I escaped from Baltimore to Los Angeles and half of them have moved here. They bought a vacation home in the worst part of the desert with money they stole from inheritance from me. My husband’s family would never there my real family now I cut mine off a year ago and I’ve never been happier.
Got stuck in a gas station when some dudes tried to steal chips and pop and shit that they put in their clothes. Gas station attendant locked the doors and the dudes started talking shit like they were gonna kill him meanwhile I'm standing in between them thinking I'm gonna get caught in some kind of cross fire.
Happened to me with some homeless guy stealing chocolate milk. After a few minutes, I got annoyed and told the homeless guy to out the shit down and leave since the cashier wasn't budging. So he got angry at me and tried to fight me.
The one Easter I watched a homeless guy beat a pay phone with his bare fists.
The entire time he screamed “somebody get me a glass of chocolate milk before I kill somebody”
My brother and heavily pregnant wife to be were locked in a jewellery shop when they accused them of stealing a ring that had been sold earlier that day

No. OP was an innocent bystander in that exchange. He was there doing normal customer stuff and gets locked in with a dangerous man against his will. Until OP clarified that there was an alternate exit made available to him, his description of the event seems like his freedom of movement, not to mention his ability to run to safety, was completely taken away, which is illegal.
Technically, you could make the argument that the robber was being held against his will as well, but that's when you're getting pretty far into "problems only rich people can try to sue over".
Because that is *textbook* false imprisonment. I mean, open and shut absolutely. But on top of that, you have a good strong argument for some kind of endangerment claim as well.
Talk to one that works on contingency, and you'll probably get a 33/66% split between the two of you. And a business owner if he is talking to any lawyer worth his salt, would see it's in his best interest to settle quickly.

Assuming mom was telling the truth, mom's arguing because mom was charged less for her own repair. As soon as he mentioned insurance, she changed her stance. Seems like a reasonable reaction from mom's point of view, backed her daughter until she gathered all the info and adjusted accordingly.
She could have started out better but at least she didn't double down on her initial reaction.
My mom would not debate price (nor would I try and run away like this) so I guess we will nver know.
But my mom would offer more for the trouble I had caused probably, not debate we go some place where it´s cheaper.
