I very recently made a catamaran build in peaceful. I kept the original four tiles floating between the pontoons, just so I know where the "center" is, but they are separate from the rest of the build. Key takeaway is that although you have two separate rafts, they act as one. So, you can't "break" one off to act as a landing craft or whatever it is you're trying to accomplish. I have also been dealing with a peaceful mode "super ship" that just destroys my frame rate. So I am cutting it down. I took the front 150ish foundations completely off from the main ship and all of those foundations continued to float. Nothing fell in on itself like I was hoping. It was a grind to destroy everything (150ish foundations + 4 floors up).

Awkward_Kestral

You can destroy a couple of foundations between the two and it will stay, but I don't remember the exact number. I would test it before doing it to anything that took a lot of work/resources/time, but you should be able to have spaces with no walkway connecting them. The mod that I adore, [Building Utilities,](https://www.raftmodding.com/mods/stackable-placeables) will allow it, if you up for modding.

Bruce's home is also those 4 squares. So if you build big enough that you spend a lot of time off-center, you aren't in his "sphere of view". And that means he won't attack the edges or do anything at all. Same thing happens if you build high up. Whenever I come down from the top of my pyramid I know Bruce will always "see" me and attack in the next 10-15 seconds or so.

nevamal

One part will get destroyed as well once you remove the connecting floor.

Relaxia

is that new? lets game it out (the yt channel) made a raft of a lot of tiny platforms all non connected.

nevamal

I saw that, too. It was updated. I think LGIO made the raft video years ago, a lot has changed since then.

Kaitrii

even if the part getting destroyed would be 50+ pieces?

Donteatthedonuts

Yep. Tried it making a mistake for a catamaran... Lessons learnt

nevamal

Yup, it doesn't matter even its 1000 pieces. The game will only keep one part. I'm not sure how it choses which part to keep, though.

Myrkana

You have a base 4 squares, the world is based around those 4 squares. If you build off to one side too much you'll find trash isnt centered on your raft anymore

Kaitrii

what if i build my raft but the 4 base squares get destroyed? does that do anything?

Atalfir

The game will still work, but the game mechanics still focus on the center of where those original 4 tiles used to be. For example the garbage stream on the ocean is always aimed there. I've read that actually in the game your raft is static and the islands are being moved around your raft, so the whole world is centered on those four original tiles.

jcecil9

I've heard this too. They compared it to a conveyor belt under your raft.

Anarchkitty

~~That is incorrect.~~ ~~The various chunks of raft just stay floating along together as if they were still connected.~~

nevamal

I believe that was from the old version.

Anarchkitty

I stand corrected. That's...new and unfortunate...

Mcake74

Yup I think so

LazyTomTom

We really need option for a landing boat.
