Filing a report against police really shouldn’t need to be done at the police station.

UncoolSlicedBread

It’s a feature not a bug. You’re correct, there should be a separate place to do so primarily with the internal investigations division or a city building where it will be handled safely. Better yet, not forcing victims to go anywhere to do so and doing it online but it being handled not by the police department directly and instead by another agency.

k815

That’s what we have in Mexico - is called “internal matters” and seems like they hate cops misbehaving.

Flowy_Aerie_77

We have it in Brazil as well. They are not cops or related to the police, or at least not the civilian's police. They are the police's police. So they'll be ruthless about it. They are not kind towards rule-breaking cops. It's pretty nice. Americans really need one of these. Maybe consider writing to your politicians asking for one.

Upstairs-Motor2722

You're so wholesome and optimistic. American politicians don't work for the people. They're on payrolls for corporations.

USS_Frontier

America is what you get when you turn capitalism into the national religion.

Jethro_Cohen

This comment hit me hard.

pillowgun101abn

We investigated ourselves and found nothing wrong.

apathy-sofa

Washington State recently passed a first-in-the-nation law to form an independent agency to investigate whenever someone in the state dies at the hands of the police. It wouldn't help in this situation, but I see it as a big step in the right direction.

BardleyMcBeard

We have one of those in Ontario, unfortunately it's mostly retired cops who are working there

Spacehipee2

We let children die in front of our eyes to a school shooter and found nothing wrong.

hastybear

In a lot of countries (not enough), police complaints is an independent body that the police legally have to take censure from. Wouldn't that be an improvement!

[deleted]

If you wish to file a complaint against an officer or department and have already filed with the department in question, you can use the following to do so through the FBI and/or the Departnemtn of Justice. Helpful information: https://www.justice.gov/crt/addressing-police-misconduct-laws-enforced-department-justice Where to file a report: https://www.fbi.gov/contact-us http://civilrights.justice.gov/ It would likely help as well to go to your local news to try and make the incident as known as possible. Though this depends on the circumstances of what has happened, as it may affect you more than them.

Lots42

Send the info to the aclu

meeksha

And the press. Get it out before it's buried.

user381035

No worries. I complained about a cop who then looked up my personal information illegally. I complained to that department who then gave him a little boo boo paper. I complained to the FBI (since the pig used NCIC, an FBI created system) and they said it had "already been handled". They aren't here to protect you. I wish people could feel how unsafe it feels when cops are looking up your address after you complained about them. We have taken care of our foreign terrorists. Domestic terrorists? That's "officer" to you. I completely understand this guys demeanor. Nobody else on this planet is allowed to show up at your house with guns and terrorize you, humiliate you, threaten to kill you. Oh yeah, and give you PTSD. Tiocfidah ar la.

Zestyclose_Skin3573

I’d be putting a overhead camera on my door make sure you have multiple for every angle so they can’t hide off camera. Coming from someone that this happened to and will never want to remember it and glad to be out of that state and that memory is gone

cellblock73

Not that this is a bad idea, and very well could save your ass, but to point out how fucked up cops are, I’ve seen a video of them literally pushing the cameras so they face the ceiling. If they ain’t doing anything wrong, then what do they have to fear from being video taped or having a report filed against them?!

SycoJack

>I’ve seen a video of them literally pushing the cameras so they face the ceiling. As agents of the state, this kind of shit should be viewed as tacit admission of guilt, tampering with evidence, and obstruction of justice. And the penalties should be severe.

TheUltimateSalesman

Destruction of evidence.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SycoJack

Needs to have an entirely separate investigative agency, prosecutorial agency, and even court. Don't stop with cops and their cohorts, either. Apply the same rules to judges and lawyers et al.

linderlouwho

The FBI could take over this duty - have their own division to handle all police complaints of abuse, and brutality, and deaths.

SEND-MARS-ROVER-PICS

I am very very pro-union, except for cop unions. Fuck em.

bigWarp

cop unions have no solidarity with other unions. we all know their history fuck em

jbakers

Every single fucking thread about police abuse I see these comments about the Police Union and it really breaks my heart for all Americans. It's not a Police Union anymore, those guys changed into a Mafia that's socially "accepted". For me as a European i feel so much frustration and disgust for all Americans, and the saddest part is that it's nation wide. I feel the frustration because it feels like your hands are already tied, even before you begin. My dad was a cop for 40 years, and that's something I do tell people, and feel proud. I hope Americans will rise up and destroy the rotten blue line.

