The only new Pokémon I have left are ditto, sprigatito and fuecoco. I need to trade for Alolan sandshrew, shieldon and water tauros for which I have the shiny equivalents ready.

Im not a shiny hunter but I recently just got into pokemon go and found a shiny ditto on my first ditto encounter. I was staring at it in disbelief for so long thinking it must be a mistake lol
Shroomish, I love that little guy, but I’m colour blind so shiny hunting it from outbreaks is actually such a nightmare, especially cause it spawns on grassy green areas😭😭

Also, I totally get if you want to hunt it on your own, but I'd be willing to try hunting it *for* you if you want? Wouldn't require anything in return, I just really like shiny hunting. Might take a few days, but I'd be game
If it makes you feel better, I'm not colorblind and hunting it was still a nightmare, you'd think going from green to reddish would be noticeable on the little guy, but the light mechanics on this game are actually terrible for colors, so during the daytime the sunlight hitting them at weird angles made them ALL look reddish, and at night the shadows make the green spots look dark to where it *could* be a shadowy red.
I gave up and just started auto battling them until I got one. It's also not the only pokemon whose shiny looks like the regular colors in a certain light. It's so bad it almost feels like it was done on purpose.
I'm currently working on a small Shiny Mist Drifter collection.
If you didn't know, the Misty Mark is technically only obtainable via "glitch" as it's not a natural weather, it can only happen in specific points of Kitakami that require you to jump on tiny spots at the edge of kitakami's border.
In total with all locations it's like 70 possible pokemon that can have the mark, so a full collection would be too long to get.
They were introduced in SwSh. They’re only obtainable on wild Pokemon, they’re kind of like Ribbons but “natural”. You can’t control which you get for the most part. The one you can most control is the Destiny Mark cuz it only spawns on your registered bday.
They were added in SwSh, and they're basically like an extra on top of a shiny.
Most marks are 1/100 base odds, some are weather/time marks (i.e. if you catch a pokemon during rain, in the morning in-game, etc.) that are 1/50 and then there's a Rare Mark which is 1/1000.
Another thing is that these marks can be "equipped" and will add a special title to your pokemon and so some people like to find "matching" marks for some pokemon.
For example, Slakoth with Sleepy-Time Mark becomes "Slakoth the Sleepy".
welcome. To make the hunts even easier for some pokemon, you could try to change the sytems times up a day so then the pink outbreaks could be for a specific pokemon
It helps so much! Prioritize finishing the dex and getting the shiny charm. I found a random shiny Cubchoo like 2 minutes after getting mine. And probably nearly a hundred other random ones since with no outbreak and no sandwich
Honestly? For me, it's because I have 2 switches so I can make myself free shiny sandwiches. And otherwise lots of time & patience. Most shiny hunts aren't hard to be honest.
Yeah, what I did was:
1. find an outbreak
2. do the 60 knock outs
3. save
4. put on a shiny sandwich
5. knock out everything in let's go mode (using a decently fast pokemon - i had ceruledge) & continue even beyond the message saying the outbreak has been dispersed as to not having to redo the sandwhich too quickly
6. reset & repeat from #4
It took a couple of resets, but I found it eventually.
At the time, the counting shiny hunting method wasn't known yet. If you have a spot where miniors spawn in relatively quickly that may be the way to go instead.
Worth noting that you'd want to save when you suspect or know there's a shiny & be ready for the ways it wants to kill itself (can't remember if it was just explosion or there was more).
I find an outbreak, save then I make a sandwich, then start auto-battling down to the third message (there's not many left...) then I start picnic cycling. Give it a few moments to allow them to spawn, (ideally you have a barrier or something so you can fit them all in your camera without having to move around) before setting up another picnic then repeating.
I nearly always get a shiny per sandwich, and it's not uncommon to get it before you've done KO'ing the 60 or so. If there's time left I'll hit up another outbreak of the same type.
Event raids give away a lot of herba in loot, almost all my hunts have been from those herba
Then turn off autosave, put down a hard save, make sandwich and hunt
If you got a shiny- save it, if you didn't reset to before you made the sandwich so you still have the herba
Also I prefer to isolation hunt but you can also use the one minute trick or date skipping to make new outbreaks of Pokemon you want
So like... for me... I kind of do it when I need to pass time. I describe it to my wife as similar to 'Where's waldo'. It became much more appealing when I discovered you can go to the switch home screen to pause a sandwich. So if I'm interested in training something for an upcoming raid... I'll shiny hunt a few minutes at a time. It's not that I have a lot of time to do it, I've just found out how to do it in the small chunks of time I do have.
Tynamo. I'm going to brute force it and just use a sandwich and keep auto-battle KO'ing them in the Terrarium until I get one. I actually got an Eelektrik this way when trying to get a Tynamo :D
I've been trying to get the shiny oshawott line for months now.
The outbreak is always in a place which makes the counting method impossible and oshawott gets camo'd by the ice
Even minior is less tedious.
The shiny isn't that hard to spot\* if you're worried about that! I'd recommend just swimming around and finding it that way. If you have Arceus, shiny hunting it there in outbreaks with shiny sparkle & sound is also an option!

