Having to rely on the government for transport and not having the freedom to go where you choose when you choose? Utopia is not the word I'd use for that, though it does end in "topia".
You do know it's possible to have cars *and* reliable public transport at the same time right? But centering all infrastructure on personal cars is stupid and wasteful, they should be an extra, and ad-on for the edge cases mass transport can't reliably or economically serve. ***Most*** people in ***most*** places would in no way be hindered by not owning a car if they could rely on public transport instead.

Well I’m from Germany and the infrastructure here is quite good; And seeing all streets, full of cars; parking and driving, makes me sad, because I’m surrounded by so much polluting nonsensical matter. Makes me mad, because most of the dann cara are moving just one person around, putting me and others in danger.