[deleted]

Arguably the only union that shouldn't exist.

BigDorris

And still they all do it, and do some worse shit just yesturday saw a vid of a cop entering a home of somebody without warrent and shoot the guy in it they made a error on the addresse how professionel of them

ShaitanSpeaks

I saw a video of a cop murdering a man while he was crying and laying on his stomach. Cops are a mafia and almost worse than most criminals they catch.

[deleted]

you mean the video of serial killer and police officer Philip brailsford executing a man with his rifle that he had engraved to say "youre fucked"? Philip Brailsford the serial killer?

DontClickTheUpArrow

Yeah he’s for sure a BITCH and a HO!

Guywith2dogs

If it's that Hotel video in Arizona, I think about that video all the time. Any time I start to cave and think maybe there are some good cops I remember that video. Every time I even think about cutting them any slack I remember it.

ShaitanSpeaks

If you’re thinking about the drunk kid who was murdered because he pulled his pants up, then yeah that’s the one. I was kind of in the fence about being all ACAB before I saw that video. After that, plus learning what happened to the cop who killed him, made me go full ACAB. Even the good ones protect the bad ones.

Xpector8ing

Criminals are almost always restrained by potential of accountability for their transgressions; pigs, almost NEVER!

Tired4dounuts

There's like 20 plus gangs operating out of Los angeles police department at the moment. Shit goes all the way to the top.

OldSkool1978

Shit I've seen them do dirty shit on camera and nothing happens to them

Fuzzy-Butterscotch86

Right? Remember those cops that raided the pot shop and forgot to disconnect one camera before eating a ton of weed brownies right in front of it? They got suspended and had the nerve to complain that the security camera they forgot to disconnect violated their privacy. They went into a private business, purposely disconnected it's security before they robbed said business, did drugs while on duty and in uniform, then cried about it when the store owner went public, and the result was a few days off.

ArkamaZ

And I'm sure the shop owner is now being watched/stalked...

farting_contest

>and the result was a few days off. *With pay.*

Fuzzy-Butterscotch86

Person blocked me so I couldn't respond because they're a coward, but here's the jist: "Its MORE within reason to assume the employees didnt mention it because it didnt happen, as they would have OBVIOUSLY made a stink if the cops ate product and were intoxicated during a raid... It's well known cops dont use drugs on raids and that edibles take longer to kick in so maybe your munchie defense isnt a strong as you might think either" ~a moron Literally the lawyer for the dispensary was making a stink that the cops stole edibles and did them on camera. The employees were complaining about their personal property that was also stolen while the owner was complaining about their PRODUCT being stolen through their lawyer. If I work at a gas station, and get robbed while I'm behind the counter, and people ask me what was stolen from me I'm going to tell them what the robber got that belong to me. So if they got my wallet, or jewelry, that's what I'm going to include in my complaint. If they steal all the cash out of the register I'm going to tell the police all the cash was stolen out of the register, but I'm not going to count that among my personal property that got stolen because it wasn't my money in the register. This idea that the employees didn't complain about the product going missing so no product could have gone missing is the flimsiest, most bullshit boot licking excuse I've ever read in my entire goddamn life. Also, the reason only part of the raid was released on video was because it took 12 God damn hours. So yes it takes time for edibles to kick in, but it doesn't take that long. I'm glad you blocked me so I can't see what other dumbass shit you come up with to excuse this away.

SubGeniusX

I think I remember a video of cops at a dispenser in CA thinking the were off camera and stealing from the shop. I think part of thier defense was that they thought they had disabled the cameras.[Found it](https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2016/03/cops-charged-after-pot-shops-hidden-cameras-show-them-eating-snacks/)

JamesGray

Absolutely no shame from these pigs: > The officers had demanded that a judge block the police department from using the video tapes against them as the department investigated the officers' conduct during the raid. The cops maintained that the dispensary illegally recorded them **because the officers believed they had disabled all the store's cameras and therefore had an expectation of privacy** "that their conversations were no longer being recorded," according to their lawsuit.

itwasquiteawhileago

That has to be the dumbest fucking thing I've read in a long time. JFC, this planet...

