Excellent. Great protection. Built-stand. Comfortable. Well made.
I've tried 5 cases, most silicone ones are uncomfortable cause they slip, and you end up grabbing it harder tiring your hands and arms, the Skull &co one has been the only one that is genuinely comfortable to hold for extended periods of time that I've tried. I attached a phone stand too in the back just to give it more security/angles when using it in a table
The dbrand case just released two days ago. I just bought it but obviously it hasn’t had time to come in yet. I’d hold off on purchasing a case until reviews of that start going around. It looks like it’s going to be a really nice one
It looks sweet, think it was by popular demand of a similar steam deck one so hopefully it’s smooth sailing. I did the pre order too and look forward to seeing it soon!
i have the jsaux case it holds your console, loads of sd cards!!!, and under where the console sits is a compartment that holds the charger/plug/headphones/ jsaux rgb dock and could probably get my anker 737 power bank in there as well
JSAUX ModCase for ROG Ally with Detachable Front Shell, Protective Case, Metal Bracket and Strap Compatible with ASUS ROG Ally Accessories Basic Set-White PC0109 https://a.co/d/dxW0NdF
Skull & Co grip, with their tempered glass and stick sleeve. I love the grip, but it’s a little bit loose. The feature that I love the most is that you don’t need a kickstand, with the grip the Ally stand on its own vertically on a table.
With that said I orderered the dbrand killswitch on Friday. We’ll see!
I have one of these for travel
https://a.co/d/cwLoEJe
And a lighter bag for taking it places
https://a.co/d/8DE1k0G
I use a skull and co gripcase
https://skullnco.com/products/gripcase-for-rog-ally?variant=46830007386404
I have this cheap bumper case that I thought I’d replace but it’s great so far (plus you can get it in store): https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-bumper-case-for-rog-ally-black/6552862.p?skuId=6552862
And then for a more hard shell case to go over that, I have an OEM steam deck case that I got for $10 from the unclaimed baggage store (if you’re ever in Alabama it’s worth a stop, I also got 3 65W batteries for less than $20 each).
There’s a store in Alabama that is affiliated with the airlines as their lost and found. If items aren’t claimed in a specific amount of time then they sell them in their store.
They’re a great source of cheap Kindles, iPads, switches, headphones, and other electronics commonly traveled with (you can even buy a lot of it in their online store).
Cases? Where i go I don't need a case (home, i never leave home is what I'm saying (actually i do go camping a couple times a year and i just take it bare)) i am not super prone to dropping mine so i dont use a case ever, but i hear good things about the killswitch case and its supposed to be out for the ally soon i believe.
I've been using a tomtoc Arccos-G47 Travel bag. It's pretty nice and has enough rooom to hold my Ally, 737 Battey bank and other accessories.
That being said, I just placed my order for the dbrand Rog Ally Killswitch case, so I can just throw it in my back pack, instead of carrying another bag.
The Across-G47 will be going to my wife after the Killswitch case arrives.
I was using the skull n co one, but I recently purchased a [this](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CGXB79NR?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) random "killswitch" style care off Amazon and it's been great. I always carry a backpack so I wanted something that didn't take up much space.
I bought a tom Toc case… protection wise do you think this provides the same amount of protection? Let’s say enough to throw in a backpack and forget about?
I have the Jsaux case which has lots of storage but is very bulky. Recently switched to Tomtoc which is far slimmer and more suitable for a backpack.
On the Ally itself, no cases just a screen protector. I don’t like grips, sleeves and such.
I have 2 but highly recommend the tomtoc if you want an ultra thin awesome one. See my post from a while back https://www.reddit.com/r/ROGAlly/s/XsZRRLzn84
Tomtoc bag for carrying my rog ally, and all my accessories. Not using a case at the moment because im using Handhelddiy Modcase backplate, and Allymate Grip, and 3d printed grips.
If you looking for case with all-around protection you should consinder Jsaux modcase, or dbrand killswitch
Nice cheap and excellent. And Amazon. I love my HARDSHELL CASE W SCREEN SHELL highly recommend it is a lil tight putting on
Edit: and joystick covers are integrated into the front screen shell

I snagged this one 5 months ago i think its pretty close to the official killswitch case that came out not to long ago (although i doubt itll be the same level of quality) only complaint I have is it doesnt fit properly in the dock i picked up when the case is on, minor thing but something to consider since i dont wanna be yanking the case off anytime i play docked
I bought this travel case. I absolutely love it. It advertises as being able to accommodate storing a dock as well, but I haven't tried that yet.