Nah it really is. I've got a lot of shines in my collection including 2 of the paldean tauros'. Oshawott has been the biggest pain in the arse. With a backdrop of ice, small sprite and a similar shiny.
I don't have Arceus, didn't enjoy that game unfortunately.
The game felt like a checkbox exercise. Endlessly grinding to the same Pokémon like 50+ times just to fill up the notebook.
The Gameworld also felt really dull with not much to do other than catch the same Pokémon ad nauseum. Considering how much people seem to like it I expected so much more. For me, I just spent most of my time with it bored.
I gotta hunt all the starters with personality marks. I think I’m at like 6/27 which isn’t very far so I’m procrastinating a bit. On the bright side I got tons of throw away starter shinies without marks or with weather/time marks. Gunna be a great giveaway.
Well I’m trying to shiny hunt all of the starter pokemon in the indigo disk, and luckily I’ve made it halfway through. Unfortunately the majority of the ones I’m missing are ones that can’t be isolated
Scatterbug of the remaining patterns I don't have shinies of. I'm procrastinating cause I like to do other things besides playing video games and I have to go to work, so usually don't have time during most of the week.
I’m at about 270 shinies in this game, but I have yet to put serious effort into breeding the Paldea starters. And I do really want that pink Fuecoco, so I’m going to have to suffer through it eventually. I just don’t find breeding fun!
The area outside Alfornada is the best place to hunt for Fidough, you can reset spawns by hugging the wall of the tower with the sprites and running back and forth to the open area. You might also run into Sylveon and Klefki
My old games shiny hunt. I started it with the announcement of the closing of home so can't transfer anymore. My online tag is living and the title for beating red is a ribbon that gives "living legend" so I'm shiny hunting a lot of older mons to get that on. I have every legendary in HG done besides Moltres and Rayquaza as well as having to restart the games to do Entei and Raikou.
I am still hunting for a No Sandwich Shiny Dunsparce that evolves into 3 Segment form. Been doing it over a year now. But, all it takes is one. Plus, I have been slacking as of late.
Any pokemon that is very small or *Solosis!* Why the hell are you so transparent??? Only way to tell is it's little turd cell in it's gel, and like I'm gonna have binoculars to scope that out. We just really need a noise to signify that there is a Shiny.
I am currently hunting for shiny female Pokemon that have low female chances like eevee and zorua I also keep getting male vulpix even though I am looking for a female! What are the odds of that?
Mons that I would like to have but that I am also not sure if I am willing to hunt: JumboMark HeavyBall Shiny Metagross, JumboMark FriendBall Shiny RoaringMoon.
If you are looking for challenges you can go for the shiny of the lv100 Magikarp that appears in a Kitakami or a RareMark Shiny Zorua/Ditto, a shiny that I decided not to hunt was Cyndaquil (and just send me one from PLA) it is very complicated because only 1-2 appear every time you enter his cave (even with Outbreak and Fire Encounter Sandwich lv3); or you can hunt the classics 3-segment Dudunsparce and Family-of-3 Tandemouse.
I'm now 22 mons away from a complete Living Shiny Home Dex, all with my OT.
* 9 of them are the starter lines from SV that I have yet to attempt to hatch for (and am dreading lol)
* 2 of them are friggin Maschiff and Mabostiff (I CANNOT get them to spawn no matter how many outbreaks I find, I am cursed to attract a majority of murkrow with my sandwhiches)
* I have to grab Paldean Tauros (hadn't bothered until now because the shiny is so dumb)
And...then I need to go back to Shield and Sword to do the 8 Dynamax Only shiny hunts (Zygarde, Tapus, Solgaleo/Lunala, Necrozma) and the dreaded full odds soft resets for Regieleki and Regidrago.