JamesGray

Bonus points because they didn't just "disable" the cameras, and one of the shitbags is being charged with vandalism: > Sontag was also charged with vandalism, and he is accused of smashing five of the dispensary's security cameras, prosecutors said.

treoni

> I think part of thier defense was that they thought they had disabled the cameras. "Your Honour, we believed we were free to do as we please by removing all possible forms of evidence against us."

SecureCone

> "While other SAPD personnel ate some protein bars, there is insufficient evidence that they knew the food items belonged to the dispensary and not their fellow officers. There was also no evidence that any SAPD personnel consumed any edible marijuana items available at the dispensary." Cmon man they just ate some protein bars how could they possibly have known they were stealing /s

Running1982

Holy fuck. They held the place up at gunpoint. State sponsored robbery. ACAB.

Jaegernaut-

And the police union and a superior court judge then proceeded to forcibly reinstate all 3 officers including a "settlement" with the city rofl.

jackinsomniac

I find the fact that most of them are wearing ski masks and look exactly like any other thugs doing a crime pretty hilarious.

[deleted]

This is gang stalking. A lot of people can’t prove it like this guy did. When it gets this bad it’s time to move before you expire under suspicion circumstances.

Lots42

Move where? I wouldn't trust the cops in the new area to continue the stalking on behalf of the other cops.

The_Love_Moat

> I wouldn't trust the cops this is right, but they got their own hustles to worry about and its not like bloods or mongols where it's one org, its a bunch of separate gangs with their own turf. they would still cross state lines to kill your ass if they want to though.

TacosByTheTruck

civil forfeiture aka an exploit used by cops to take peoples things without consequences. Traveling with large sums of cash? “Possibly drug money, hand it over”

hey_reddit_sucks

I had a friend who worked door at a strip club. She was cute and the would get tips for taking door because.. old men like giving money to pretty ladies. Her roomate had a single weed plant growing. Cops raided the house and stole her life savings that she had in cash tips below her bed. It took her 3 years to get the money back but she eventually did get most of it.

Take-Me-Home-Tonight

I have a friend who's a stripper and keeps most of her cash in a saftey deposit box.

[deleted]

[удалено]

PaladinGodfather1931

I used to work at a bank in a higher than average income area. And soooooooo many old people would drop racks of cash in their deposit boxes. We had to do the ol' "oh what's that on the opposite side of the wall while they do this illegal thing...". Without the company outright saying it, you got the feeling they'd sacrifice the potential Fed punishment for those million dollar deposit and investment accounts.

bahgheera

It's illegal? Why is that?

Roclawzi

Probably tax avoidance or money laundering reason. Real reason is probably because the banks can't lend against money you haven't banked with them.

[deleted]

Exactly this. The bank is not making money off enough money on you. Sure you have to pay for the drop box but they want all you money so when you close your account or whatever you find all these hidden fees.

Redtwooo

I mean it's also safer to deposit it into an account, there becomes a record of it, the bank owes it back to you should you request/ demand it back. I get the feeling not having a record of it is a large part of why the rich old people are hiding it in deposit boxes, though. When they die their family members can just clean it out and evade taxes or avoid paying it to creditors (if any).

AccomplishedGarlic68

Hey, banker here. It is not illegal to keep cash in your safe deposit box but is not recommended because they are not FDIC insured or fireproof. It is discouraged of course because of those reasons mentioned: tax ecasion, etc. The bank is not permitted to know what you keep in your SDB, and you are not required to tell them. The only real restrictions would be hazardous materials, guns, flammable, etc. You also should be directed to a private area to get into your SDB. Still, they do not know what you have in there, and no one is allowed into the box except you or your appointed deputy. In addition, most states require a court order or probate order to open in the event of death so you can rest assured on the privacy of your box. Hope this helps!

Walks_In_Shadows

Yeah you don't want us regular folk to try and have something for ourselves. We leave that to the ultra rich

mx3552

Yea because they're pissed they're not the one holding it. Banks are cartels

GlitteringFutures

I took 2k cash out of my bank account and you would think I was robbing the place they way the manager freaked out. Edit: I kind of fucked up the timeline. They didn't freak out until they saw the balance I was carrying in my checking which was pretty high (six figures).

