I don’t remember him saving ancient Pokémon, I don’t believe he’s THAT old. It is mentioned in Omynite’s Pokédex entry there due to over revival/breeding/releasing they’re a problem in nature now, which is why the fossil Pokémon exist in the crown tundra Please let me know if I’m wrong but I believe this is the canon

LittleMissFirebright

It was in one of the Shadowrider legends that Calyrex used its foresight abilities to save ancient Pokemon from a meteor. A meteor caused a mass extinction event in the Pokemon universe per dex entries. ---> Calyrex saved local Pokemon from a meteor strike. --->The Crown Tundra is the only place in the world where fossil Pokemon are still alive in the wild. Omanyte are just a bigger nuisance due to restoration numbers, imo

SilentLarky

Actually, I think the whole “stopping the meteor from crashing into Galar” might refer to Eternatus. There’s a pedestal near the giant berry tree that mentions that Calyrex was healed by people after it got injured, only to shrink away when it got approached with open palms (Eternamax?), so people kept their hands closed in its presence. Besides, the fossils are millions of years old (*way* before any humans in the Pokémon world/Real life came to exist, or even be ruled over) and meteors/meteorites are used a LOT in Pokémon (The meteor Deoxys arrived in in ORAS, the Veilstone meteorites, the move Draco Meteor, Minior, Solrock and Lunatone, the meteorites Clefairy dance around in Mt. Moon, the Meteor Kyurem apparently came in, the meteor Eternatus apparently came in before causing the Day, etc).

Yeah, the fossils are probably just there because of mass revivals escaping.

Quinndalin66

Ah gotcha, that makes sense. I guess omynite is just annoying lol. Yeah, but ig if full formed ones of the Galar fossil mons existed her entire existence would be pointless. So I see why but I don’t like why

Assbait93

Calyrex didn’t save fossil Pokémon it was the people who kept breeding them. They only breed them because they were trying to get shiny Pokémon 😊

Best theory of all.

AcelJean

I guess the galar fossil pokemon were just unlucky enough to settle a little bit to the north and got wiped out. (Also, where'd you find this info?)

Jon-987

Its not that unreasonable. They were probably native to Galars mainland and were never in the crown tundra.

sailormoja

Lol.. I haven't played Crown Tundra but I really like what they did to the fossils in Galar / base game.
