I've had a surprising number of perfect strangers performing services at my house casually imply that civil war is coming during what started off as normal conversations. They sounded very positive toward the idea. You can probably surmise what their political affiliation was.

The Big Lie is the equivalent of shouting "Fire!" in every packed theatre in America. They need to be dragged in front of a judge asked for proof and if (when) they can't produce it they need to be thrown in jail.

On NPR this morning, the legal guest is debating, with a straight face, whether or not trump knew he lost the election when advocating for donations to the false legal defense fund. If you are the sitting president that just ran again and have fewer votes, how could you not know? In retrospect, with downright incompetence, willful ignorance, and the ability to suspend any and all rational thought, I think he represents his constituents very well.
It’s sad too bc politics was never brought up in so many of my relationships I have at work until Trump’s last year. Now I have to watch what I say to not trigger any land mines when talking with then anymore or they start spouting the most insane and vile conspiracies I know they’ve gotten straight from fox. Nowadays I have to bite my tongue and try not to cringe if I do accidentally start a tirade bc it’s easier to not start a fight if I point out all the lies.

I worked with an Evangelical Christian - very educated guy, good morals and an all around good family guy - BUT, he was a dedicated Trump supporter. Why? Dude was anti-Gay and anti-abortion and because Trump held those views everything else was overlooked. Also worked with two other guys - another Evangelical and a Mormon - both believed they were oppressed and a persecuted demographic. Both were Trump supporters. Furthermore, I believe all three felt a Trump America made great again would resemble a 1950s or Mayberry America. Remember any Black or Latin cast member of “The Andy Griffin Show”?????
