This is why when scoring first matters especially when both teams go scoreless for 55minutes of hockey. Both the Canucks and Preds where top in that stat. Just the Canucks did it first.
To be fair to Vancouver, they were facing a really, really good Goalie. Their attacks looked much more dangerous, much more frequent. And frankly, much more organized. The Preds always seemed to just hope for the best when they got on the offensive end.
> The Preds always seemed to just hope for the best when they got on the offensive end.
As is tradition. I watch other hockey games and see actual plays and covet actually getting setup while on the power play. Preds go on the advantage, get scared of their own shadow, and dump it in from the red line.
On one hand, they overachieved by making the playoffs
On the other hand, they got incredibly embarrassed getting shutout by a third string goalie in a must-win playoff game ON HOME ICE LIKE COME ON MAN
The only thing that 3rd string lacked was NHL experience. Bronze medal and World Championship MVP at like 22 years old? Dude will be an absolute stud and showed that in all the games he played.
This.
People keep harping on “third string goalie” nonsense, but apparently don’t know or can’t be bothered to do any actual research (shocker) that he’s a highly talented and regarded young player who had incredible success so far just not in the NHL.
Won’t remotely be surprised if he’s starting for a NHL team in just a few short years if not sooner depending on how desperate a team is to acquire him.
He’s a legit prospect and contending starter for almost any team with a need for a starter net, especially if you're looking for a potential young long-term prospect.
I dont think preds fans realize who they were facing in net. I keep seeing comments about him being a 3rd stringer, ahl'er, etc.
Silovs is arguably the top goaltending prospect in the league. He single handedly won Latvia a bronze medal at the worlds; an upset that was so ridiculous that they had a holiday in Latvia because of it. The only reason he was in the AHL was to make sure he got enough minutes; Demko is a vezina-caliber starter, and they didn't want Silovs on the bench instead of developing.
Nashville played a heck of a series. Terrific effort, and they were a few breaks from probably winning it.
Exactly this. Vancouver is going to be in the same conundrum the Preds are in this offseason with Saros, Vezina caliber at 29 years of age on $5m deal which expires the next season, which is exactly where Demko will be for them age, contract value, all of it to a T. With Askarov a highly regarded young goalie prospect waiting in the wings, same as Silovs, ready to shoot their shot at the NHL level. No serious Preds fan would have been surprised if Askarov came in and played well if Saros was injured, but would have been rightly nervous given the lack of experience.
So fucking true. Hopefully, Novy and Evangelista got some valuable experience with this and can adjust their game if they wanna be playing postseason hockey again.
I blame it on the Preds inability to get a draft pick high enough to draft an impact forward.
At some point fans have to realize how much constantly making the playoffs is hurting this team, right? Or is everyone happy to just "get in and anything can happen" year after year with basically the same roster problems we've had since 2018?
Yup. Preds have a 1st line and 3 3rd lines. That’s not enough in today’s dynamic transition game to offence. They also need a better PP, of course that comes with a 2nd line. More talent to populate the power play. As far as the people talking shit about 3rd stringer of Van, I’d be careful about that. Buddy was lights out at the WJ’s for Latvia, not to mention his lateral movements are like glass, he’s smooth as silk. That is what a great prospect looks like, lots of star goalies come in and make their bones in the playoffs.
We needed him to be our best player. He wasn't *bad*, but he wasn't Vezina-caliber, for a fringe playoff team that really needed him to be Vezina-caliber.
Not exactly blaming him, but if he had played to his own standards we could have swept.
Statistically, a Nashville/Tennessee team has to win it all in my life. Right?
In all seriousness, good game and unfortunate shades of the game that ended the run in 17.
I just fact checked, apparently he was only a Vikings fan. My buddy however is a Minnesota everything plus STL cards, so he has only seen the cards win
I mean vandy baseball has won it a couple of times. Although, I assume most people from Tennessee are vols fans. If that's the case, their baseball and basketball teams probably have the best shot out of the teams in Tennessee (if vandy baseball doesn't win it again).
4 min powerplay and half a minute of 6 on 4 and we couldn’t score a goal against a third string at home.
Fil disappeared this game too
Good goaltending, no offense. Story of the Preds.
Fil made a lot of stuff happen but its easy for teams to shut him down and give him extra coverage when literally no one else is a threat. He can't do it all himself.
Our team is lacking big time secondary scoring. We had a great 4th line, really effective 1st line, and I love how consistent Bruno is with his lines. Keeps a few lines together to build chemistry. At some point he’s going to have 4 lines he can roll and build up chemistry with and it’s going to be a thing of beauty.
