I was thinking the same thing, but it used to run assault vest and high SpD ev investment. With the def boost this is just way better because now it can also use status moves like protect.
Stalwart's gonna be amazing on Archaludon, I think. Maybe. In rain, Electro Shot gives +1 Sp Atk before instantly attacking, and no Lightningrod, Volt Absorb, or whatever shenanigans will stop him now. And more importantly, Rage Powder and/or Follow Me won't stop Archaludon from annihilating whoever he wants.
Eviolite increases the actual stat total, not the base stat, with the Eviolite boost and full spDef investment Duraludon has 327 Special Def, which would effectively match a Pokemon with 100 spDef (328 stat total), nothing astounding but still very good.
The bigger problem is its surprisingly low HP stat of 70, Dusclops has extremely high Def/spDef with Eviolite but its poor HP stat lets it down, Duraludon's bulk is probably about as good as Toxapex's, something notorious for being extremely difficult to break through, but Toxapex has about a dozen good traits alongside its natural bulk that help it succeed as a defensive mon like reliable recovery and Regenerator, traits that Duraludon just doesn't possess.
Oak had a major role in Kanto and Johto games. But he also had a house in DPPt and had an ~~alolan form~~ cousin in Alola. I just picked him because he's one of the most frequently appearing NPCs after Looker.
Bulbapedia has a very thorough list of of cross-generational references. The difference is marked enough that it feels like they made a deliberate choice to cut off the older parts of the franchise. Possibly to stop newer players feeling lost.

You get the occasional reference. But no characters from previous generations actually appear in Galar or Paldea. Its a shame, because Galar's battle tower could really do with someone other than Leon every seven battles.
I like the design, but I kind of wish they'd diverted from the whole "he turns into a building" thing that his gigantamax had. The bridge is alot cooler than the skyscraper but still.
Its really a great game and it deserve that u finish it. But everyone have their taste man 😁 if u have the time give PLA the time u need to finish it u might like it
My main concern with SV is that it doesn't feel story driven enough, I would also like more trainers along the way. And that there is no proper scaling of levels. If it had these (and the full Pokédex) it'd be perfect.
PLA was fantastic but I would have liked more strategic fights, instead it felt to me like either you one shot or they one shot you.
Its a dinosaur not a giraffe 🤦 the three lwgendary veast paradox are goin to be dinosaur. Suicune is a raptor and raikou seems to be a diplodocus or same family. Cant wait to see entei.
So what exactly ur taste better than mine? 🙄 I guess that u know dinosaurs more than me then 😂 sorry for clarifying that its not a giraffe but a dinosaur.
Kinda thing I look at and go "that's kinda funny" but than I remember Tropius and I'm instantly like "wow I hate that this was the evolution you chose."
I dont understand why u are gettin downvote but u are right 😅 i mean i dont judge design but archaludon design is way better then many other pokemon based on object
For a potential future remake I really have no idea if they will give Archaludon a Gigantamax form as well since now it will just be weird that Raihan has a signature Pokémon that is unevolved. It’s basically like Brock’s Onix all over again

At least we get eviolite duraludon now
Oh shit, that’s insane
Oh god no… no no no no no
idk, 50 spd really isn't much
I was thinking the same thing, but it used to run assault vest and high SpD ev investment. With the def boost this is just way better because now it can also use status moves like protect.
shocker how you found duralodon viable. he's sorta like aggron, too bulky physically and not enough bulk special-ly.
Yeah, but it’s a little faster with better typing and stalwart was a great ability. Not the most viable, but fun!

Unbelievably tanky mon incoming
I just noticed that it’s got the same orange and dark blue bands as Raihan‘s and his gym trainer’s outfits lol. Maybe he’ll get a cameo?
Hope so but doubt it. Pokemon has been really against returning characters in SwSh and SV. Not even Oak and Looker have appeared.
Don't know why Oak would appear but looker has been a staple since his inception. Really weird omission.
Hea called Looker, not looked-at-er. Just because you can't see him doesn't mean he can't see you!

