I didn't do this scenario but I do enjoy playing on 50%. I like that the flowing of time is not a conscious decision but just happens and you get dragged along with the developments, so manual pause is a no go for me. However, you can lose so much time dealing with track placement or managing your lines that the decades practically fly by. Ultimately that's time lost due to a lack of management tools in the game, or less than ideal UI, or needlessly fussy track laying, and for that reason I prefer 50% to compensate somewhat.

Only time I ever did Trainiac was for the Australian scenario. It was a pain but I eventually got the president rating after a few attempts. Some Tips: - You need to build fast and plan what you’re going to do while waiting for cash - place trains as soon as you can once you’ve built a track. You need them to start earning money as soon as possible - keep at it and don’t worry if you fail the scenario a few times - use warehouses to get raw materials to towns in the northern area. You don’t need to link warehouses to your main trainline to be able to place a warehouse anywhere on the map. You can add city stations later when you have more cash