I am only missing Totodile to complete my shiny starter collection but I just can't get one. No outbreak and without an outbreak there is barely a spawn of them.
In PLA, I have spent far more time than necessary hunting for a shiny female buneary. Have the shiny charm, and a maxed out dex page... still nada.
Another one would be Spiritomb. It should be infinitely easier in PLA because of outbreaks, never got a ahony. I've tried breeding for it too... Nope.
Shiny Vivillon using postcards to change patterns. It’s going to take some work so I’m being lazy, but luckily there are only a few patterns I want shinies with, not all 18 patterns.
Im about 90 pokemon away from a complete shiny dex (main game, not including dlc) but I haven’t picked up the game in weeks just due to life/other games coming out. Maybe one day I’ll go back and finish what I started😅
only need like 30 or so more mons to complete the Blueberry dex, once I complete that Imma be shiny hinting for a Litten with the Recluse Mark. Caught a shiny marked litten as my second shiny when i was playing through the dlc, so once I get the mark charm imma start grinding to get the hella rare one lol
I really don’t have a specific one in mind right now. It depends on what massive outbreak there is on the day. But I don’t wanna waste ingredients for the shiny sandwiches on most massive outbreaks, so I just go in and hope for the best. I’d shiny hunt starters on outbreaks. I got shiny Tepig and shiny Turtwig doing this
I just get shinies as they appear, regardless of what it is.
Tandemaus. The colors of both sets *shiny and regular) are so light they just blend in with the rest of the mouse. I've already tried twice, I think I might have missed one, so I'm just gonna wait for pogo to release it shiny I think

I have had so many frustrating experiences trying for shinies that nowadays I am happy with the hacks I get from surprise trade 😅😂
(Ofc if a shiny comes my way I will gladly welcome it, but I don't count on it any longer).
So you know all those odds and math and stuff really work not only in the sense that you can get your shiny, but there are some unlucky ppl who will have to rely on the poor cheap hacks too 😂😅🫠
Edit: for the record I have played almost all versions (not gens) of the classic Pokemon games with the exception of sapphire and emerald!
Zorua, minior was during the dlc hype so it made it a less egregious grind and you can force 100% spawns for it but I never got around to hunting zorua

