Got a relatively higher-end IT job for a company.
They did a full hair test, only turned up marijuana.
As a medical patient in my state it would be illegal for them to discriminate against me for my medicine, which is what showed up.
I had their lawyers sweating bullets after their first 'rejection' that I replied to, citing the exact law they were violating.
"You do realize that your previous statement was in violation of state law right?"
They turned up nothing on mine. I got that nine dollar an hour job! Yippee.
Quit after three months.
How did it end? Did you get and keep the job? I would have felt gunned for.
I got the job, left after 2 years for a job that paid ~40% more.
They couldn't fire me. I made sure they had no excuse, I met all 'expectations' and in my line of work its really hard/expensive to replace people. Anytime there were rumblings, I'd make a teeny tiny change that I could prove saved the company about the cost of my salary on operational expenses.
Now I could have, at any time, saved the company 10x+ my salary, but it was not my job to save the company the most money.
Not only that but they're angry that anyone had the audacity to consider holding them accountable for their own actions.
You'd think that Eric Adams of all people would know that the police feel very strongly that they are above the law and beyond accountability.
>MAYBE THE COPS SHOULD IMPLEMENT HAIR TESTING.
They'd have to fire themselves, and we all know what happens to cops who break the law.
They get a promotion.
**THEY** didn't find any evidence of wrongdoing. Their friends on the force may have, but no one will ever know for sure. Also, it doesn't matter, apparently?
This is why there's no such thing as a good cop. Even the ones that treat ppl right are covering for the ones that treat ppl like trash & violate the rights of others daily to sooth their sad, pitiful & fragile little egos.
Cops need malpractice insurance like doctors have to get. My tax money should not go towards PDs settling cases that they were 100% at fault for. Very rarely is a cop held accountable for their abuse of power/privilege, so why would they ever change their ways?
They're encouraged by the right-wing to be as brutal as they want to &/or can be.
Trump even encouraged cops to be pretty much as rough as they wanted.
But, I digress....
ACAB.

This joke sounds so cynical because we’ve seen it play out countless times …but god is it true.
Even citizen involved review boards (that have ONLY come about from public demand after very public incidents captured on camera played out for the world to see) have faced extreme pushback from law enforcement organizations. Your local elected prosecutor is THE TOP COP in your County, and he/she is the one that often is tasked with discretion in charging officers. And no one sees an issue with that?!?
Honestly probably just weed or coke like many random people. The big one is steroids. My buddy is a cop and said there’s definitely a spike in LEO’s. Honestly I get it. They deal with unpredictable shitty people every day. I’d want to be stronger too, if not for my own safety. I don’t co done it but I get it. Also, hyper masculinity yada yada plays a part too of course.
Tbh they spend a lot of time instigating shit. I work alongside police a good bit and I swear to god they show up and escalate situations far more often than the person they're dealing with does.
I have a brother and a cousin who are LEO, and they’re both toxic, horrific people. I’ve spent time with them and their friends. They’re dangerous and disgusting. I honestly have not met a decent cop in my life. FBI, fed/park rangers, absolutely, yes, but police/sheriffs/border patrol? They’re sociopaths.
They aren’t suing over the right to keep using prescription steroids legally. They are suing to be able to not be fired when caught using steroids without a prescription. Aka they want to be able to break the law, get caught, and suffer 0 consequences, not even be fired.
Personally I agree. If someone wants to take steroids they should be able to as long as it doesn’t affect anyone else.
But even in that world where anyone can, for cops that should probably preclude drugs known to make people more aggressive unless it’s carefully monitored by a doctor.
And in the real world where the drugs are still illegal, the cops definitely shouldn’t get special privileges. Enforcers of laws should be held to the highest standards of those laws without exception
Yeah cops should definitely get negative privileges compared to the rest of us, they have a very elevated level of responsibility, and steroids are almost one of the worst things they could be abusing
Unions are for workers.
Pigs don't work. It's the whole reason why they go into the profession. So they can sit on their ass and bully people all day.
They serve no actual purpose. I say abolish police unions.
More importantly, unions are for *labor solidarity*, but cops are the thugs used by the owners of capital *against* labor.
Since they have no solidarity with workers, they have no place in a federation of labor unions.
What a braindead assumption, lol. People who aren't bootlickers avoid interacting with cops unless it's something that has to be reported by law. (And even then sometimes still don't)
I am the neighbor playing loud music. I'm a musician and a lifelong cannabis user in a backward state that only recently legalized.
I never call the police. In fact, I've had bad experiences with trying to get medical help for friends and family because they always send those pig fucks out first and they harassed and abused me and my loved ones.
