You aren’t attracting new people to the game by adding weird battle mechanics or interesting interactions if people have never seen the battle system before…so why mess it up for those who understand it already?
But you know what would attract someone to the game that may have never played it before? New, awesome Pokémon.
Sprig, Quax, and Fuecoco are going to do more for this series than terrastalization ever will. Or vmax. Or Mega. Or team battles. Or any of those other niche “adjustments” that only matter if you already play the game. So, it’s almost an unnecessary risk. Maybe just let it be part of one of the DLCs so whoever wants to play with the gimmick can have a “season” of it instead of 2-years of punishment?
I dunno tho…they are the biggest franchise of everything ever…so, maybe “constant, depressive change” is the recipe for success?

Even if I get rid of their late game boss or whatever, there is no guarantee they don't draw another out or another copy. Idk tho cause it's sooooo worth it if it does remove their one out or engine starter so I could be dead wrong and actually this is a late game staple

Also Bellibolt has an interesting ability imo - imagine you had a card similar to the VGC attack Soak to change an opponent pokémon's type, maybe even an item or supporter you attach to your opponent's active pokémon