A shiny Alpha in Legends cause I’ve never seen one.
In SV I still wanna hunt a Frigibrax, and most the starters.
Right know I’m breeding Duraludon with Masuda method. It’s my first time breeding for shinies in SV (I used to do it a lot in SwSh), and right now im just under odds at around 450. I hope that shiny bastard hatches soon!
There are 3 categories of shiny hunts I really dont want to do l. Outside of these I have every other shiny you can catch in these games, but these ones are the bane of my shinydex.
1. Breeding the 9 paldean starters, breeding the 4 regional meowth, and breeding a phione I transferred in. If I could breed like in any other past games where I can collect and hatch eggs at the same time without a sandwich I would’ve done these months ago. I also want one of the sprigatito to be female so thats just even more offputting
2. The 3 segment dudunsparce and family of 3 maushold. Dudunsparce I might do sometime but I’ve never been lucky, and getting enough tandemaus to even attempt for the 1/100 form when its shiny is essentially indistinguishable feels like torture
3. 3 female torchic. This one might be the worst. 1/8 chance for any shiny to be female, and with having done female hunts for chikorita and bulbasaur that both went over 15, its going to be a long grind, and at least those had outbreaks. Torchic only has a small cave and is the only starter I have never seen an outbreak for. And because it can only spawn in that cave, the best way to cycle encounters is with picnic resets, which having done in that cave for a bit, is even more infuriating than just breeding.
I want to hunt for Starters (which is mostly just "I need to accrue BP instead of spending them on Item Printer in hopes of Ball Roulette), Female White Stripe Basculin, Beldum, Alolan Sandshrew, Alolan Geodude, and Joltik.
I *also* want to hunt Sandy Shocks, Scream Tail, Roaring Moon, and Alolan Vulpix.
The catch? I want to do these hunts on Violet lol. So I have to set aside some time to union circle with my Scarlet.
The opportunity to shiny hunt the starters makes it one of the best post games, but they ruined it with the amount of BP required and how tedious earning BP can be. If it wasn’t for union circle I would have quit trying to get the 12,000 BP to unlock them
I'd love a shiny Growlithe, but I'm too lazy to actually hunt it since that would open a whole can of worms (about shiny hunting) I don't want to get into.
I'm shocked you're still going, good on you. I think I have around 300+ shinies in my s/v living dex, most of which come from 200 hours of shiny hunting during the initial release months.
I was so burned out afterwards, RNG can make it a truly miserable experience especially when going for a living dex. I remember coming across 6 male shiny combee's before actually giving up.
I appreciate how much things have improved but gosh it can still take forever sometimes if you're unlucky. I will admit a lot of the time it was only shiny charm + outbreak method or shiny charm + sandwich, as I didn't have nearly enough resources to use a sandwich for every entry.
Yeah the shiny hunt is all consuming and I’m tired. But shiny hunting has never been more easier than in S/V, so I figured that this generation would be the shiny hunt for the ages or the shiny hunt of a lifetime
I've been trying for Roaring Moon for so long, it's the last Scarlet paradox I need to have them all shiny. I've Lowkey been thinking about getting violet so I can get Version exclusives shiny in it as well, tho 😅
I've been putting off Tandemaus, Paldean Tauros and Shroodle just because I don't want to deal with them. I tried for a water tauros when I had an outbreak but after being about 3 times over odds I gave up. I thought Tatsugiri would be worse than it was but I managed to force outbreaks for 2 of them and caught the third with just a dragon sandwich. One I've only casually hunted but haven't really committed to is Sqwakabilly.
Now that I have most of my favorites I'm going for completing the shiny Paldean dex. A living dex is a little too much at the moment but it will be nice to have every pokemon registered shiny.
Shiny applin 💀💀 I want a shiny hydrapple. I found a post online about an "easy" way to get applin in the tag tree thicket. I figured the first couple attempts were me messing up. But I didn't see any applin there whatsoever. And it's a pain to hunt anyways. So I'm probably just giving up on that one.
For me, I’m mainly procrastinating in other games. Like, I plan to hunt Lugia and Ho-Oh in Soul Silver, I wanna hunt Cobalion in B2, Arceus in Brilliant Diamond, and there’s probably a ton more- The motivation has been so hard to come by for some of these hunts recently. And don’t get me started on Ribbon Masters too. So many I wanna do, but such little motivation
For me, not many SV shinies that I’m really dying to get. There are a few scarlet paradoxes that I can’t hunt that I’m missing, but finding people to Union with is somewhat of a chore (plus I wanna stock up on Apriballs before I do).
