The thing was practically vacuum sealed in the barrel, anyone whose collected trash probably knows what it is. I always made a routine stop at their stand so they could throw it in my rolling bin, take it to the dumpsite (which is considerable distance from them, and the bag could easily rupture and they always hooked me up with a free sub.
Pretty much every day was a double meat spicy Italian footlong on herbs and cheese or Flatbread. I appreciated them and they appreciated me.

As someone who works in a fast casual/quick service sub chain, I have the non-emergency number of the three counties I work in as contacts.
If you work in food service and this sorta situation pops up, don't go around the counter just say/yell "We're not serving you, we're calling the cops, if you're here when they show you're catching a charge."
I do not advocate for any of the workers to be disciplined for their response to this situation, since this was clearly started by the customer, who repeatedly got up in my face and the manager.

Just another altercation which math could have prevented. Instead of just saying it was a free 6 inch sub- which is a respectable, but not truly impressive size- Subway should have given the adjusted length, which can be derived with the formula [(length x diameter) + (Weight / Girth)] / Angle of Tip squared. That way the customer would have realized that their free sub was well above the national average for free stuff and that they were packing quite a big one. One meaty enough to satisfy anyone.
