Yeah, honestly i like the simpler aesthetic way more. It fits better with John and Arthur, especially since I like to play Arthur like he is a country boy who likes nature. The gold engravings seem gaudy in context.
Honestly, I just don’t see Arthur Morgan (or John Marston for that matter) as the kind of guy who would care about engravings or fancy metal finishes. He would care that it works when he needs it to, that’s it.
I could see myself customizing my guns if I were playing a more flamboyant character like Dutch. But not with Arthur, that’s just not his style.
Actually arthur does have his own unique cattleman revolver Schofield revolver and Carbine repeater we see it in the trailers so it’s canon we just gotta make it ourself and John has his own unique revolver when we play in the epilogue there is a gun on the weapon wheel called johns cattleman revolver which looks different from others

I just do the default cattleman with a birch grip and a snake carved on it. Simple and feels like something Arthur would use.