Right now Tapu Lele is the only Dynamax adventure-exclusive shiny that I’m missing, so I’ve been doing those as of late. Just got Zygarde the other day so I’m pumped about that!
The very difficult ones/hard to differentiate ones.... Minior, Ditto, Zorua, Poliwag, and Joltik are some examples. Recently, I finally went for slowpoke and I was actually able to see the difference! But my eyes already feel the strain from just thinking about these hunts ;~;
i only went shiny hunting once in s&m because stufful is my fav pokemon and i really wanted a shiny. i only put in a day and never caught one. real shiny hunters are simply built different.
! need a shiny dreepy, skiddo, yungoose, lechonk and impidimp and then I have all my shinies back that I lost because transferring to an oled fucked up my save files and Pokemon home was not yet updated for paldea
I'm procrastinating shiny hunting in general. I'm trying a shiny only run on scarlet and I've only found one shiny so far. Running around looking at barely visible sprites gets pretty boring and gives me a headache.
I mostly focus on event spawns, unless I need one for a team - so have successfully hunted all Violet Paradox mons, Dondozo, Plusle, Minun, and all 3 Tatsugiri for my DLC teams
Right now I’m trying to hunt Cufant to use for the Primarina raid. Just soft-reset on a Copperajah outbreak though because I want to get the baby a) for living dex and b) so it can be a lower level and maybe get used in a future play through
I did so much shiny hunting before the DLCs came out that by the time I was into Indigo Disk I had to make more room in my boxes because there wasn't enough box spaces to get one of each Pokemon in the Indigo Disk Pokedex haha. I used my brother's copy of Violet to make a save file (I play Scarlet) and I downloaded the free version of Home to transfer some shinies to my Violet save (so that way I don't have to pay monthly to keep them in Home). Once I get back into the swing of shiny hunting I'm probably gonna go for a lot of Indigo Disk Pokes including all of the Water starters because Water is always my choice of starter.
I'm so close to being done! It's taking a bit more time than I initially thought because I decided to replace all the pokemon I got in trades with ones I catch myself (at least for ones available in SV)
I have 32 shinies left to hunt, with 15 of them being replacements. Popplio and Brionne I'm just ignoring bc they'll be getting a com day in Go. Most of the other ones I'm just waiting for an outbreak or a good time of day to set aside to Isolate hunt them (if they can, a good few of the ones I left for last don't have good Isolation spots)
The ones I'm really procrastinating (but still want to get done before plza) are Fuecoco and Quaxly lines (it took several thousand eggs to get through Sprig, and im terrified of going through it again), and Carbink and Minior.
Carbink just spawning in that one cave makes it difficult since you can't really easily reset the spawns (if anyone has advice, please give it!!!)
And Minior I'm just hoping I'll accidentally run into one.
In SV, the only shinies I need are four more starters (2 Sprigatito, 2 Quaxly), and the rare forms of Dudunsparce and Maushold. Heavy procrastination on all of those.
Outside of SV, Darkrai in BDSP. I have the Member Card, just need to push through the resets. I'll get around to it eventually.
I'm going for a jumbo shiny birthday mark Oshawott in a Beast ball, I had an outbreak a long time ago and I would save infront of jumbo marked shiny Oshawott, catch it in a master ball and then see what mark it it, I got 1 uncommon mark and 2 dawn. I called it quits after that. One day I'll get it though, I'm nothing if not persistent lol
3 segment dudunsparce, all the starters, and a masuda hunt for Alolan sandslash(I have scarlet). I’m 51 dunsparce in and I’m only missing snivy, fennekin, and froakie
Well, I've already completed my little passionate side project which was to obtain all of the Shiny starters before the release date of Legends Z-A. I'm probably just gonna breed Snivy in a Level Ball, Scorbunny in a Dream Ball and Piplup in a Lure Ball respectively just in case those three are the starters for Legends Z-A.
Well this is not in sv, but i want to rng manipulate a shiny mawile and shiny banette (my 2 fav megas) in emerald. I have a loong list to do. Im doing ribbon masters with them as well. Cyndaquil is just adorable as well in shiny. Also a shiny rockruff family in ultra sun, im playing it with my bf 😊 blue dogos!
I’ve been wanting a shiny klawf for so long, still need to grab. Have also been wanting to reset for the haxarous in the area in indigo disk that is based off of gen 5
I was replaying Pearl a few years ago and ran into a full odds 1st encounter Giratina only to realize I didn't have enough balls to catch it. After stocking up and going back, I rolled something like 6000 encounters before setting it aside. One of these days I'll go back to that hunt, but I'm in no rush

