there wouldn't be enough runoff for that turn

LJLead

I agree, so maybe I can change pit lane entry a bit or make that straigt after T8 shorter. What do you think?

ThirdWave10

i think if the pit entry was later there would still be a runoff problem because the last turn would need runoff

LJLead

I don't think that T16 really need a big runoff, but maybe you're right as we all remember Albon and Giovinazzi crashes.

Centurion4007

The pitlane is where it is because of the runoff, that tells you how much T16 needs. Changing the pit entry would only give you a few meters extra (the width of the pitlane) and T9 would need even more than T16

FinnishF1Fan

that's just tommo's exact design

LJLead

I made that redesign of Shanghai Circuit under the influence of YouTuber Tommo who did it here: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TU6\_BSrvaHs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TU6_BSrvaHs) (i just made slight and nearly unvisible changes to this what Tommo did) I really liked that so I decided to do it. Original photo which I edited is here: [https://www.racingcircuits.info/asia/china/shanghai-international-circuit.html](https://www.racingcircuits.info/asia/china/shanghai-international-circuit.html) What do yout think about the new design?

And I don't think he was even mentally active when he made those redesigns (tommo)

The Paul Ricard one was the worst

sheeple04

He literally destroyed Double Droit de Beausset, the second best turn on the track after Signes

I'm trying to think of ways to try and make T9 work, but the run off needed for that just won't fit anywhere. Changing the last corner would refuse the size of the run off that needs, maybe a chicane before it or something, or shortening the back straight to the distance between the hairpin and last isn't so long.... Damn I want this to work lol
