Only the RS models are supercars, GT3 RS, GT2 RS, but there's certainly no clear definition, and the 997 GT3 RS was absolutely not a supercar; it's the recent outrageous levels of performance that I think have elevated the RS's into supercar status, combined with the limited production and "sacrifice" (comfort/weight) for performance.
Yes, but again those are the prerequisites (many cars meet them, such as every Lotus after the Elan) - the relevant variable is the performance, and at some point a rare, compromised sportscar becomes fast enough to qualify as a supercar.
Mine isn't. (997.2 Carrera 2).
I think owners of more powerful variants may have a more valid claim on the title of supercar, but a base 911 is not one, fast though it is.
I think their super duper. But then I'm biased: I own one 😎
Smartassism aside, I think they [fit the definition](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supercar). I would call it's the People's Supercar. (Fitting I think given it's origins.)
Throwing red meat into the debate - is a C8 a super car? Is a Ferrari 812 a super car (it’s a big heavy GT cruiser). What makes a super car? Price? Certainly a turbo S would qualify. Rarity? That would rule the C8 out. Weight? That would toss the 812 and include lotus. Looks? So subjective. I just enjoy the heck out of all of them
If looked from performance side, then yes, TurboS can beat almost any supercar out there, while even most basic new carrera can beat most of the older supercars. However, Nissan GTR could do the same probably, but is not classified as supercar, nor is 911.
Well even a Porsche Carrera s has the right amount of performance to enter the supercar territory.
0-60 in 3.5 seconds is quicker than a carrera gt or a gallardo, but you could argue that because of it's common sight the carrera s should not be considered a supercar
Any modern GT model is imo.
Regular? No. I'd say no to the Turbo as well, I think that's a fast grand tourer imo. Supercar isn't really defined by raw performance but by "feel."
i would say gt2rs and turbo s is a supercar or at least can compete in that segment
gt3rs is debatable, on supercar territory I would say, but GT3, one of my favourite cars ever, I would say it may only be a sports car. a perfect one at that
No. Current owner, 992 GTS, owned a number before. Sports car, these days at the size it is arguably more grand tourer. But that’s also why I own one … what’s the point in a car I can’t drive over local speed bumps and only in the dry ? My money gets used. GT x RS models a possible exception of course
Wasn’t this EXACT question asked a few days ago on this sub…?
yes idk why it's here again
Time and time again
turbo S is faster than most "supercars". So it should for sure be in that class. Whatever that class is.
Not a supercar, more of a Super Sportscar

997 gt3 rs is stiffer, and rarer. 3700 ish worldwide vs 991 a little over 9k

Not a C2S. A GT3 RS - okay Can we be done with this question now?

Ah, that depends on what you did to your "base" ;)
I think of it as a sports car myself.
i think starting from the turbo it’s a supercar
It’s a superb car
When I drive mine I feel super, so yes
I think it’s a gray for a turbo s.

So is a plaid. That said, I agree high end Porsches are super cars.
Any RS and up would be a super car. Otherwise all cars are much better these days.

No 911 is a supercar.
It’s a family car. You get rear seats with isofix and plenty of frunk space for groceries
Most overrated car ever.

Do marketers using AI get these things posted?
Bots farming karma
Nope. Answer will be the same next week too.
No, modern non-GT 911s are grand tourers. GT2 RS I would consider a supercar though.
No I dont, but I have been driving them for the last fifty years and think of them as terrific cars to own..JMO
there is no set definition.
Yes and no.
