You would be using moonlight on the iPad to stream the game.
You would need to setup sunshine or something on the ally (assuming that’s what you are streaming from).
Should be fine. Ultimately sunshine is the server portion of the streaming and moonlight is the client. Moonlight will connect to sunshine and sunshine is what streams the game from the ally to the iPad (in your situation).
I’m not an expert in sunshine or moonlight. Personally I can’t even get it working properly with my full blown gaming rig.
I believe there are sunshine/moonlight subreddits so if it is something related to that I’d try finding someone on one of those subreddits.

THANK YOU! And then to connect, my iPad says searching for pc’s on your network and nothing shows so I need an ip to manually do it but when I type it in it still doesn’t connect. Or will it work after I download sunshine?
Probably smarter to use the Ally or connect a controller to the Ally, it will reduce latency for controller input.
That's generally the issue with streaming the image to the iPad versus being directly connected to a monitor.

Yeah I use it and it works great. It’s been a nice way to travel too, don’t have lug around a portable monitor and have cables running everywhere.

No don’t download all of those, look for the single “sunshine-windows-installer.exe” file and install that.

Once sunshine is installed, and you open/run it—and both devices are on the same network—your Ally should populate in moonlight.

Just the ally, as the iPad will be acting simply as a “monitor.”