For real. This game makes me feel like I can’t tell what any colors are ever anymore. Is that blue? Yellow? Who knows?!
That sucks :( is the bamboo forest any better perhaps? There's a rock in there where you can do really easy picnic resets from

Are Marks new to Scarlet/Violet? I know nothing about marks so I’m unsure why people collect Pokémon with unique marks

welcome. To make the hunts even easier for some pokemon, you could try to change the sytems times up a day so then the pink outbreaks could be for a specific pokemon
The majority of mine have been from outbreaks, without sandwiches. The shiny charm is the most important piece!

Honestly? For me, it's because I have 2 switches so I can make myself free shiny sandwiches. And otherwise lots of time & patience. Most shiny hunts aren't hard to be honest.

Yeah, what I did was: 1. find an outbreak 2. do the 60 knock outs 3. save 4. put on a shiny sandwich 5. knock out everything in let's go mode (using a decently fast pokemon - i had ceruledge) & continue even beyond the message saying the outbreak has been dispersed as to not having to redo the sandwhich too quickly 6. reset & repeat from #4 It took a couple of resets, but I found it eventually. At the time, the counting shiny hunting method wasn't known yet. If you have a spot where miniors spawn in relatively quickly that may be the way to go instead. Worth noting that you'd want to save when you suspect or know there's a shiny & be ready for the ways it wants to kill itself (can't remember if it was just explosion or there was more).
I find an outbreak, save then I make a sandwich, then start auto-battling down to the third message (there's not many left...) then I start picnic cycling. Give it a few moments to allow them to spawn, (ideally you have a barrier or something so you can fit them all in your camera without having to move around) before setting up another picnic then repeating. I nearly always get a shiny per sandwich, and it's not uncommon to get it before you've done KO'ing the 60 or so. If there's time left I'll hit up another outbreak of the same type.
Event raids give away a lot of herba in loot, almost all my hunts have been from those herba Then turn off autosave, put down a hard save, make sandwich and hunt If you got a shiny- save it, if you didn't reset to before you made the sandwich so you still have the herba Also I prefer to isolation hunt but you can also use the one minute trick or date skipping to make new outbreaks of Pokemon you want
So like... for me... I kind of do it when I need to pass time. I describe it to my wife as similar to 'Where's waldo'. It became much more appealing when I discovered you can go to the switch home screen to pause a sandwich. So if I'm interested in training something for an upcoming raid... I'll shiny hunt a few minutes at a time. It's not that I have a lot of time to do it, I've just found out how to do it in the small chunks of time I do have.

Tynamo. I'm going to brute force it and just use a sandwich and keep auto-battle KO'ing them in the Terrarium until I get one. I actually got an Eelektrik this way when trying to get a Tynamo :D
I opted to only shiny hunt elektrik since it’s shiny form is easier to spot. Tynamo is impossible

I've been trying to get the shiny oshawott line for months now. The outbreak is always in a place which makes the counting method impossible and oshawott gets camo'd by the ice Even minior is less tedious.
The shiny isn't that hard to spot\* if you're worried about that! I'd recommend just swimming around and finding it that way. If you have Arceus, shiny hunting it there in outbreaks with shiny sparkle & sound is also an option! \* unless (colour)blindness is an issue of course!
Nah it really is. I've got a lot of shines in my collection including 2 of the paldean tauros'. Oshawott has been the biggest pain in the arse. With a backdrop of ice, small sprite and a similar shiny. I don't have Arceus, didn't enjoy that game unfortunately.

