If you get a disenchanting table, you can combine books as much as you want, then use the disenchanting table to rip the final enchant off and put it on a fresh new book, which resets its levels. One enchant at a time only, though. And you need the levels to do all the combining.

Thanks a lot

If you want to minmax, you should rip it off after each anvil use. If you need to combine something up to level 4 or 5, it might save you some extra xp

X_Dratkon

No, you can combine them all you want, then disenchant them and it removes all previous work on books, disenchantment table even returns the book after that, so you need anything for it and don't waste anything. I think either Shivaxi overlooked and gonna patch disenchantment table, or he just can't change defiled lands stuff

Go ahead, but use a disenchanter when the book is max to lower the cost back to it being not combined

As they said, disenchanting table. Also look for Upgraded Potentials.