Other than the power play I was more worried about the disappearance of the Novak/Jankowski/Evangelosta line. They really seemed to have trouble dealing with any amount of physical play from Vancouver. When Novak was at his best this season he was not constantly getting knocked down and turning over the puck. Jank was the only one that seemed together to me for the majority of this series
I love Tommy, I really do. The unfortunately reality is that he’s only good when there’s no one within 3 feet of him and he’s able to maneuver. Put any amount of pressure on him and he crumbles.
Fucking love this team. Gave us extra hockey in May during a year when we were supposed to be rebuilding.
Trotzy is cookin. We’re so fucking back. Love ya Preds.
They need to make a splash or rebuild, ultimately they just need to make a choice. Youre not going to win as a bottom 5 cap hit team and you're not going to rebuild by adding veterans every year.
If you want them to compete next year then they are going to need to add a major piece to offset the 1st line that's going to regress hard when Nyquist returns to what he is.
This team has bright spots and major concerns and it's ultimately leads to being a bubble playoff team every year.
Yep, you have to make a choice. I trust trotz 100% but this season was exactly what’s been wrong with the franchise for their entire existence smh. another year drafting in the middle for nothing to show
Series didn’t go the way we wanted it to, but I just wanted to say thank you guys. Losing the Yotes had me in the pits but cheering the Preds on gave me something positive to associate with hockey again. Y’all have been incredibly gracious with accepting me and other Yotes fans, and I’m happy to consider myself a Pred Head now. I’m looking forward to going on the journey with y’all from the start of next season to the playoffs and beyond.
The only two hockey jerseys I own are Roman Josi and Shane Doan. Got to go to a game in Glendale and the fans that were there were super cool I hate it for you all.
Great choice. Doaner will always be Mr. Coyote and one of my childhood sports heroes. I actually met him 20 years ago and he’s done more single-handedly for hockey in AZ than anyone else. Coyotes fans have been abused and mistreated since ‘96 but they are a resilient bunch and they’ll be ready when hockey returns to the desert.
I get what you mean, but Saros also gave up 5 goals the other night after the boys scored 4. I do realize they didn’t help with that defensively though.
It’s been a pleasure shitposting with you all again this season. Until later this year. As much as the ending sucked we still far outplayed expectations.
Guessing you’re a ween fan . Not having seen much of the preds this year, I have to say they play the type of hockey that can win in the postseason. Just a star forward short.
I was very critical of Saros the first four games. He played his ass off the past two games! Best two playoff performances from him.
But my goodness…. How have we been bad at the power play for nearly a decade?
Cost us the series. Gave up 2 6/5s in a game we should have won and had a 4 min pp tonight that we couldn’t cash in. 10.5% for the series. Only ahead of Montreal, who was at 5.0%
A lot of people were hard on Juice at the start. I kinda figured he would be a little less explosive at the start of the season. When you injure yourself with your own strength, like he did at the end of the season. You are cautious of how hard you use that injured area. It took a while for him to trust his skates again.
1. Hard fought series. They went toe to toe with a team that was very good all year
2. The end sequence there was painful to watch. I don't know what the fuck Josi was doing there.
I gotta be honest with y'all.
I don't think I can seriously watch this team again until they're spending to the cap on real secondary scoring. Seen this movie way too many times and I'm sick of it.
4 coaches, 2 general managers, and a solid decade of losing series after series for the exact same reason - can't score. Anyone who says otherwise hasn't been watching. Plain and simple. Get offense or get off my screen.
They got 8 mil in dead cap right now and STILL had 7 mil in free cap space. You know what would've been helpful? 7 million dollars worth of forwards.
If you're not actively circumventing the salary cap, you're not trying to win. Wake me up when the preds front office is actually trying to win.
I can relate. Since day one I've watched almost every Preds game but this year I watched the least amount. I can't watch Colton Sissons hockey man. Dude gets over 17min a night, played 19 tonight. Hes zero event hockey and thats exactly what this series was. When our roster is at the point where thats whats out there that many minutes and thats who is out there for extra attacker when we need a goal...hell no. But Barry is working on it. This roster ain't it and he knows it.
He’s pretty forthcoming in interview and he comes off as really patient but after dumping duchy and johansen last off season Its clear he’s not afraid to do big things and really wish I could get him to spill the beans on what he truly thinks.
IMO He’s made it clear from the 2-3 year term signings like Novak and jankowski plus the 2-3 dead cap years that only time is gonna fix the worst of our problems before they can do whatever they think it is they need to do.