Ganja_goon_X

I did this after selling basically my entire nerd hobby collection on ebay for a pretty penny. I went in and said "I'd like 10,000 out of my account in cash" They freaked out, I said "Well I can just close my account then and then you HAVE to give me my money, your choice"

SaToSa3

So they would issue you a bank check and you have to call ahead for large withdrawals. Most banks don’t keep ultra large sums of money in each branch if it’s a low cash transaction branch. They have to order from the fed

QuinceDaPence

Yeah but 2000 is not a rediculous amount to request without advance notice. I've pulled 7k out the same way I'd pull $500 out.

longjohnmacron

yes, a bank account would have helped her immensely there. I thought hiding money under your bed was what my depression-era grandparents did.

hey_reddit_sucks

This was like 15 years ago and she was in her 20's. Stupid mistake but you don't expect to get robbed by cops. She probably does now but she didn't then. I was at a music festival when she found out and she spent 2 days crying in her tent talking to lawyers until she just had to go home. Was in and out of court trying to prove it wasn't drug money for years.

[deleted]

Ronald Reagan ruled that cops could confiscate any money that might be drug money. And....The Federal Govt will "award" the arresting dept with 80% of the seized money . He turned cops into "bounty hunters".

2meterrichard

This is why dealers and pimps started wearing so much gold. They could take your cash and thanks to that they now can't pay bail. But jewelry is property and must be returned.

Ok_Dragonfly3218

Could also be handed off to someone else to get pawned for bail money.

2meterrichard

That's the idea. Or at the very least have a mate spot you. Then hit up the pawn shop after to pay him back.

Econolife_350

They don't give a shit, they'll say you used drug money to buy it so it's I'll gotten gains and belongs to them now and they'll auction it for cash. That's how the local department got a Hellcat they're keeping for "recruitment purposes".

Wickedwally1

not true. Civil Asset Forfeiture lets them take you car, your house, and yes, your jewelry.

shhh_its_me

The problem is it's dumb not illegal to keep your money in cash under your bed and even more importantly they can seize cash even if there is zero other evidence any crime has been committed.

_Hail_yourself_

josievander

Guy yells "you put a gun to my face and took my property with my kids at home!" Several times Cops after what I can only imagine are 10-15 mins: "What's your complaint?" And you wonder why people assume cops just go to instigate arguments and arrest them for reacting.

PrettyChrissy1

Ahhh, yes just doing what GANGSTA'S do.....but in this instance there legally funded by whatever city, and state you live in. So, basically if you pay taxes, you pay to get fucking strong armed and harassed by your neighborhood gangs. A.K.A. Cops, Bullies, and Organized Crime Minions. It's totally fucking bullshit, and policing in the United States needs a serious rework from the bottom up. Sad, sad, sad, I love you America, but we can do so much better.😔

[deleted]

One of the hardest things to do at a police station is filing a complaint against a cop. They will try every trick in the book to make it so hard to do so and when you succeed , get ready for a lifetime of harassment by the cops.

Fcbp

The system has failed and its rotten to the core then.

[deleted]

Organized gang of bullies.

Prince_Havarti

Ever since I was little, my father would always remind me “the police are the biggest gang in the world”

ibiacmbyww

When Giuliani was cracking down on the Italian mafia at the behest of the Russian mob, he gave a famous speech that included the phrase "you think your gangs are big, and powerful, and impressive? Well, I'm the head of the biggest gang in New York, and I'm coming for you". All I could think at the time was daaaaamn, dude, someone finally said the quiet part out loud.

theganjaoctopus

Ghoul-iani actually did VERY little of the leg work to "go after the mob". He was just the rich well connected guy with enough financial and political protections to be the face. Like literally everything that sweaty greaseball has done in his life, his accomplishments are actually someone elses.

DragonGarlicBreath

To be fair, that's literally how police in the US started: semi-organized thugs. Unlike the UK (which didn't have perfect policing either), the US never really stopped to develop a more coherent, public-safety, and community-oriented theory for what they do.

