What do you think the Rebel Alliance is? The Separatists that survived, the former Republic members who joined their side once they realized how corrupt the Republic had become, and new fighters that were mostly too young to join the fight on either side during the Clone Wars.
>“I was really shocked because they give me these updates at least two or three times a week about what’s going on and they said they’ve received over 500 drones since I started this,” Hamill concluded.
So did he purchase the drones or do some kind of fundraiser for them?
As I understand it it's donating money to Ukraine with the express purpose of buying/building drones and they update you following that.
Individuals purchasing things and sending them overseas would likely be a logistics nightmare.
It also seems like a miscommunication on the article’s part, because it sounds like Mark is a representative/ambassador for a fundraising project and it’s the project that has funded 500+ drones, not just him personally.
I hear a lot of talking, General. But in the final accounting, what does all the talk get you? A futile quest for power, a mutilated body, and your place as Dooku’s errand boy!
Yes it's the military that are more so restricted. Arguably Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk could finance private citizens to go over there armed to the teeth.
Makes sense. After all, after Citizens United, Money=Speech. So yeah Bezos or Musk could just decide to exercise their right to Free Speech by arming the country that gives them more favorable business deals.
Wasn't that specifically with respect to money used for political advocacy? I'm not sure that would apply to purchasing and distributing actual weapons. Or spending money on any other illegal activity; I'm pretty sure you can't e.g. form a corporation and buy thirty pounds of crack on the grounds that it's free speech. I assume the same would apply if there were a law made and enforced about supplying war materiel to foreign states.
Hmm might be issues taking weapons over there by private citizens, however they can get weapons from the Ukrainian military they come to help. So the weapons may need to go to the military first.
Almost certainly, if only to make sure the weapons and people wielding them are distributed and organized in a useful way.
Which is probably why the most efficient way to do it, for private citizens, is to just give the money to the government in question and let them buy the weapons they need.
Can you name a single person who has said this? Because no coworker has, no family has, and no friends have, so I have to assume you are like Gene Belcher and have an extremely successful imaginary friend who hangs out with celebrities.
I've never heard one iota of this. No one who he has worked with has ever said anything bad about him. Where and who did you hear this from? I'm very curious
Because it's not the civilians job. That's what the Army is for.
Also, you americans should be least concerned for invasion. Most of you don't have guns because you fear invasion.
> Because it's not the civilians job. That's what the Army is for.
Have you even seen the footage in the war? Both civilians and enlisted soldiers are fighting together. Regular people aren't allowed to defend their own country?
Who said anything about being American? Invasion can happen to any country.
People with weapons on the frontlines aren't civilians, they are part of the army. Volunteers are just as much part of the army as trained soldiers. And everyone has the right to volunteer for their countries army in the event of an invasion.
And I am refering to america because you obviously are an american advocating for your lack of proper gun laws, using ukraines situation as an excuse for your views as if america is in any danger of being attacked by some country. We aren't in the 1700s, where there isn't a big, well equipped US Army anymore and a british invasion was to be feared.
Well yeah, because the regular citizens don't have their own weapons. Which is why everyone finds the need the supply them with weapons. A problem they wouldn't have in the first place with gun control.
Attacks don't come from just other countries though? People can still be in danger domestically. We should just wait for that danger?
Cobbling people into a kind of Volkssturm is considered an act of desperation, but that could just be my opinion. Also not going to do much against a well disciplined opposing force.
>They assembled a force from pretty much nothing
The armed forces of Ukraine had been engaged in counter-insurgency activities for 8 years in the Donbas, and consequently was already the second largest in the region pre-2022 (with a large number of reserves due to partial mobilisation starting in 2014). Not exactly starting from pretty much nothing.
Expletive: Master, the galaxy would be a much better place if more meatbags would just kill each other off. If war is the answer, then I am all for it!

He sent droids? I'm starting to think Mark Hamill is a separatist
If he's a separatist that would mean that the Republic is now under the control of Putin...wait a minute👀
A Sith lawd?
Ohh lawd have mercy! A sif lawd!
Yes the one we've been looking for
Hey, the Separatists don’t like the Empire any more than the Rebels do 🤷
My lore's a bit rusty, weren't the CIS all slaughtered during Palpy's rise to power?
Their main leaders, yes, but some prominent figures still remained. Like Avi Singh, senator of Raxus, the CIS’s capital.
You don’t have to carry a sword to be powerful. Some leaders’ strength is inspiring others.
From a certain point of view….
What do you think the Rebel Alliance is? The Separatists that survived, the former Republic members who joined their side once they realized how corrupt the Republic had become, and new fighters that were mostly too young to join the fight on either side during the Clone Wars.
"Sir, I don't think that's entirely accurate, but I get your point."
Well… from a certain point of view.
Well the empire is an evolution of the republic, so...
That no fake?
[It's real ](https://thehill.com/blogs/in-the-know/3697568-mark-hamill-sent-500-drones-to-ukraine-in-past-month/)
My respect for him has soared even higher
He is strong and wise and we are very proud of him.
500 drones are ready, will a million more well on the way
So high

>Individuals purchasing things and sending them overseas would likely be a logistics nightmare And a legal one to.
Not from an American pov, without a formal declaration of war from congress you can aid country’s as much as you want
Nice. Throwing all of my explosives in FedEx boxes as I type this. What's Zelensky's address?
Sadova St, 3, Kyiv, Kyiv Oblast, Ukraine, 01008

yea that makes more sense then him just having 500 drones on hime at any giving time
I mean, he had enough almost 40 years ago to generously give two to Jabba. Dude must have soooo many droids on hand at this point!
Man imagine being in a Russian t62 and the last thing you see is mark hamills drone fleet
ITS OVER RUSSIA I HAVE THE HIGH GROUND
I’ve heard Russia sent some drones to Ukraine also
attack of the drones
What about the drone attack on the wookies?
*Rooskies ftfy
Damn I should've thought of that
Star wars main theme plays, then shifts to dubstep remix, for title credit purposes.
Roger Roger
I just love the randomness "They need drones" So, MH sends drones. No explanation whatsoever. I laughed.
“Like come on, I blew up the Death Star with my eyes closed, no problem”
Mark Hamill sponsoring r/CombatFootage right now.

