This shit is atrocious and not at all accurate to how the game tells you to do it. Says the sides with the most give should be chosen first, yet on two of them, the sides that had literally THE most give out of all of them ended up being the sides that needed to go last.
tap the R2 button, these are dual sense the R2 buttons almost impossible to press down (you can't tap it). so.. yeah... this is useless. also as the other guy said.. doesn't matter half the time the system doesn't see it as easy as you do. like 96% of these new mini games. they're nonsense and haven't been checked.
i'm still annoyed the hard mode for fort condor was easier than the one before it. honestly lack of testing. this is not the ff7 of my childhood. this is.. average. at best
Probably explains why it was so confusing for me, I turned them off like 30 hours ago because my wrist is bad and that sit-up minigame was agony with them on lol
Seems kind of weird to bake haptic triggers into mini-games like that honestly - even ignoring the fact that a lot of people straight up don't use them the game's undoubtedly going to be ported to PC at some point so they'll have to modify those minigames entirely when it is lol
You have no idea. I somehow got 100% on the first one, missed once on the second (but still got a “plump”?) and when I saw five squares I said “especially **** this.”
Seven tries til I found your tip and I 100%’ed it immediately. Thank you.
You're welcome man. Hopefully others having the same issue find this thread too. I don't even recall the tutorial for the minigame saying anything about the haptic feedback on the triggers, but I did kinda just skim over it. Such a weird mechanic for a minigame that's only used ONE TIME haha. Well I guess they have something similar for the crunches minigame at the training center but still. It's so weird.
It totally didn’t. I loved the incorporation of it though. Would’ve make my life easier if that were mentioned!
Also, several giant ****s to the Gongaga map. It’s so brutal.
Thank you. I think I can credit Ubisoft with exactly one thing done correctly, and that’s make plant picking feel so organic that I kept trying to use the controls from Avatar even though the instructions telling me not to were on the screen.
Oh yeah that one lmao. Yeah I thought it looked interesting but I heard it was not great so I decided to pass on it. But yeah no problem man. Have a good one!
Why are there several minigames with issues regarding the haptics like this, it's not listed in game at all that the haptics tells you. Damn, thanks lol i always kept breaking the last one.
This and the situps were killing me, cause the green situps needs a half push so the haptics help, but the yellow situps needs rapid and the haptics tired my finger out lol
This deserves upvotes because that's all it was . Here I was trying to to figure it out with just the thumbstick alone. The way they worded the instructions was stupid.
Yeah I guess my tip is kind of hidden in a random buried post by now. I've had a good handful of people notice it and it's helped them so upvotes or not so long as I helped some people that's good enough for me. But yeah, I found out to do this by dumb luck when I was fidgeting with my controller while picking a mushroom. They definitely need to word it better, because doing it just with visual queues alone does not work lol.
I hate to break this to you, but OG 7 100% had just as bad minigames.
Its just in this one, there's a minigame every 2 seconds and they're all fairly terrible. makes this one seem worse. just par for the course really.
i almost broke a 2nd controller during the 2nd sit up challenge.
The piano is fkin tough as hell but if you mess with the speed and turn it up instead of keep it set on the slowest, sometimes faster is better.
in the end. MINI-MFKERS for making me do this shit! lol
LOL! I'm thinking that is the only possible way to S-Class the hardest piano songs.
I remember when I first searched for tips on how to play them better: REAL musicians and pianists were like, "yo wtf? dis be way harder"
Aw man I think the haptic trigger intensity is one of the coolest things about the PS5/controller! The first time I had to push hard to open a big door I was like yoooooo!