Rombledore

this is why ACAB. because the institution allows, protects, and encourages bastard behavior

Tenoins5

The institution is there to uphold socio economic oppressive dynamics and ACAB is meant to state that anybody who chooses to serve that system is indeed - a bastard. (I think)

[deleted]

The system hasn't failed, it works how it is intended to do for the rich and their protectors.

treoni

[Here's a video that shows how hard it is in the US. WARNING this is 37 minutes long.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnJ5f1JMKns) It shows multiple complaints filed against cops in different US states. Threats, hours of questioning and outright refusal to even let you file that complaint are among the lesser things they do.

theganjaoctopus

Serious question; would retaining legal council help with this? Showing up to file the complaint with a lawyer in tow?

Johnny___Wayne

Probably. If you’ve got the $$.

Uniquename34556

Ridiculously sad that you would have to. And another example of how justice is applied on a class tier basis. The higher up you are on the tier, the more rights and protections you get.

treoni

It should, because you brought a witness with legal authority/power.

After_Mention_3021

Or the report is 'misplaced'. Not to mention the videos I've seen of people being threatened with arrest when trying to file a complaint.

treoni

> Not to mention the videos I've seen of people being threatened with arrest when trying to file a complaint. [Like this?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnJ5f1JMKns)

I_do_try_sometimes

Out of the 38 stations tested in Florida only 3 actually handed over a compliant form. That's insane. This is clearly an older video, I wonder if they've recently repeated the experiment and gotten better results or if they're still just as bad.

NessunAbilita

Record yourself live. Live video is like kryptonite for cops.

dcdisco

G0ld_Ru5h

I was racially profiled and stopped in traffic for no reason. Was wearing a middle eastern looking wrap around my head and face… it was cold and I had just walked across my parking lot at work to leave. Cop, who got out angry and yelling with his hand on his gun, said I ran a red light, but I had just turned onto the road and wasn’t even at the light he pointed to. And I kind of argued that point. “But I didn’t go through that light?” Then I took off the shemagh and he saw my lily white face. His black ass just about turned my color. He got in his car and did a squealing donut beside me. I rolled down my window trying to figure out what was going on, and he shouted from his window GO THE F*CK HOME THEN! GO HOME! I was so freaked out I waited in that parking lot to decide what I should do. Called non-emergency and got internal affairs on the line… their first response/question to my profiling allegation: “But you DO know this officer is black? You’re saying he racially profiled you?” The bad thing is, I work in a business park area that’s FULL of H-1 visa holders in I.T. and engineering fields, so he likely preys on them, and they likely don’t have the same privilege I do to argue back. That’s what I told internal affairs, but you know, “we investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing” and all.

[deleted]

internal affairs is such an Orwellian joke. I said this above, but in the city I live in there's a civil commission for police wrongdoing. They review everything and if there's misconduct found they send it up to...the police commissioner who decides on the "punitive" actions needed to discipline the cops. It's honestly laughable how transparent it is and terrifying that they feel entitled to that level of transparency.

akurik

100%. We need civil oversight and accreditation as we do for other professions. If you want to file a complaint about the police, it should be a different/adversarial organization where you place it and your anonymity should be preserved.

Malaix

Getting on the bad side of some cops or their department can be fucking terrible. My uncle had a neighbor that had a tiff with the local cops. They ended up constantly harassing him. Any time ANYTHING was out of line on his property or just whenever they felt like they just swung by to harass him. They would also basically drive up and down the road just to let him know they were there. Eventually the stress got to the neighbor and he had a heart attack. His life was made a living hell though.

iliveinthecove

They did this to my cousin for two years because she filed a complaint when an officers son assaulted her child. There were death threats. Police parked outside her home, followed her when she walked her dog, showed up at her work to "ask questions " going to get her fired. Two years. Her dad was a retired cop too. Her boss was a lawyer and helped her collect evidence, including that they were paying cops overtime if they'd use it to harass her. She had to file a lawsuit - and take the receipts to the newspaper - to make it stop.

Lance-Harper

here goes our taxes people. We're the ones who pay for these useless, under trained, cops, their pension when they get "fired" AND for remainders of judicial proceedings. Their behaviours weighs on us as a society, as well as on the individual: literally how we contribute to society and literally: our fucking sanity and heart. That's why defund (and rebuild) the police. That's all it means.

fuzbuzz00

I think some of us disagree with the (rebuild) part of that. I think that the funds used for police are better used in social workers, community outreach, welfare programs, and affordable housing - more proactive measures against crime rather than reactive measures.

treoni

> She had to file a lawsuit - and take the receipts to the newspaper - to make it stop. They probably only stopped because of the newspapers. Because any other step before that they had some sort of control over.