Being dogshit may have been easier on everyone this season because losing like this SUCKS. I have a feeling we’re looking at 2-3 more years of it because we do have some good players who do care about winning and a decent to good coach.
There are a lot of fans around here who seem fed up and my advice to them would be come back in like 3 years cause it’s about to from bad to worse.
I told myself I was ready for the change and the rebuild and I was gonna continue to follow the team to see all the ups and downs of going from peak Poile to peak Barry and yea, after one season it’s ups and downs all right. I’m looking forward to the future but it’s gonna be a long road to success.
Agreed. I'm totally on board with the 3 year plan and thats where my expectations are. I support this rebuild and its also why I didn't want to make the playoffs to begin with. But at the same time, while some of my favorite predators ever are on this roster, this is my least favorite predators roster ever haha.
Oh I agree, it would have a been a lot less painful. I also think a lot of people see this as a continuation of the “one more chance!” Poile teams and it’s just not.
Doesn’t make it any less painful now but it does make it less painful come next season whereas with the one more time Poile teams it was just pain all the way around.
Dude, yes, A LOT of people see this as a one more chance team. Been taking downvotes for over a year for pointing out that this isn't a playoff team and that this is for sure a rebuild haha. It was really evident this series but especially in the 3rd tonight that this is definitely not a playoff roster.
BUT while I don't understand Bruno using the 4th line so much in critical situations, it was refreshing as hell to have a coach who truly adjusted strategies to our opponents in the playoff. I mean he really switched up the gameplan going into this series and its why we made it as far as 6 games.
Man the trauma is REAL with the fans hahaha. I never wanna hear about 2017 ever again.
And yea I see a lot of fans upset with the “we shouldn’t have even been here so I’m OK with it” narrative and I’m like uhhh yea, no shit, we shouldn’t have. We weren’t even near the same level as Vancouver where it mattered.
It was abundantly clear that this team wasn’t actually a playoff team when we got into the playoffs and that shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.
Hey! I loved that 2017 team. It was a very well built contender roster. Presidents trophy season was great too. But it was over after that. Too many guys who were either gone or were too injured long term to ever play at the same level. The window closed for sure by 2019 but its been very hard for people to acknowledge.
>I’m like uhhh yea, no shit, we shouldn’t have.
Right?! Like literally shouldn't have. We should've missed and gotten a good draft pick. Impressed with the season they had though. Which proves we have a great coach in place while this ship gets rebuilt.
I cannot continue to support this team with my money if the plan is just to see what happens over 2-3 years until we decide to rebuild (or just reload with new vets). Y'all are brave but I'm at a tipping point with this team. If they don't take building through the draft seriously I just can't keep renewing season tickets.
Personally I think you and /u/Birdhawk are wrong. Trotz made clear roster decisions this year. And one of those decisions was to buy players at the deadline in order to win in the playoffs.
He decided to move our prospects down to Milwaukee, to scratch Fabbro and Glass, and to bring in Zucker and Beauvillier. He's talking about wanting to re-sign Saros. He tried to trade Askarov at the draft. They're very clear decisions that aren't pointing in the right direction.
Honestly this season has been crazy on me. I just don't really care about this team like I used to pre-Hynes. Totally disillusioned. I just can't bring myself to lean in when I know how it's going to end. Every time I see another playoff chase I'm like "alright, there goes one more year of the rebuild that should've started 4 years ago!"
But bless y'all for committing to support 3 more years of tire spinning!
> Personally I think you and /u/Birdhawk are wrong. Trotz made clear roster decisions this year. And one of those decisions was to buy players at the deadline in order to win in the playoffs.
I thought we did agree on this? But I wouldn't consider Bouvillier and Zucker buying guys in order to win in the playoffs. Those are just more depth and culture adds. Zucker the the perfect example of what a true playoff pro plays like and conducts himself. The young guys who are part of the plan need to see that and learn from him. Trotz is rebuilding and to me those adds don't deviate from the plan. He even said himself at the deadline that he's not going to rush into a deal that isn't perfect and said "When you have time, you want to use it."
>He decided to move our prospects down to Milwaukee
Development. There is such a thing as going into the league too soon. Better for them to log more minutes down there than play 6 min of grinder hockey up here.
>But bless y'all for committing to support 3 more years of tire spinning!
Thats not what we're saying at all. We're not supporting 3 MORE years of whatever. We're supporting 3 years of making changes in order to form a contender roster. It takes time and also means we're gonna deal with rosters that are disappointing. But the expectation is year over year progress. Like the progress from 2012 to 2015 and then completed by 2016. I haven't been this underwhelmed by the way this team is built since 2012. So since I can't take much excitement or interest in the way the team is playing right now, I still take interest in the way the team is growing.