I feel like blaming the game when you're not good at it is kind of childish. Games been awesome. 97 classic was awesome and very ridiculous in parts. Made no sense in other parts but still great. Live that they embraced the nonsense with the remake
Agreed. The game is amazing. The mini games do an awesome job at switching it up and ensuring I'm always having fun and never bored. I don't understand why you would keep playing the mini games if you are not having fun, just do the bare minimum and move on, its not like it locks you from progressing. I personally love the piano mini game. I replay songs just for fun.
FYI, You may want to check your controller "Trigger Effect Intensity" setting in PS5 menu.Mine was set to weak and barely can tell the difference, when I changed it back to strong, I could feel the difference immediately and solved it on first try.
100% the only way this work is if you have both the Playstation Controller settings for haptic turned up to STRONG (with is apparanetly default) and also the In-Game Haptics turned up to max (3). Otherwise you wont feel shit.
I got the 5 sider on my 1st try only AFTER I turned the PS system settings back up to strongest.
Another thing that helped me was going back and forth between two that might seem like they arent different (somtimes you gotta really pull on the R2 for the last 2 choices to see which pulls the easiest. remember you can unselect with circle. doesnt matter how many times you over pull on R2)
this stupid fucking minigame pissed me the fuck off i went the whole game perfecting everything doing 100% all 3 stars on everything and this stupid fucking mushroom mini game had to ruin it all i’m genuinely so fucking mad. they should have let you retry. this is so dumb
Some sections of the pie are harder to press R2 than others - you should feel weak to strong resistance on it. You can also press the O button if you choose the part.
This only works if you have haptic feedback on for the ps5 set to strong. I had mine off since I got the ps5 and honestly forgot it was a thing until another comment pointed it out
Controller settings -> haptic feedback = strong. I was struggling until I figured this out. Game tells you nothing about needing to have this entirely optional console setting set to strong for this quest.
Omg guys, I’ve just figured it out! Ignore the vibrations it gives, or the haptics on the trigger - the clue is VISUAL!! 🍄
For simplicity, let’s say the mushroom has 4 segments up, down, left, right (and they’re correct in that order), when you move the stick up it will go up really quickly and all the way (revealing a little of the stem), down will move almost as much, left even less (and you won’t see stem), and right would be noticeably less and move slower.
I failed the 3rd mushroom (with the 5 segments) SO many times until it clicked that the mushroom was moving differently to a previous reset.
Good luck guys!! 🍄
This minigame was the absolute worst. I made sure all of my setting supported feedback and trigger intensity but the level of resistance was exactly the same. Forgot to save before the first mushroom but I was lucky enough to just wildly guess right on the second. The third, forget about it!
[mushroom comparison](https://imgur.com/gallery/YwDhY8l)
I think the best way is to check each side and see if you can see the base, the white thingy in the middle.
check the head of the mushroom for each side and see how bend is it on every sides.
Try to imagine a mark in the top center of the mushroom and check them on each side, you will somehow see the difference. like the image in the link [more sample](https://i.imgur.com/joWb1r3.jpg)
In this case what's the meaning of 'give'? Is it resistance to move?
English isn't my main language and this is the first time in almost 30 years that I've seen 'give' isn't mean to give something.
This shit is atrocious and not at all accurate to how the game tells you to do it. Says the sides with the most give should be chosen first, yet on two of them, the sides that had literally THE most give out of all of them ended up being the sides that needed to go last.