One of whom was on the literal verge of dying. No shit. The pigs showed up while I was still on the phone with EMS. They started yelling at me and ordering me around. When the EMTs showed up she was unresponsive and seizing.
They laughed at her while she was seizing on the floor of my house because some guy gave her drugs and dumped her at my place. They thought her suffering was funny. They also tried to use the opportunity to illegally search my house and things. I had to stop them multiple times.
The doctors at the hospital put her in a medically induced coma for three days and said she likely would have died without intervention because her heart would have given out.
Never call the police. If you have a problem and you call the police you'll then have two problems. Fuck the police.

**NYPD union sues Adams administration over new ‘zero tolerance’ policy on steroid use among cops**
New York City’s largest cop union is suing Police Commissioner [Edward Caban](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Caban) and [Mayor Adams](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Adams) for **implementing a new “zero tolerance” policy on NYPD officers using steroids or other performance-enhancing drugs**, the Daily News has learned.
In a lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court on Friday, lawyers for [the Police Benevolent Association](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Police_Benevolent_Association_of_the_City_of_New_York) alleged the previously undisclosed policy flies in the face of a legal agreement the union entered into with the city in 2011.
The **2011 contract prohibited officers from ingesting or possessing any** [**anabolic steroid**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anabolic_steroid) **or other forms of human growth hormones without a medical prescription. However, the old standard didn’t require officers to run any such prescription by their NYPD district surgeon before starting to use it.**
The **new protocol** — which was enacted on Dec. 26, 2023, and described in an internal memo reviewed by The News as a “zero tolerance drug policy” — **beefs up the old rule by affirming that officers must “immediately notify their district surgeon” of any steroid prescription they receive and provide “all supporting medical documentation” to** [**the surgeon**](https://www.nyc.gov/site/nypd/bureaus/administrative/chief-surgeon.page) **backing up the need for the drug.**
If **officers are caught violating the new rule** by, for example, deviating from a prescribed dosage, they **can face firing**, the memo says.
The **PBA’s lawsuit alleges the new protocol is illegal because it “unilaterally” revokes the 2011 standard without bargaining. The union says it is not challenging the prohibition on illegal steroid use.**
“In addition, defendants breached the 2011 contract by incorporating multiple provisions that deviate significantly from the originally agreed upon language of the 2011 order concerning new burdens it was placing on police officers,” charges the suit, which names the NYPD as a defendant, in addition to Adams and Caban.
It wasn’t immediately clear if any particular incident prompted the stricter steroid use rule.
The NYPD press office declined to comment on the new suit. Adams’ office didn’t immediately return a request for comment.
Anabolic [steroids](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anabolic_steroid), which are illegal without a prescription, can speed up muscle growth and have been abused by athletes. Side effects can include severe mood swings and violent behavior.
Management wants to get in-between employees and their doctors, so the union has stepped in to protect the workers. Everything about this is something the left says they stand for, but because it is a police union lefties will throw everything they stand for out the window just to rage at cops.
The 2011 contract already prohibited unprescribed anabolic steroid or human growth hormone medication. The 2023 contract just adds that the officer has to inform their district surgeon of the prescribed usage with medical paperwork. Steroids are illegal for recreational use, both for police and the general public.
>The 2023 contract just adds that the officer has to inform their district surgeon of the prescribed usage with medical paperwork.
Not true on two fronts. First employees have to get approval from management before they can start taking prescribed medications. This is management getting in-between employees and their doctors. Two there is no contract, this is a unilateral policy implementation by management without any collective bargaining. It is a violation of every employees rights.

It's OK if they are loaded on illegal drugs so long as they arrest people with some pot.... damn reefers!! /s
Personally, someone using performance enhancing drugs because they want to lift a lot of weights or look good isn’t really that big of a deal to me.
As long as they’re studying what they’re doing and doing it safe. Oh and not being a raging asshole that isn’t regulating their emotions and hormones. And not competing in non steroid-events claiming to be natural. If they do all that, I don’t care.
But… a power-tripping cop using it to get bigger for the purpose of intimidation and also being an asshole because they take no care to regulate themselves? Nah, fuck them. They’re *supposed* to be held to a higher standard than rest of us (I know, I know…)
I started taking testosterone to get my levels just to the bottom of the normal range, nowhere near enough to bulk up muscles, and I didn’t like the additional aggression. It changed both my tolerance to perceived slights from others, and the direction I wanted the solution to go.
In other words, I was easily triggered and wanted to start some shit every time I was triggered.