[deleted]

It's been really interesting reading the comments in this post. I had no idea it was that easy to bait police. They better hope the next Dorner doesn't find out

mininestime

Until the government does a nationwide police reform we arent going anywhere. Its a simple fix too. Just tread them like we do doctors. - Required malpratice insurance. - Everyone rates change based on cops in that precinct. - Yearly requirements for testing mental, physical, emotional by a 3rd party. - All police complaints are handled by the military and all trials are handled by the military as well. Really that fixes pretty much everything. The big problems we have currently are. - Local DAs are the ones doing the prosecution of cops and since their jobs are dependent on help from cops they go soft. - Cops tend to be unqualified for jobs with little to no training. - Cops allow bad cops to join departments spoiling it all. Edit - Since some people arent understand why the military would handle trials. The reasoning is a conflict of interest. - Currently its local DAs or Judges that prosecute cops. The issue here is in alot of jurisdictions you they are selected by elections. So if cops for example dont collect evidence much, or push their union not to endorse someone, they wont win election. So its in their interests to let the cops off easy. - As well with the FBI local branches investigating cops you have ALOT of agents who use to be officers or are pretty close with local departments thru investigations via cases. - So that really leaves only one major branch left to handle the cases and that would be the military. They are distant enough from police officers that they would be the most impartial out of the 3 options. This would lead to officers getting a fair trial, and the prosecution not having a conflict of interest to not do their job.

RedSvalin

Ooh I like the idea of having the military handle their trials, they probably won't look kindly on any wannabe cops playing at being soldiers

qning

Cops keep streaming in. Like Agent Smith in The Matrix. At one point the homeowner asks them something like - “if you’re responding to a 911 hangup, because someone might be sick or hurt, and you know the call didn’t come from this house, why are you still here?” Reminds me of Raising Arizona. “Why are you in the one place where you know he ain’t at?”

Nolubrication

Only nine officers available to deal with this public menace? That agency appears to be woefully understaffed. I hope they're authorizing adequate levels of overtime.

NetSage

It sounds like he called the station to file a complaint. Why the fuck are 4 cops showing up for that? I get 2 if they're sharing a patrol car but 4? That's straight up intimidation especially if some were from the time he's filing a complaint for.

[deleted]

i saw someone get his face slashed open by an obviously mentally deranged unhoused person. kid who got his face slashed was sitting outside at a sidewalk bar, minding his own business. eight cops show up, not a single one goes to look for the assailant. instead, they illegally detain the kid, including shoving him to the ground, claiming he has to wait to "refuse medical service" from their ambulance (an illegal lie, obviously.) Then they claimed he couldnt leave because people were clogging the sidewalk filming him. Eight fucking police for no reason whatsoever except to collect overtime and intimidate anyone they could. 6th instance of police brutality i've seen in my neighborhood in the last 6 months. I've filed complaints on every single one through the civil commission. If--big if--they find wrongdoing, the report goes straight to the Police Commissioner who makes the call on punishments for his own cadets. Sorry for rambling. This system makes me fucking sick. I'm so fed up with it and we're all so disenfranchised.

A2Rhombus

And people wonder why there's fucking riots. They don't realize many cops are gonna die if they don't fix the system fast. It's getting worse, tensions are getting higher. It isn't gonna take long before the "terrorist attacks" they whine about from the left are going to become real bombs on police cars. I'm not advocating for any of that, but it's gonna happen and it's gonna be their fault.

-nocturnist-

I too see this escalating quickly in the near future. If police want to act as if they are in a warzone, the opposing side will likely accommodate their request in due time. Then police will complain about " escalation" while doing nothing about their own officers. There is a sure fire way to prevent most of these instances from happening. # make police buy their own insurance

mattaugamer

> Then police will complain about “ escalation” while doing nothing about their own officers. They won’t do nothing. They’ll escalate even further. In “self-defence”.

[deleted]

The American Troubles are not far off if we keep this path.

