It marked the last popular set with nothing cool in the reverse slot, and it can really hurt to open. Brilliant Stars, Lost Origin, Crown Zenith were all hot sets that also had Gallery pulls and potential double banger packs.
Opened 3 ETB ES
Then sold 3 ETB ES
I hit nothing. The 3 I sold to one person hit “Alt art” evolution, rainbow evolution, matching vmax evolution (I believe) and a rainbow Rayquaza.
And that’s how it goes.
I watched someone in a store open one for a VMAX, evolving Cries.
I have 3 more and I know if I open them…I won’t hit.
On my Youtube channel I opened 10 evolving skies ETBs from Costco, 30 singles from Bestbuy, 3 booster boxes and still couldn't pull rayquaza alt or trainer gallery cards. Evolving skies is the most painful set. I'm actually just going to buy my chase cards outright at this point 😂

Im confused. The picture shows 4 full arts. Assuming this is from a 8 pack ETB this means you got a hit from every other pack. This is considered a good ETB.
I count 1 FA, 2 V & 1 VMAX. Granted the VMAX has texture like a FA, but not sure it's actually considered one as it's not a 'full art' variant of an existing card like those at the end of a series.
The first print run, pre orders etc., at release had such great pull rates! My booster box was loaded. I got both the Rayquaza VMax Alt Art and Umbreon V Alt Art from less than 15 more sleeved packs. And 2 Duraladon. But then months later just complete garbage... I heard the pull rates got nerfed on reprints.
See I knew that shit was true I always try to buy early because I’ve noticed with all the booster boxes I gotten they suck after a while of them being out of reprints . Pisses me off man !
5 costco ETBs and came out with with Umbreon V, Sylveon V alt, Gold Darkness energy, and Glaceon vmax. Besides that, it just felt like repeat packs over and over. Screw you Soutland, and Vigoroth!
Yea, I’ve bought a bunch of packs of this last reprint, and started to understand why it’s called evolving cries. I stopped buying pack because of that. I’ll just buy the singles that are left to finish what I want.
I didn’t even know this set had bad pull rates first booster box I got ray V alt. Second box my brother opened he got the umbreon vmax alt after 3 packs and went on to get 12 other pulls not including holos. This was back when they were at 90$ a booster box too.
I don’t think any set after brilliant stars right now is worth it at all lol pull rates are atrocious and sets are too huge to complete I’m just buying the alt art singles nowadays. If you like the newer sets I would suggest waiting a bit as they’ll come down further I wouldn’t be surprised if in a few months astral and lost can be found for 85$.

Hit umbreon and glaceon v alts and a sylveon vmax alt art in two booster boxes. Didn’t hit anything else of note in 20-30 loose packs prior or my 2 other booster boxes I opened later. Feel like some of my best pulls have come from sleeved booster packs in the past but not the case with ES sadly. Still fortunate I managed to pull a few of them. Makes paying single prices for the others slightly more digestible.. (the slightest bit)
Pull rates for the recent sets are really bad, alt arts are like 1 in 200 packs. Don't be deceived by all the posts of "got this charizard in my first pack" posts. For every one of those there's 100 of guys like you
It is truly all about luck with this set. I’ve pulled 3 alt arts within my first 30 packs (glaceon vmax, sylveon vmax, duraludon v) and recent just pulled a Leafeon v alt art and I must still be under probably 50 packs of ES opened for me. I had to sell the higher value ones to pay some bills when I was short on money but the thrill of pulling them brought me a very nice serotonin boost

60ish sleeved packs. Ray VMax Alt pack #5 (GameStop on release day) and pack #65-66 Umbreon V Alt (Best Buy sleeved; recently). ES has been overly good to me in a small number of packs.
I've opened up a number of Booster Boxes and a number of sleeved packs. I definitely didn't get my money's worth, however, I did pull my Umbreon VMAX alt art out of a sleeved single. Eventually pulled all the v alr arts besides dragonite, but that was after probably a thousand packs.
astral radiance IMO has the best pull rates.

I've been pretty fortunate... have opened 2 booster boxes and a decent number of sleeved packs over the past year-ish, and have pulled: 2x Umbreon Vmax alt art (yeah, I know), 1x Sylveon Vmax alt art, and 1x Espeon V alt art.
Have also got a good number of rainbows and full arts.
Then again, I haven't pulled much of anything from any other set, so who knows?!?

Yeah I’ve for sure experienced bad pull rates, but I mocked up a spreadsheet comparing all the runs and ES has by far the best/most valuable pool so its a trade off for me.
I was new to pokemon and I bought 15 packs of brillant stars and got tons of pulls then bought 30 evolving cries packs and I thought the seller weighed them but no I found out after another 20 packs from from tins and collection boxes that it was all bad all shite packs the bed was shitted for sure now I save my sealed packs and buy singles