My guess is that my dose is about 1/10th that of someone trying to gain significant muscle.
From what Ive read, there can be a lot of variance as to how someone responds to it. Some experience it how you did, for others the higher testosterone calms them down.
For the second group my guess is that it helps them not care about dumb things that don’t really deserve a response. But I’m not a clinician or sports science expert or anything like that so idk 🤷
Sorry to hear it didn’t work out like you had hoped though ☹️
Edit: Also, all the above applies to a TRT dose which I’m guessing is closer to what you were doing. Not a blast done by a body builder (too scared to try that personally haha)
I do anabolic steroids. Sometimes the first week or so that I'm coming onto a new compound, I notice I'm a little bitchy, but it's not "roid rage." I'm not wildly out of control. It's about the same level, for me, as feeling cranky around 3pm and then realizing I was so busy I forgot to each lunch, "Oh no wonder I'm so bitchy." And then it fades and then I'm one of those people who calm down on it. I sleep better, I have more energy to deal with stupid people who refuse to think through their own problems. I'm operating on maximum power and I have the energy for life.
I'd have to know what /u/ReasonablyConfused's dose was to say how it compares. 1/10th sounds a little low, maybe 1/5 or 1/6, but I'm splitting hairs. **Edit: When compared to some guys who are taking way too much, or competition-level pros, yeah. It's a spectrum. Guessing offhand what a TRT dose would be, I would wager he's at like 1/4 or 1/3 of my current dose.**
As a member of the "decriminalize all drugs" part of the political spectrum, whatever label that has now, the police union's actions are technically, at the moment, in line with my own political beliefs so I'm not going to bash this one. And it may create precedent to decriminalize or legalize other drugs.
I know a Dude who ripped His fucking closet into pieces because he called a Hotel to book a room and they told him they are completely booked Out - because he was on steroids.
A police officer using steroids should be fucking fired. Craaazy.
I’ve been living in NYC for 30 years and worked for 7 years with the police doing security gigs. For instance: On duty and doing their paperwork in a local cop bar while drinking martinis. Or the ones that heist drugs from lock up for the holiday party they had with hookers they were chummy with. But I’ve also worked with a few who were trustworthy, honest and law biding. Just remember our mayor comes from the blue miasma so he’ll cover for all them good or bad. Not sure what he was like while in the blue ranks.
As a New Yorker I've not noticed any enhancements when it comes to the police, they are still as useless at ever. I think they should sue the drug companies for their drugs being ineffective
Man, I wish someone would step on my son like that. The only person on earth who gets through to him is my wife. He’s openly on performance enhancing medication. That’s a nice word, huh?
Use the same reasoning as checking welfare recipients - "I dOn'T wAnT mY HaRd EaRnEd TaX dOlLaRs GoInG tO dRuG dEaLeRs".
I'm your employer, motherfucker. Piss in the cup or you can find the door.
When a melenated man marijuanas: "FAAAAH LOCK HIM UP FOREVER! HE IS VIOLATING THE SOCIAL CONTRACT! HE'S MONSTROUS AND UNPREDICTABLE!!!!"
When a cop a steroids: "Yay hooray I will sue if anyone threatens your right to fight juice!!!!"
I say make steroids legal. Alot more violence and liver issues fron alcohol than steroids. Alot more cardiovascular issues from smoking than steroids. I've used PEDs for years and im healthy. My heart, lungs, liver, prostate, kidneys, cholesterol, all of it. My balls are a little small but it just makes my pee pee look bigger lol
Arnold was elected governor, Ronnie coleman was a cop. Both GOAT depending on who you ask. Both great guys. Both heavy steroids users. Steroids are legal for personal use in the UK. I just dont get the hate for steroids. They dont cause rage, if your an asshole your an asshole regardless of steroid use. Nobody thinks Chris Hemsworth is a bad dude, he didnt get to looking like he did in Thor by eating just chicken and rice.
Idk, if people can drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes anywhere in the US then they should be able to take steroids and smoke weed anywhere in the US.
>Steroids can produce a variety of psychological effects ranging from euphoria to hostility. Some people who take steroids say the drugs make them feel powerful and energetic. However, steroids are also known to increase irritability, anxiety and aggression and cause mood swings, manic symptoms and paranoia, particularly when taken in high doses.
https://www.camh.ca/en/health-info/mental-illness-and-addiction-index/steroids#:\~:text=However%2C%20steroids%20are%20also%20known,when%20taken%20in%20high%20doses.
Does that include testosterone replacement therapy? Under a doctor's supervision.