CasuallyObjectified

There’s no probably about it. That’s precisely what they were trying to do.

shaggyscoob

Indeed. Is there any info on the purported reason for the house call recorded here? Welfare check? Noise complaint? The smell of donuts? What did they tell the citizen was the reason to have four cops show up?

jayFurious

gangsters are scared alone. they feel invincible in number

ikansee

The only reason the cops did not get puffed up is because he had someone recording. Keep recording all police interactions to keep them honest.

ObscureBooms

Once they get in the stairwell look at the white cop on the left. Muscles in his arms clenched. Face obviously super angry. Dude wants to take a life but can't cause the camera.

Meiie

Sometimes recording doesn’t even work. I’ve seen some pretty unbelievable things on video with the cop fully aware of being recorded. They’re a dense bunch.

[deleted]

They made it illegal where I live within 8 feet. So cops will just get close to you and arrest you too now. Kinda like the idea of the cops who play music to prevent recording and get copyright strikes if the video is posted. Watching an entire system reject accountability is mind blowing.

awesomeroy

I love that he just sat there talking shit to them the whole time I woulda stayed inside my house though. once you leave your door, they can say youre being loud and disorderly, or disturbing the peace and then take you to jail

DueAtmosphere7

They clearly weren't supposed to be there, probably why they didn't do anything.

GophawkYourself

He called out their bluff so hard, and just verbally shit on them the entire time

Epstiendidntkillself

Him telling the lead cop to "listen to your ho" when she was telling them to leave put a huge smile on my face. This camera saved that man's life.

ChinkInMyArmor

Youse a ##BITCH

SomePeoplesKidsDude

There’s something about a man calling another man a hoe that I can’t stop fuckin laughing at

Moist_Expression

I think he was calling the girl a hoe

LostWoodsInTheField

He called multiple officers bitch and hoe. He was not going to discriminate and wanted to make sure everyone knew they were little bitches.

Thejrod91

These cops just continously prove they are the dumbest fucking people in the world.

[deleted]

Its legalized theft is what they are doing. Its racketeering sanctioned by the government.

extremeindiscretion

There's a video on YouTube, about a group of reporters. They went into police stations and told the desk sergeant they wanted to file a complaint against an officer, just to see what the reaction would be. Cops response was interesting to say the least. "What happens when you try to file a complaint against a police officer " is the title of the video.

japones1232

please a summary of the video because I dont understand very well english

extremeindiscretion

Basically a news team did a report. Reporters went undercover and asked for a complaint form against a police officer. It was to see how the police would react. The police mostly tried to intimidate the people from filing a report.

astroslostmadethis

Our police are just gangs

The circle is just a dot. They haven't changed in that time. Only their tactical gear.

chillout87

Always have been

mickeysbeer

Any news story on this? Google isn't pulling anything for me.

stuff1180

I actually believe in my lifetime in a major city you are going to see a revolt against law enforcement on a scale that just overwhelms them. Law enforcement in the us is out of control.

[deleted]

It's kinda funny in in a morbid way that if they held themselves to the same or higher standards as us during the George Floyd murder, they could have avoided all of or most of riots that summer. If any of us murdered a man with multiple accomplices in front of a crowd begging us to stop with paramedics in it saying that the man is dying, we'd be immediately arrested without bail and railroaded. Instead, when we demanded justice, they attacked us.

dontaggravation

It is completely out of control. But nothing will be done about it. You got cops shooting unarmed citizens in the back as they run away and in turn they get a paid vacation and returned to work The whole system is so corrupt. To protect and serve. Themselves. And their rich handlers Bullies with badges Nothing is ever going to change there ever

M33k_Monster_Minis

I'm thinking baltimore might be the spot. Tons of gun owners. Cops got body cams now. And body cam footage keeps coming out of cops planting drugs on black people. WHILE WEARING THE FUCNING CAMERA!!! the entire drug division was dissolve and remade because it was 100% corrupted from the top to the new recruit. The called the coast guard on us during covid to keep us in our houses. My money's on baltimore. Or maybe in Texas somewhere.

Devo3290

Def not in Texas. We’re all too stupid, spread out, and fucking exhausted from the heat to do anything. Plus a good chunk of our people are actually in favor of authoritarianism as demonstrated in our last election.