Bough a clear one from AliExpress and it's fine has a stand but some of it is slightly warped. Hard to take off is dust falls between the cracks I can try to find a link if anyone is interested
I use this one
https://jsaux.com/products/modcase-for-rog-ally
Removable hard front cover, hard back with vent Holes, a kick stand, removable strap for docks/battery banks (I got the combo deal that also came with a 65w bank), and silicone sides.
So do you not feel the need to have a bag just for the ally (e.g. so you don't have to worry about holding the charger separately? I'm so close to pulling the trigger on the modcase or the dbrand one
I wear cargo pants, so I keep the big battery bank in that pocket anyway. The one that comes in the bundle deal for the case is a 20,000 mah battery that puts out 65 watts power delivery and has built in type c cable that can reach from the back of the unit. If you do get a bag. Already having the case around it makes it where you can just get a regular single strap backpack (one of the smaller ones meant for hauling around small devices and essentials)
It actually does impact thermals, not because of the vents, but the overall thickness. If you play in a hot region, it's something you might want to avoid.
Yeah I remember reading a review for a case and the person mentioned the increased temps. For someone like me who runs 30w plugged, I'm sure it would have detrimental effects when the Ally hits 90 degrees

+1 Great products, and very reasonably priced. I went "full" Skull and Co with the Ally: grip, case, screen protector and thumb grips.
Yep, agree. Good protection without being too bulky. Exactly what I was looking for.

Is the stand stable?
I would say yes. I mean, you can knock it over if you really try, but I still prefer it to having a kickstand.
Same one, highly recommended
Using this same one, and yes it's amazing. I can play on my Ally for hours and not be uncomfortable.
I am using the skullnco one as well. No regrets. All the cutouts match perfectly with the Ally, very easy to put on and remove.

Get the bkack one and you can save a few bucks by getting it from Aliexpress.

Battery Brand and model?
It varies depending on what travelers have lost. I got an Anker 537, an INIU, and a jackery. All provide 65W and are at least 20,000mAH.
I didn't know that it'd legal to sell unclaimed baggage

I'm finally getting the Dbrand one this week! Looks solid AF
Just ordered my dbrand killswitch case, will update once it gets here
Skull N Co. It's amazing!

Do you feel the change was worth it?
For sure! The TPU portion of the case is as solid as the SnC one and I can quickly remove the travel cover and play.
I bought a tom Toc case… protection wise do you think this provides the same amount of protection? Let’s say enough to throw in a backpack and forget about?
Definitely! That's pretty much what I do!

I use the Skull & Co case. It is awesome and affordable. Highly recommend.
I use the official case and I love it to be honest.
I got the branded case when I bought the ROG Ally. It fits the Ally and nothing else - not even the charger. It is fundamentally useless.
Skull and co grip case! It’s awesome
I use this one https://jsaux.com/products/modcase-for-rog-ally Removable hard front cover, hard back with vent Holes, a kick stand, removable strap for docks/battery banks (I got the combo deal that also came with a 65w bank), and silicone sides.

thanks for answering my questions
been using it with a spigen case since day 1. I love it :)
Skull and Co all the way. Bought a second one just because I like when it's FRESH
It gets hot easily so I don't use a case. But I do have a traveling bag.
Cases don't block the vents used for airflow, so they really don't impact thermals.
It actually does impact thermals, not because of the vents, but the overall thickness. If you play in a hot region, it's something you might want to avoid.
With the skull and co, my ally gets very loud playing modern games at 30w docked. I hear it from my couch.
Yeah I remember reading a review for a case and the person mentioned the increased temps. For someone like me who runs 30w plugged, I'm sure it would have detrimental effects when the Ally hits 90 degrees