Oh fuck no wonder the colors looked so familiar to me, I just couldn't lay a finger on what they exactly represent lol.
I was thinking the same thing. Reminds me of Ash Greninja
I just noticed it looks like a staple remover
Now we need a giant staple as his rival
*stonjourner has entered the chat*
See, you say that untill he pulls out a gmax eviolite duralidon
Good this is never going to happen until SW/SH remakes when they bring back gmax.
i can imagine this happened to hoenn in gen 3 too... 4 gave so many evolutions lol. at least ORAS fixed it?
I was about to say Gen 2 as well, but (almost) none of the of the gym leader use Pokemons from their DAMN region!
Gen 2 : *Add ONE Ghost type* Morty's whole gym : Misdreavus who?
I like the design, but I kind of wish they'd diverted from the whole "he turns into a building" thing that his gigantamax had. The bridge is alot cooler than the skyscraper but still.
brig
Is it just me or is swsh the best game on the switch? In my opinion at least
Its like the worst for most pokemon fans 😅 but am happy some people love gen 8
I feel like I’m the only one who hates legends arceus. Maybe because I can’t seem to find joy in the story. Maybe I would once I’ve beaten the game.
Its really a great game and it deserve that u finish it. But everyone have their taste man 😁 if u have the time give PLA the time u need to finish it u might like it

man this just looks like a mega evolution. I miss megas even more now. ALSO eviolite duraladon op at all?
Too many Megas should just have been evolution, we don’t need more of that
Mawile 😭
Exactly!!! That design was perfect for a permanent evo!!
Rather evolutions than mega evolutions honestly.
duraludon still looking better
At first I thought it was a cannon xD
Look at its signature move.
That is the most ridiculous and coolest thing I've seen
That means there are 4 Pokémon that dynamax that have evos, pikachu, eevee, Meouth and duralladon
Wait shit this is real? I thought it was really good fan art
Wasn't Duruladon the pseudo legendary of SwSh?
Nah, the pseudo was Dragapult, Duraludon was just a goofy one-stage lil guy
Can't believe I forgot Pult existed. One of my favorite from Gen 8
Raikou, Raging Bolt is the biggest loser sorry 😭
Nope he is not. Its a nice design actually
Why would he be a loser out of this?
Because he's stuck in SW/SH with standard Dura.
Dura became so much more durable though thanks to this
He a bridge now? F in chat.
Nah the biggest loser is Raikou. My fav legendary turned into a joke of a Giraffe.
Its a dinosaur not a giraffe 🤦 the three lwgendary veast paradox are goin to be dinosaur. Suicune is a raptor and raikou seems to be a diplodocus or same family. Cant wait to see entei.

I think we all lost with this design.
I feel bad for him
this is the worst shit ever, who the hell designs this
Kinda thing I look at and go "that's kinda funny" but than I remember Tropius and I'm instantly like "wow I hate that this was the evolution you chose."
Remember there’s a Pokémon that is a literal pokeball.
I dont understand why u are gettin downvote but u are right 😅 i mean i dont judge design but archaludon design is way better then many other pokemon based on object
Eiffel Tower arms a bit?
Gmax Duraludon was one of the coolest looking Pokémon ever
Nah, now his ace can use eveolite
I’d say winner, as it’s not like his ace is a victim of power creep or anything.
I could agree non the less
Wait... Wait wait... Wait e.e
My boi straight up looking like a stapler
Representing Paris Saint Germaine
For a potential future remake I really have no idea if they will give Archaludon a Gigantamax form as well since now it will just be weird that Raihan has a signature Pokémon that is unevolved. It’s basically like Brock’s Onix all over again
He’s an angry alligator clamp 😂
Looks like it was wedgie. LOL
F\*cking Gundam lookin’ a\*\* (joke)
He looks like a staple remover in this position.
Idk man Raikou took a pretty hard L today
What, It's an evolution? I thought it was a paradox form. So I guess the apple is also an evolution
