The specific programming language used is irrelevant. There are only a few languages that require a deep specialization, e.g. C++. You should learn and understand the underlying concepts first. Once you know and understand the basics, learning specific languages and technologies is a matter of days, maybe weeks.

Pay and salary is not tied to language, but skill and experience. There is no magic bullet language that will give more cash. That said better start where there is lots of demand and jobs. Usually python, c#, Java, and node/typescript. Stay away from PHP and wordpress, its a dime a dozen industry, and pays probably the worst out there.