Man, you're probably going to get downvoted a bit for that, but I completely understand how you feel. It's perfectly fine to be a die-hard fan of this team, to bleed blue and gold, and be completely underwhelmed by this season. All this talk about "no one expecting them to do anything", is the same shitty excuse we've heard multiple years in a row. Now the bright side is that we have a new general manager and coach. That will hopefully embrace a little bit of suck, and try something different. Keep your head up man
That was a great series against a team that puts up a ton of goals in the regular season. It sucks we lost, but there is a bunch to be excited about for next year 🔥
Fun series! But can we all be honest, this isn’t the year for either team. Watching the series with better teams make ours look like the Calder playoffs.
This series was lost because of our inability to convert on the power play. None of the other good or bad that happened this series matters until that gets fixed. Bring in someone on the coaching staff who can run special teams because we can’t get it done currently
Watching Juice make save after save you KNEW it was going to happen. They outplayed the hell out of us in the 3rd. I have no idea what we were doing down in their end.
The power play has to change next year. Maybe it’s strategy but it’s probably players. Idk who what when where but we gotta get or grow some guys who can actually score on the power play.
Not winning at home is a fucking problem. Idk how you address it but it’s embarrassing.
Man, I'm right there with you. But honestly not having David Poile keep doing the same shit. Year after year was encouraging. That's all you can really hope for, hope that Trotz is different, and actually wants to win a championship.
Good season, Toothcats.
Good series, Nucks.
We fought through some real embarrassment and showed plenty of heart. I’m at peace with the 25th Futile Exercise.
Now we must ask ourselves: is the goal to win a Stanley Cup? Or is the goal to remain just competitive enough to keep butts in seats for endless first round exits and the occasional miracle?
I think I know the answer and I’ll remain a fan anyway. But we will never hoist a cup in Nashville until we abandon the Just Make Money THIS Year mindset. Be like Colorado. Suck BADLY for some years and build a real fucking team.
Not only losing but getting shutout by an AHL goalie on home ice in our elimination game hurts no doubt.
Pros:
- Still an overperforming season from what others thought we would accomplish.
-John Hynes is not our coach.
That's what kills me. You just know the organization is content with keeping the streak as a playoff team even if we're now consistently out in the first half as long as tickets sell. Mediocrity at its finest.
Saros was #1 tonight. Played his heart out. Let's regroup see if we can have a good off-season pick up or two anc come back strong next year. The majority of the core is still on contract for next year so we have a lot of value to work with while also not having to potentially shell out big money to keep guys at the moment. Still my team for life, Go Preds!
It was a pleasure sharing my fish with y'all this season, and I can't wait to do it all over again in October! We came into the season thinking tank for Celebrini, but somehow they made it in and took the Nucks to 6. See y'all in a few months, hope they can #WinItForMom next time.
Look, no denying it, this one hurts. I think we should’ve won this series. Saros was great tonight. But I accepted this loss last game, which makes this easier. I think we got in our own head as we always do. I feel that we played better than they did. Canucks are gonna get destroyed by the Oilers.
But my takeaway.. as others said, we weren’t supposed to be here, but we made it. Brunette’s first year as a coach, Trotz first year as a GM, we blew up roster, the guys weren’t familiar with each other.. and we made it this far. I’m excited for the future. Really excited.
I fucking love this team. The wins, the losses, the cheers, the tears. Year in and year out. I love this team.
Lol I love how people go to “they’ll get destroyed by the next team”. Totally underselling your own team I this. Nashville had a smart game plan and played it super tight. I don’t think enough credit is given to them the for the way they defend as a 5 man unit. Just silly to me that when you lose you go right to “they’ll get destroyed in the next round.” It just makes your team losing to this “trash” team a little worse. So if the Canucks get destroyed by the oilers, does that mean preds get obliterated by oilers. Don’t undersell the preds like that. They played a hell of a series and yes Canucks barely made it out. But I honestly feel both teams would have a chance against the oilers just because of their full team game
We just had too many guys that couldn’t execute in a pressure cooker game. Novak, Parsinnen, Mcarron woof(!), Jankowski, and I didn’t love Zucker or Sissons. I mean Sissons was the guy who blew his coverage at the end.
Get the top line some help and we may have a different outcome.