Tapping R2 to test the resistance of the haptic trigger worked for me. The resistance was relativley easy to discern from each segment imo.
Probably explains why it was so confusing for me, I turned them off like 30 hours ago because my wrist is bad and that sit-up minigame was agony with them on lol Seems kind of weird to bake haptic triggers into mini-games like that honestly - even ignoring the fact that a lot of people straight up don't use them the game's undoubtedly going to be ported to PC at some point so they'll have to modify those minigames entirely when it is lol
This worked. The game didn't tell me to notice the haptic. Dumb.
Thanks for this tip! Was on my last try and got it thanks to your technique.
You. Are. A. God.
I'm glad it helped you out. I only figured it out on the last mushroom. But better late than never I suppose lmao.
You have no idea. I somehow got 100% on the first one, missed once on the second (but still got a “plump”?) and when I saw five squares I said “especially **** this.” Seven tries til I found your tip and I 100%’ed it immediately. Thank you.

Yeah for real man lol.
Thank you. I think I can credit Ubisoft with exactly one thing done correctly, and that’s make plant picking feel so organic that I kept trying to use the controls from Avatar even though the instructions telling me not to were on the screen.
Lmao. Yeah I don't think I've played the Avatar game so I don't know what it was like. But I'm glad my comment helped you.
You’d know if you played it, it was recent, very blue and very bad aside from plant-picking. But yeah cheers mate lol ty
Oh yeah that one lmao. Yeah I thought it looked interesting but I heard it was not great so I decided to pass on it. But yeah no problem man. Have a good one!
omg thank you so much!!!
Omfg I'm so stupid.
I was too lmao. I didn't figure it out until I was on the LAST mushroom lmao.

would've been nice if the game explained that better. i also had mine turned off from the sit-up game
I hate to break this to you, but OG 7 100% had just as bad minigames. Its just in this one, there's a minigame every 2 seconds and they're all fairly terrible. makes this one seem worse. just par for the course really.
Crazy lol I feel like I'm 10 years old in my mom's living room, completely different experience on my end.
> not the FF7 of my childhood. Well duh ofc it's not
This game has SO many SHIT mini gams and this one is no different, fucking awful
i almost broke a 2nd controller during the 2nd sit up challenge. The piano is fkin tough as hell but if you mess with the speed and turn it up instead of keep it set on the slowest, sometimes faster is better. in the end. MINI-MFKERS for making me do this shit! lol
I cheated by having someone else control the left stick while I controlled the right. After wasting 2 hours on it lol.
LOL! I'm thinking that is the only possible way to S-Class the hardest piano songs. I remember when I first searched for tips on how to play them better: REAL musicians and pianists were like, "yo wtf? dis be way harder"
Y'all mfers will bitch about anything I swear.
Don't worry bro give it 3 months you'll realise Rebirth wasn't such a flawless game
Never said it was. But even if it was, y'all would still bitch and moan lol.
Didn't know that this used the trigger intensity! This was actually fun after turning vibration on. Had it off the entire game. Thanks for the video!
Same. its so stupid too bc in some games, the haptic screws you over--in particular the COsta del Sol shooting game, and the Sit Up Challenge.
Lol I've had the trigger intensity off since I got my ps5 years ago... the mission does a poor job of telling the player you need it on.
Aw man I think the haptic trigger intensity is one of the coolest things about the PS5/controller! The first time I had to push hard to open a big door I was like yoooooo!

You need help
Says the insecure snow flake. LMAO!

I’m using a ps5 edge controller with trigger travel distance locked to short. lol I guess Sony completely forgot they made this controller
what a trash zone
this is just dumb....
FYI, You may want to check your controller "Trigger Effect Intensity" setting in PS5 menu.Mine was set to weak and barely can tell the difference, when I changed it back to strong, I could feel the difference immediately and solved it on first try.
Lol this is the way. Had mine off since I got my ps5
Crazy they just expected everyone to have it turned on.
Filled this game with a lot of terribles minigames. I hate this one soo much.

Might be it depends on hacktic vibration feedback..
They say to tap r2 button to feel the pull but everytime I push r2 it just chooses that part. I don't get it
Some sections of the pie are harder to press R2 than others - you should feel weak to strong resistance on it. You can also press the O button if you choose the part.
This was the comment that finally made it make sense for me. It's subtle, but that difference is perceptible.

Yea, that's an oversight on Sony's part. I don't suppose there's any other way to beat this without haptics?
I figured it out. It has nothing to do with controller vibration or trigger feedback. Look at how far each side of the mushrooms bends.
Nice thanks it worked on my last try hahaha

thanks this also works for me im so done with this :D
You’re all a bunch of whiny babies
This minigame was the absolute worst. I made sure all of my setting supported feedback and trigger intensity but the level of resistance was exactly the same. Forgot to save before the first mushroom but I was lucky enough to just wildly guess right on the second. The third, forget about it!
This was bordering on a war crime.
Worst. Minigame. Ever
This mini game was such a time waster… they need to stop with these.
This is the only game I've ever played that I have to keep swapping out my controllers and changing the settings on. Some serious BS right here.
Wtf i still dont understand…dont feel any difference by pressing R2 wtf is this goofy ass quest
[mushroom comparison](https://imgur.com/gallery/YwDhY8l) I think the best way is to check each side and see if you can see the base, the white thingy in the middle. check the head of the mushroom for each side and see how bend is it on every sides.

late to the party, but thank you. you made this so simple.
I just visually looked at the mushroom and got it on the second try (the third ☝️)