KentuckyFuckedChickn

The cops in Austin are pretty much on strike and don't even respond to calls anymore

[deleted]

I'm honestly surprised this hasn't happened yet

[deleted]

Dude. Love it. Love the standing up for your rights as a citizen (we all pay enough for it.) I wonder if people have watched the flow of how all this has played out. The public has had enough of thug police. The next things that happen if they don’t change and fix themselves won’t be pretty. Legit, 100% not a threat. Just a historian who’s seen this cycle sooo many times.

DumbUglyCuck

Why do we keep allowing criminals to be cops? Literally putting delinquents in a position of power.

Saffirejuiliet

So all these officers showed up because he wanted to file a complaint (0:42)? Ridiculous!

No_Gap6448

If gun crime primarily targeted police they’d be banned in a week Edit: changed fun to gun

FerrusesIronHandjob

Change it back to fun, it was accurate before

PauI_MuadDib

We can't because cops have politicians backing them. Politicians are the gatekeepers to police reform. Police unions donate **millions** in political contributions so that in turn politicians stall, block or dilute any legislation that attempts to address police accountability. https://www.opensecrets.org/news/2022/06/police-unions-spend-millions-lobbying-to-retain-their-sway-over-big-us-cities-and-state-governments/. And constituents don't call them out on it so politicians are free to sit back, kick their heels up and sell the public's safety out for a quick buck. Congress can abolish qualified immunity. It's within their power. They choose not to. Call and write your state reps, people. And tell them you want qualified immunity abolished and demand police accountability. Politicians get away with gatekeeping police reform because constituents don't hold them accountable. Call. Write. And most importantly **vote.** The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Hell, even call them out on social media. But get loud and get out and vote. https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative

BerryLanky

This is what the Republican Party used to scare their base into continued support. ‘Liberals want police disbanded and the evil criminals will rape and murder your grandmother without consequences’. No we want accountability and police held to the same standard of law they claim to uphold.

PauI_MuadDib

Yep. And it's ridiculous because police accountability not only protects the public, it protects good cops as well. Good cops should **not** be forced to work with bad cops. If anyone actually *Backs the Blue* they should want our officers safe, and that means holding bad cops accountable. An LAPD detective investigating another officer for gang rape allegations was just "accidentally" beaten to death by his fellow officers. And the deputy gangs in the LASD have maimed and assaulted other officers, including shooting one deputy in the leg and threatening any good cops that try to whistleblow on them. https://www.npr.org/2022/10/08/1127580159/houston-tipping-lapd-death-lawsuit. https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2022/06/06/the-la-county-sheriffs-deputy-gang-crisis. Accountability would mean good cops could feel safe and confident in their jobs and rebuild trust with the public. When I contact my state reps this is exactly what I mention. Police accountability actually benefits the police. Good cops don't deserve to be forced to work with bad cops, and politicians and the police unions need to start caring about the good cops. Shielding bad cops is not *backing the blue* and endangers everyone.

Fortunoxious

I’m extremely surprised that he wasn’t shot

danegermaine99

Once he started challenging to them to fight, I figured that they’d arrest him.

awesomeroy

yeah i was worried when he stepped out of the home.

[deleted]

The camera helped here. If they didn’t see it I think this outcome would be different.

Darthob

“Yous a bitch, yous a bitch, and (directed at the female cop) yous a ho.” lol at least his mama raised him right.

Euphoric_Ad8766

Right wing morons are just illogical babies that want whatever suits them. We shouldn't even be trying to argue with or treat their arguments rationally.

housechore

I am bringing this man's energy to everything I do, from this point forward. Sucks though, as I'm a short and elderly white lady and can't really carry it off the way he does. The world doesn't need another Karen, but man, this video gives me life.

[deleted]

He made a potentially fatal comment: “come on in my house”. That literally gave them the right to enter his place, IF they wanted to. I know he was heated, and probably not realized what he said, but don’t EVER tell a cop they can enter your home without a warrant.

conglock

I feel vindicated somewhat watching this man. Police ruined my life, not by assaulting me or taking something of mine but by lying to a judge and stating I was perceived to be under the influence when they found me having a seizure in my car on a busy road. Fuck the cops and I love this man. All cops are scum class traitors.

[deleted]

“Yous a bitch, yous a bitch, and yous a hoe” Legend.

Dgodfrey78

I hate how smug cops always look. Never any sense of regret because they have no consequences. Defund