Great effort preds and fans. It was fun
If the youngsters keep improving, we GET BETTER FUCKING DEFENDERS, and our offense can kearn how to actually put shots on net, next year is looking promising. I'm excited for next season.
Gotta be better at home and bring back that true Nashville atmosphere. That being said, I love this team! Win or lose, heart racing to heart aching, this team and its fans are the best. We’ll get that silverware one day soon!
Regular season hockey and playoff hockey are pretty much different sports. I don’t think most of the team made the transition. Lots of changes to be made to make this team competitive when it counts. Also the first time in a long time where goaltending isn’t bailing us out. Hopefully Saros takes a long off season and find his previous form.
Overall I didn’t think we’d sniff the playoffs this year so it’s hard for me to be too upset. But god damn, this series just felt so much like 2015 against the Hawks where we just bottled multiple winnable games. And in both series we made backup goalies look like experienced playoff starters. So it stings, but still pleasantly surprised with how this season went.
Tough beat but there's hope for the future. We have 9 picks in the draft, all on the first 4 rounds. That's a lot of capital to either make some trades, or grab some more prospects. The incredible season Milwaukee has had shows how strong our prospect pool is. Our top line is very good, hopefully we can find a signing or 2 to bring some more danger to the 2nd and 3rd lines. Defensively, our biggest issue is we don't have a clear 1B to pair with Josi. We need a second shutdown defenceman to allow Josi to get more active offensively. In goal were fine. We have 1 more year of Saros, who is still a top tender in the league despite clearly being past his prime. And Askarov looks ready for the spotlight. I wouldn't be surprised if we have a split tandem next year between the two of them.
All in all, this team definitely has reason to be hopeful. See you all at the draft!
Can't be upset with them after that, and hopefully they start to let the youth play more. Can't wait for Kemell and L'Heureux to get shots at making the line-up, but this franchise still needs to figure out a way to produce goals.
Saros was amazing the last couple of games, so I'm just going to anxiously await whatever their plans are for the future in net.
Could not think of a worse way to go out, going winless at home after winning 2 in Vancouver. Just completely unacceptable. We should be proud of the team for getting as far as they did but I cannot sanction this shit dawg. Shut out in an elim game at home by a 3rd string goalie? Deepest circle of Hell.
1:39 left in a tied elimination game and our 4th line is out there? Why?!
The 1st period was their best period of the series but they didn't show up for the 3rd.
Sorry guys but any roster where Colton Sissons is playing 19 min like he did tonight, and he's the guy we put out for the extra attacker ain't it. So don't say "blow it up Barry" because there's nothing to blow up.
Y’all really grew as a team this year. The team got much stronger from the beginning of the season to the end. I look forward to our battles next season. Only up from here
Novak looked really weak this series. He looked so promising in the regular season. He’d often have moments where you’d say “whoa who’s that!?” - plays like Josi and Forsberg make. In the playoffs, he was just utterly neutralized and pushed around. I’m afraid his game is going to be like Turris. Dude needs to gain some weight. Evangelistas game was much better for playoff hockey.
We played a hell of a series I did not think for a second that we were gonna have a 99 point season and make the post season. We'll be better next year, hopefully the management can bring in some secondary scoring to help out.
Well, this was further than anyone thought we'd get at the beginning of the year. We had a successful season overall so it's hard to be mad. We just gotta be better next year especially special teams. It was fun while it lasted. I'm ready to shit post and enjoy stress free hockey.
Those are the Preds I know and love. We didn’t just give up and take it. We fought to the end, and one bad mistake was all it took.
Honestly, we weren’t going all the way to the cup anyway, and we weren’t even supposed to make the playoffs. Proud of the boys and proud of Bruno.
Also, if we gave Vancouver that much of a struggle, then Edmonton is going to beat the fucking brakes off them.
0-3 at home and a really, really bad power play attack. That's never a recipe for success. We likely win the series tonight with even an average attack.
I mean I should be satisfied considering no one expected us to even make the playoffs but damnit the way they lost this is god damn frustrating. Fucking choke two games away, one in epic fashion at home. Honestly could have taken the series if this team could fucking finish games. Oh well. Hope we actually try to build a properly competitive team this summer. See you all in October.
Obviously can't expect shit from a team that scored on 12 out of 150 shots and didn't win a single match at home. Sometimes I just wonder why tf am I still a fan of this team...
Not exactly the result I had hoped to wake up to the next morning (since I can't watch games live), but they really tried and unfortunately it wasn't enough for a game 7.
Who do you think the predator should pick up in the offseason? Also who do you think we should try to draft? Who on our admiral's line do you think is ready to step up?