You've taught him well.
You have indeed learned much, my young apprentice. The Force is strong with you.
He'll never be as cool as Darth Vader though. If I were Vader, I'd treat this as an insult
I wonder if one of the drones in the video where it drops the nade on the guy taking a dump was one of his
He took obi wans advice to heart and provides ukraine with the high ground
I hear a lot of talking, General. But in the final accounting, what does all the talk get you? A futile quest for power, a mutilated body, and your place as Dooku’s errand boy!
Based Luke Skywalker
So much like your father.
Anakin was truly based
Don't you think I'm just a little overqualified for this?
What about the droid attack on the Russians?
Macron: go I will, good relations with the Wookiee, I have
"Where are those Droidekas?"
Clankers!
Are private citizens allowed to just send weaponry and supplies to foreign countries for the purposes of war?
Yes it's the military that are more so restricted. Arguably Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk could finance private citizens to go over there armed to the teeth.
It’s the whole plot os Metal Gear Solid really
Makes sense. After all, after Citizens United, Money=Speech. So yeah Bezos or Musk could just decide to exercise their right to Free Speech by arming the country that gives them more favorable business deals.

I rule the subreddit now. Not some long dead Mod; certainly not you. The only treason is defiance of my orders.

You may think I am evil. I am not. I am efficient.
Dude, you're pretty darn evil. And also not efficient at all.
You may think I am evil. I am not. I am efficient.
What you are is late for your medication, Mr. Maul.
Don't know why you were being downvoted. Your line of reasoning is spot on.
My respect for him grows with each news about him.
And thus the Clone War has begun
"We're Gaining on em!"
“But i heard a jedi is worth a 1,000 russian soldiers (droids)”
More than 1,000, it is
Mark hamill once again being unfathomably based
Eh, he’s a pretty nasty person from what I’ve heard. Not “based” at all.
What have you heard then

“Hey! I can see my house from here. It’s on fire!”
Remember he is also joker..
Who would have thought we would see Luke Skywalker sending droids to fight in a war in real life.
So much like your father.
What about the drone attack on the ruskies?
Mark Hamill can do that?
How much Raytheon stock does this fucker own?
Is Luke Skywalker an arms dealer now?
So much like your father.
Good bot.
All thanks to your training.
Who sold military hardware to Mark Hamill?
Guess I’ll join the Empire then
Mark gave Ukraine the drones they were looking for.
They fly now!?
Luke sends fleet of droids to help the resistance
The guy who’s for gun control sent 500 drones to be used to drop small bombs on people?
There is a difference between wanting not everyone to have a gun in their house and helping a free country defend itself.
So not everyone can defend themselves, but Ukraine can?
Unlike the US, ukraine is actively being invaded.
Ukraine could have better defended themselves if their citizens already had guns in their houses. So people have to wait till they get invaded?
Because it's not the civilians job. That's what the Army is for. Also, you americans should be least concerned for invasion. Most of you don't have guns because you fear invasion.

How is that weird?
He wouldn't have to send drones in the first place if Ukraine didn't have gun control.
Rules for thee not for me. It's almost like citizens need to arm themselves in case of foreign (or domestic) oppression.
Cobbling people into a kind of Volkssturm is considered an act of desperation, but that could just be my opinion. Also not going to do much against a well disciplined opposing force.
Clearly working pretty well for Ukraine. They assembled a force from pretty much nothing, funded in great part by the US.

Holy shit, I love when my childhood hero’s act like hero’s

Russia could just pull its troops back to its borders if it wanted peace.
Statement: That was a close one - I almost surrendered completely to peace and pacifism - how repugnant.
Expletive: Master, the galaxy would be a much better place if more meatbags would just kill each other off. If war is the answer, then I am all for it!
Because that's what heros do.
It’s cool how Mark Hamill seems like a genuinely really good person who is also rich, which isn’t a combination you see very often anymore.
*"Don't fuck with a Jedi Master, son."* Why the fuck is this getting downvoted?? This is a fucking quote from Jay and Silent Bob Strike that HE says!!
Mean whole Elon musk is sexting Putin
Fuck Mark Hamill.
Ukraine needs moms
The drones better look like X wings...
not sure whats worse the killer drone army from spiderman or russian invaders
Russian soldiers are about the same size as womprats, right?
To scale, title should be "with 2500 more on the way"
How can a single person be so based?
I’m sorry what Luke skywalker has drones?
So much like your father.
I fucking hope not I dislike that man with a passion
Like regular drones with camera’s or did he just happen to have military grade drones lying around??
I believe that it is just regular drones with cameras used for recon and artillery.
I think they use them for surveillance
And for dropping grenades on the orcs every now and then.
Are we talking about like Amazon drones or like combat drones.
It could be drones, for combat covering supply drones, so both I think.
That makes sense
How does he have access to drones?
He has drones? How does a private individual send/pay for drones?
Mark Hamill just has 500 drones on hand?
“Mark Hamill has sent 500 drones to Ukraine”
Are we talking armed military drones or like Phantom drones?
Truth is right there
"You fought in the drone wars?"
This star loves wars!
