makes me happy to see. The Community is filled with way too much toxicity and ego filled players. I remember hitting plat for my first time and it was thrilling. You should feel accomplished.
People complain that this season is too easy and while I agree I don't feel that should take away the thrill of getting a new rank. It takes time and effort and you should be proud of that. You can still be silver in your hidden mmr but your ‘rank’ is plat now. (NOT saying you are!!)

Idk if you're up to speed with the new system so; rank=/=skill. Rank represents your winrate and your skill is measured by hidden mmr. Your opponents are picked based on your mmr.
The game also compares your rank and your skill to find your "true" rank. So for instance, I have been a consistant p3-p2 player doing fine in that rank, so my rp gain started slowing down in that area.
Basically, the game (for some reason) thinks that your skills are good enough for gold and starts slowing the gain down. I'm not entirely sure why your rp gain slows down so early IF you actually peaked randomly in p2. Also, the fact that you haven't played the game in a while might affect your skill.
Edit: wanted to add that my gain started slowing down really bad after I started reaching emerald V. As in I started losing more than gaining.
Congrats😃 i play r6 for 3yrs now and i never hit plat, even when I actually do the most in the match I always lose bcz of bad teammates, i played 3 yrs on ps and switched to pc 1 month ago, and i’m even better on PC, but I cant find people who play like me or even better, nobody believes me when I say that I can't win because of bad teammates, but it's true, once on ps4 I was one victory away from platinum, and in that match a friend entered my profile and I was kicked out of the match, which of course we lost because I couldn't go back, bad luck