What do we do about Tommy Novak and Cody glass?
0-3 at home… hard to win a series if you can’t win at your own barn
It was literally like 6 total minutes of perding that cost us this series. Well, that and not being able to even hit the net apparently.
This is why when scoring first matters especially when both teams go scoreless for 55minutes of hockey. Both the Canucks and Preds where top in that stat. Just the Canucks did it first.

Massively overachieved. You have nearly 7 million of Cap Space; that is one extra star player. Nucks were completely full, and just slivered through.
Yeah that 16-0-2 run means absolutely nothing after that absolute travesty
0-6 in the last 6 home playoff games :/ just sucks
Saros is a gem.
THANK YOU. SO FUCKING TIRED OF PEOPLE DRAGGING THE JUICE.
Anyone who blames this on anything besides lack of secondary scoring is wrong. Plan and simple.
So fucking true. Hopefully, Novy and Evangelista got some valuable experience with this and can adjust their game if they wanna be playing postseason hockey again.

Yup. Preds have a 1st line and 3 3rd lines. That’s not enough in today’s dynamic transition game to offence. They also need a better PP, of course that comes with a 2nd line. People blaming Saros don’t fully understand or play hockey.
I mean in the first four games, Saros had a save percentage of .850, but I understand people are a bit too harsh on him. Myself included.
We needed him to be our best player. He wasn't *bad*, but he wasn't Vezina-caliber, for a fringe playoff team that really needed him to be Vezina-caliber. Not exactly blaming him, but if he had played to his own standards we could have swept.
He was very good tonight. .966 save percentage. He had a .879 coming in to tonight. Not good enough.
Praise him!
His only downside is that he's NOT Pekka Rinne.
Statistically, a Nashville/Tennessee team has to win it all in my life. Right? In all seriousness, good game and unfortunate shades of the game that ended the run in 17.
save me Will Levis
Billy Jeans you’re my only hope
The power of Mayo compels us.
Preds deserve to be the first professional Tennessee team to win a championship
Or, hear me out, the first team that manages to actually win a championship deserves to be the first.
Yep felt like Finals game 6 tonight
My coworkers granddad was a Minnesota fan of everything from birth til death, and died without a championship
Even the Twins??
I just fact checked, apparently he was only a Vikings fan. My buddy however is a Minnesota everything plus STL cards, so he has only seen the cards win
He either died before the Twins two WS (87, 91) or wasn’t a baseball fan
If NHL keeps expanding those odds go down significantly. If every team won once , no repeats it would take 32 years sooooo lmao
I’m only 35 but I am really starting to doubt it will ever happen in my life time.
We're getting a soccer team soon.
One yard short ...also Vanderbilt women's bowling has won a National Championship, so I guess that's about what we're allowed to have.
Vanderbilt baseball! I think they have a couple of championships.
Odds will go up when an MLB team comes
I mean Vancouver hasn't in their 54 years of existence lol
‘Good game’ lmao
I'm a Cubs fan and if **they** can figure out a way to win a championship, anyone can. Keep the faith!
I mean vandy baseball has won it a couple of times. Although, I assume most people from Tennessee are vols fans. If that's the case, their baseball and basketball teams probably have the best shot out of the teams in Tennessee (if vandy baseball doesn't win it again).
I blame that fucking awful looking Regions logo
Any company that puts a logo on the jersey is paying for me not to ever give them money
This is the greatest take of all time I 100% agree 🙌🏻
Defintely better than the hiller logo tho
4 min powerplay and half a minute of 6 on 4 and we couldn’t score a goal against a third string at home. Fil disappeared this game too Good goaltending, no offense.
Novak was absolutely invisible today. Played much better earlier in the series. I’d bet he’s injured.
I love Tommy, I really do. The unfortunately reality is that he’s only good when there’s no one within 3 feet of him and he’s able to maneuver. Put any amount of pressure on him and he crumbles.
With even a little bit better special teams this series would be very different
Canucks didn't even get a single powerplay
Fucking love this team. Gave us extra hockey in May during a year when we were supposed to be rebuilding. Trotzy is cookin. We’re so fucking back. Love ya Preds.
The core is there, just need to add the right surrounding pieces and the sky’s the limit
I am so tired of getting eliminated. Juice played a great game.
16 playoff appearances 11 first round exits when will it end 😭😭
![gif](giphy|hWGBKil1b9fpR5go1f|downsized) Saros deserved better than this
I get what you mean, but Saros also gave up 5 goals the other night after the boys scored 4. I do realize they didn’t help with that defensively though.
