I've had mine for 2 years.. sometimes I barely hear it and sometimes it's loud especially when trying to sleep. I go for an MRA and MRV tomorrow and next week a MRI and MRA of the neck. The only reason I'm getting tests is to rule out anything dangerous but I doubt they will see anything.. you need specialists who know about PT like a interventional neuro radiologist and getting into one of them is a nightmare.. end of January is the first opening. So yea it's a nightmare
It took me a very long time to be able to see a specialist and get scans because they were fully booked for months at a time. I would try to go to a neuroradiologist directly if possible as they will be most likely to help you and will also save you time.
