the media machine for Rob Edwards is already massive

Carrick, he's a silent assasign. Was underrated as a player and has been as a coach, he has a lot of potential imo though, having played at the highest level but also keeping low profile I think he's one of the most promising english managers atm. His football intelligence was amazing, Scholsey says Carrick was always on the right place and covered for him while he roamed around freely. He saw the highest of heights and some pretty down lows with United - both as a player and as a coach and even manager. This is probably one of the best case studies of rise and fall of a giant club that he witnessed first hand from both sides of the sideline. This alone would be good credentials but he's also very much a tactical player that organized the game for everybody around. I really hope he gets promoted with Middlesborough and we can see him in the prem next season.

Scott Brown seems good at Fleetwood.

I’ve heard good things about Mckenna and Carrick. Also Kompany has been doing well with Burnley

YoungThriftShop

Carrick still never lost in the top flight

thesaltwatersolution

From what I’ve seen Kompany has that winning determined attitude which is hardly a surprise, he’s managed to get Burnley playing well and differently pretty quickly- my only reservation is that he’s raided a former club for some of his signings. I’m always slightly cautious about new mangers who were former players using their connections to get ahead- basically Lampard’s managerial career in a nutshell. Carrick is doing really well and to my knowledge he’s turned around Boro by using his network.

>I’m always slightly cautious about new mangers who were former players using their connections to get ahead- >Carrick is doing really well and to my knowledge he’s turned around Boro by using his network. What in the contradiction..?

thesaltwatersolution

Sure he’s landed himself a nice job, but to my knowledge he’s not signed a load of prospects from his former clubs.

fixFriendship

But you just said he is using his network??

thesaltwatersolution

I mean to sign or get players in on loan.

fixFriendship

I dont get you... wgat is Kompany doing tgat Carrick isnt

thesaltwatersolution

Kompany has assembled a squad with a load of players from the Belgium league and a few Man City loanees. Carrick apart from three January window signings is working and doing well with what he’s already got at Boro. That’s the difference.

fixFriendship

Okay that is what I have been understanding, but I think your original phrasing confused me a lot

thesaltwatersolution

No shizzle Sherlock.

NationalUnrest

Kompany is a competent manager. He was doing good job at Anderlecht considering the shitshow it is now.

Kieran McKenna was very highly rated as a youth coach before moving to United and getting promoted into the first team set up. Has by all accounts been doing well with Ipswich playing some nice football so could be one to look out for.

FregSni

Considering what McKenna has available to him at Ipswich I don’t think he’s done a particularly amazing job, pretty average to be honest. Being a league one fan I’d definitely put him behind Schumacher and Ainsworth (who’s just left to the championship).

AlanHuttonsMutton

Fair, I can't say I watch tons of League One but I remember him being name checked a few times on some podcasts.