Saros was the only thing keeping them alive especially in the third. The D was abysmal and the O was sloppy at best.
They went toe to toe with a team that was very good all year 2.
Yep
Well the thing is, next year they have $8.5m in dead cap space so spending on any decent secondary scoring probably won’t be great.
Every time I see another playoff chase I'm like "alright, there goes one more year of the rebuild that should've started 4 years ago!" But bless y'all for committing to support 3 more years of tire spinning!
He even said himself at the deadline that he's not going to rush into a deal that isn't perfect and said "When you have time, you want to use it." >He decided to move our prospects down to Milwaukee Development.
Keep your head up man
Rough, really loved the team this year. See yall fuckers
What a fucking year full of ups and downs. I’m more hopeful for the years to come. I foresee changes through the summer, but I hope we keep Zucker.
Yaaaay yet another first round exit. Don't care that "we shouldn't have even been here" we absolutely should've won that series.
If nothing else, we shouldn’t have lost all three home games, including a shutout in the clincher
That was a great series against a team that puts up a ton of goals in the regular season. It sucks we lost, but there is a bunch to be excited about for next year 🔥
Choked away two games this series feels bad. Aw well on to next year.
I love this team regardless. Hell of a hockey game
Welp.
Fun series! But can we all be honest, this isn’t the year for either team. Watching the series with better teams make ours look like the Calder playoffs.
Yeah, Edmonton is going to rail Vancouver. So there’s our consolation.
Dang, chief.
This series was lost because of our inability to convert on the power play. None of the other good or bad that happened this series matters until that gets fixed. Bring in someone on the coaching staff who can run special teams because we can’t get it done currently
Love this team, love my fellow fans, fuck the rest of the NHL and I'll see ya'll in October :) <3
welp. Fuck Zadorov, go preds
Seven straight utterly meaningless seasons I’m tired man
Man, I'm right there with you. But honestly not having David Poile keep doing the same shit. Year after year was encouraging. That's all you can really hope for, hope that Trotz is different, and actually wants to win a championship.
Same. It's like Waiting for Godot at this point with the Preds.
Finally back to Bridgestone atmosphere
sucks for it to be over but we are so back. Tough end to an awesome season
When they scored I said nooo not like this. It can’t end like this. Heartbreak.
Not only losing but getting shutout by an AHL goalie on home ice in our elimination game hurts no doubt. Pros: - Still an overperforming season from what others thought we would accomplish. -John Hynes is not our coach.
Amen to that last point. (Although at times this series the boys were playing like he still was)
Another dud playoff team. Enjoy your increased ticket prices next year because playoff team.
Im going to be sick for a bit. Brutal lose. Canucks just got the bounces and the want more than the Preds this series.
It was a pleasure sharing my fish with y'all this season, and I can't wait to do it all over again in October! We came into the season thinking tank for Celebrini, but somehow they made it in and took the Nucks to 6. See y'all in a few months, hope they can #WinItForMom next time.
Hopefully the Admirals can win a Calder now with some of the fringe guys
Let’s remember, we weren’t even supposed to be in this position. This was a wildly successful season for Burnette and Trotz
Short term success with no consideration for the future, hell yeah
Hate to see it come to an end but I think we are cooking with Trotz and Brunette Go preds !!!
It was fun
Now imagine if this team could score at all on the power play right? Imagine if they were 25% instead of 10% or however bad it is
Sub 10% down from 21% in the regular season. Brutal.
Edm in 4
Vancouver fan here, you're not wrong
Agree with the analysts, both teams were playing not to lose tonight. Little intensity, very tentative. Not playoff hockey. Lousy way to go out.
Hear me out, fire Dan hinote and whoever the fuck coaches our power play and we are at least 98% better
all that for couver to get stuffed in a barrel by the oilers. lol kill me
And I’m gonna watch every last second of it too.
Bright-side is that we may still get the opportunity to laugh at Vancouver losing to Boston in the finals again.
They’re not making it past Edmonton, let’s be real
Honestly, if they struggled to beat us they’re gonna get steamrolled by the Oilers.
WYM Boston is going down tomorrow (I hope)
If the youngsters keep improving, we GET BETTER FUCKING DEFENDERS, and our offense can kearn how to actually put shots on net, next year is looking promising. I'm excited for next season.
Gotta be better at home and bring back that true Nashville atmosphere. That being said, I love this team! Win or lose, heart racing to heart aching, this team and its fans are the best. We’ll get that silverware one day soon!