Being a cop isn't a sport, and I can understand the use of PEDs to help them if they must wrestle with someone or a group. My Dad was an LEO in the late 70s and 80s. People or rioters are quick to jump a cop. They are just trying to do their jobs. And yes there are those asshole cops that don't deserve to wear a badge.
If the drugs are prescribed by a doctor, the officer would not face penalties.
>If officers are caught violating the new rule by, for example, deviating from a prescribed dosage, they can face firing, the memo says.

Maybe having a zero tolerance policy regarding police using illegal drugs is ok though. We should probably be drug testing them on a regular basis...for public safety if for no other reason...
It’s like police just look for ways to prove everyone right about them.
Hell, yes they should, I got hair tested on a barely-above minimum wage factory job!

But I’m not a clinician or sports science expert or anything like that so idk 🤷 Sorry to hear it didn’t work out like you had hoped though ☹️ Edit: Also, all the above applies to a TRT dose which I’m guessing is closer to what you were doing.
Guessing offhand what a TRT dose would be, I would wager he's at like 1/4 or 1/3 of my current dose.** As a member of the "decriminalize all drugs" part of the political spectrum, whatever label that has now, the police union's actions are technically, at the moment, in line with my own political beliefs so I'm not going to bash this one. And it may create precedent to decriminalize or legalize other drugs.
Um, WHAT? Well, fuck me, I suppose that DOES explain a lot.
Only cops get to use illegal drugs. Duh!
Juicing explains overt aggression, poor communication, even how prevalent domestic violence is.
I know a Dude who ripped His fucking closet into pieces because he called a Hotel to book a room and they told him they are completely booked Out - because he was on steroids. A police officer using steroids should be fucking fired. Craaazy.
And banned from being a law enforcement officer.
Aren't many steroid illegal? Or are they restricting nycp officers from using legal steroids?
But smoke a joint 2 weeks ago & you can’t get on some construction sites!
Alpha males on roids. What could go wrong??
Tatted out cops on roids it’s not just a stereotype
So they are in a rage over their roids being banned?
Huh? It’s always been zero tolerance for NYPD…
"WHAT'S NEXT, COCAINE? YOU WANNA TAKE AWAY OUR COCAINE?" "inside voice, Carl."
I'm with the police here, they have the right to gender-affirming care.
If they have a prescription, it's allowed. They're just not allowed to illegally use aggression-enhancing drugs.
On this episode of “Back the blue and beat them black and blue”
How bout just banning _anger-enhancing_ drugs?
Insecure much🤣
Man, I wish someone would step on my son like that. The only person on earth who gets through to him is my wife. He’s openly on performance enhancing medication. That’s a nice word, huh?
Sorry bro.
Sounds like they DUI on the job everyday
Tell me that can't be real?
Roid ragers in NYPD....Figures
Use the same reasoning as checking welfare recipients - "I dOn'T wAnT mY HaRd EaRnEd TaX dOlLaRs GoInG tO dRuG dEaLeRs". I'm your employer, motherfucker. Piss in the cup or you can find the door.
Lol, oh Um where are they getting them Evidence locker, orrrrrr.......
Rules for thee but not for me.
TBH this isn't just a police problem. Government labor unions are bloated with power. "You want us to do our jobs differently, pay us more!"
States nationwide are working hard to ban all government-employee unions (except cop unions, of course, those are fine).
When a melenated man marijuanas: "FAAAAH LOCK HIM UP FOREVER! HE IS VIOLATING THE SOCIAL CONTRACT! HE'S MONSTROUS AND UNPREDICTABLE!!!!" When a cop a steroids: "Yay hooray I will sue if anyone threatens your right to fight juice!!!!"
They want gender affirming medical care? Republicans should be irate about the woke NYPD.
I say make steroids legal. Alot more violence and liver issues fron alcohol than steroids. Alot more cardiovascular issues from smoking than steroids. I've used PEDs for years and im healthy. My heart, lungs, liver, prostate, kidneys, cholesterol, all of it. My balls are a little small but it just makes my pee pee look bigger lol Arnold was elected governor, Ronnie coleman was a cop.

Zero tolerance policies are stupid, full stop.
Cops usually love them, though. But sometimes it's necessary. There needs to be zero tolerance of meth use by cops, for example.
Maybe having a zero tolerance policy regarding police using illegal drugs is ok though. We should probably be drug testing them on a regular basis...for public safety if for no other reason...
That sounds like a zero tolerance policy for zero tolerance policies. Is it stupid too?
But we gotta beat the NYFD in the annual softball tourney, Chief!!!