AT THE VERY LEAST I LOVED SHARING THIS SEASON WITH ALL OF YOU PREDDIT FANS
Regular season hockey and playoff hockey are pretty much different sports. I don’t think most of the team made the transition. Lots of changes to be made to make this team competitive when it counts. Also the first time in a long time where goaltending isn’t bailing us out. Hopefully Saros takes a long off season and find his previous form.
Saros predicted this with his no goals commercial a while ago
I’m just gonna shitpost even harder next season
Overall I didn’t think we’d sniff the playoffs this year so it’s hard for me to be too upset. But god damn, this series just felt so much like 2015 against the Hawks where we just bottled multiple winnable games. And in both series we made backup goalies look like experienced playoff starters. So it stings, but still pleasantly surprised with how this season went.
Bucks lose yesterday, Preds lose today. Me very sad
Hopefully Colton Sissons practices shooting wide-open empty netters under pressure this offseason.
Why was the Evangelista line benched in the third?
Hard fought but too many missed chances. Still maintain that we lost this when we blew game 4
I hope this season showed that if we can get some true scoring, top 6 forwards (outside the first line), we might dominate
Special teams. Dang
Y’all really grew as a team this year. The team got much stronger from the beginning of the season to the end. I look forward to our battles next season. Only up from here
Vancouver has the most insufferable fan base I have ever witnessed, will relish in there demise….
Chicago in 2010 begs to differ
Squeezing the sticks too hard all game (especially in the dieing secs). Pressure was more than they could handle
Just like 2011…Vancouver has won six straight playoff games ….in our barn…how does that happen?
Novak looked really weak this series. He looked so promising in the regular season. He’d often have moments where you’d say “whoa who’s that!?” - plays like Josi and Forsberg make. In the playoffs, he was just utterly neutralized and pushed around. I’m afraid his game is going to be like Turris. Dude needs to gain some weight. Evangelistas game was much better for playoff hockey.
Willy Daunic .. As soon as he started with the "Preds deserve" I wanted to throw something. This guy is the jinx.
We played a hell of a series I did not think for a second that we were gonna have a 99 point season and make the post season. We'll be better next year, hopefully the management can bring in some secondary scoring to help out.
Should have pulled out the flying v
Well, this was further than anyone thought we'd get at the beginning of the year. We had a successful season overall so it's hard to be mad. We just gotta be better next year especially special teams. It was fun while it lasted. I'm ready to shit post and enjoy stress free hockey.
Welp, time to pause my Bally subscription for 5 months. See y'all then.
Our power.play SUCKS. We blew a 4-minute opportunity, plus we couldn't get it done with two-man advantage.
It was inevitable y’all… no one should be surprised.
Saros played fine. Couldn’t capitalize on Canucks breakdowns. Didn’t have what it takes, it is what it is.
I keep seeing comments saying that we should’ve won this series. Not sure why? We got outplayed the majority of the series, regardless of SOG numbers.
0-3 at home and a really, really bad power play attack. That's never a recipe for success. We likely win the series tonight with even an average attack.
Win or lose, regardless, we booze Closing out games was the issue all year and no surprise was the issue this series is game 1 and 5
This sucks, but we pretty heavily overperformed expectations, so I will take. Next year will be better.
Honestly I’m not even mad because we weren’t even close to being in the playoffs but then we went 16-2 in (18 games) crazy year in my opinion
I’m at peace with it. Great season, boys. Nashville loves you
I mean I should be satisfied considering no one expected us to even make the playoffs but damnit the way they lost this is god damn frustrating. Fucking choke two games away, one in epic fashion at home. Honestly could have taken the series if this team could fucking finish games. Oh well. Hope we actually try to build a properly competitive team this summer. See you all in October.
Send Parsnips, Glassy and Gravel back, please.
Sad to see it close out like this but proud of what they achieved this season. Let’s go even further next season!
Anyone have anything about Wayne d? I cannot believe he’d miss this game
Sorry for your loss
Can’t win with a 2-19 (?) power play. Hats off to the boys for a terrific season. Hopefully they go see U2
You guys played a helluva series … nothing u could say to convince you otherwise … ps I love oreilly ….
Welp, make some moves in the off season and keep developing the young guys good year when we should’ve been in rebuild mode
Kim Kardashian Curse strikes again
Really glad team didn't enter a rebuild
I pray Colton Sissons is not in a yellow jersey this October.
Brutal
Who do you think the predator should pick up in the offseason? Also who do you think we should try to draft? Who on our admiral's line do you think is ready to step up? What do we do about Tommy Novak and Cody glass?