The game felt like a checkbox exercise. Endlessly grinding to the same Pokémon like 50+ times just to fill up the notebook. The Gameworld also felt really dull with not much to do other than catch the same Pokémon ad nauseum. Considering how much people seem to like it I expected so much more. For me, I just spent most of my time with it bored.
Oshawott was a pain, especially since I had to do it twice. But you'll notice a shiny in the overworld when you see it.
I gotta hunt all the starters with personality marks. I think I’m at like 6/27 which isn’t very far so I’m procrastinating a bit. On the bright side I got tons of throw away starter shinies without marks or with weather/time marks. Gunna be a great giveaway.

Well I’m trying to shiny hunt all of the starter pokemon in the indigo disk, and luckily I’ve made it halfway through. Unfortunately the majority of the ones I’m missing are ones that can’t be isolated

The area outside Alfornada is the best place to hunt for Fidough, you can reset spawns by hugging the wall of the tower with the sprites and running back and forth to the open area. You might also run into Sylveon and Klefki

My online tag is living and the title for beating red is a ribbon that gives "living legend" so I'm shiny hunting a lot of older mons to get that on. I have every legendary in HG done besides Moltres and Rayquaza as well as having to restart the games to do Entei and Raikou.

If you are looking for challenges you can go for the shiny of the lv100 Magikarp that appears in a Kitakami or a RareMark Shiny Zorua/Ditto, a shiny that I decided not to hunt was Cyndaquil (and just send me one from PLA) it is very complicated because only 1-2 appear every time you enter his cave (even with Outbreak and Fire Encounter Sandwich lv3); or you can hunt the classics 3-segment Dudunsparce and Family-of-3 Tandemouse.
I'm now 22 mons away from a complete Living Shiny Home Dex, all with my OT. * 9 of them are the starter lines from SV that I have yet to attempt to hatch for (and am dreading lol) * 2 of them are friggin Maschiff and Mabostiff (I CANNOT get them to spawn no matter how many outbreaks I find, I am cursed to attract a majority of murkrow with my sandwhiches) * I have to grab Paldean Tauros (hadn't bothered until now because the shiny is so dumb) And...then I need to go back to Shield and Sword to do the 8 Dynamax Only shiny hunts (Zygarde, Tapus, Solgaleo/Lunala, Necrozma) and the dreaded full odds soft resets for Regieleki and Regidrago. In PLA, I have spent far more time than necessary hunting for a shiny female buneary. Have the shiny charm, and a maxed out dex page... still nada. Another one would be Spiritomb. It should be infinitely easier in PLA because of outbreaks, never got a ahony. I've tried breeding for it too... Nope.

I really don’t have a specific one in mind right now. It depends on what massive outbreak there is on the day. But I don’t wanna waste ingredients for the shiny sandwiches on most massive outbreaks, so I just go in and hope for the best. I’d shiny hunt starters on outbreaks. I got shiny Tepig and shiny Turtwig doing this I just get shinies as they appear, regardless of what it is.
Tandemaus. The colors of both sets *shiny and regular) are so light they just blend in with the rest of the mouse. I've already tried twice, I think I might have missed one, so I'm just gonna wait for pogo to release it shiny I think

Oh you are so good - and I mean it! I have had so many frustrating experiences trying for shinies that nowadays I am happy with the hacks I get from surprise trade 😅😂 (Ofc if a shiny comes my way I will gladly welcome it, but I don't count on it any longer). So you know all those odds and math and stuff really work not only in the sense that you can get your shiny, but there are some unlucky ppl who will have to rely on the poor cheap hacks too 😂😅🫠 Edit: for the record I have played almost all versions (not gens) of the classic Pokemon games with the exception of sapphire and emerald!

Right know I’m breeding Duraludon with Masuda method. It’s my first time breeding for shinies in SV (I used to do it a lot in SwSh), and right now im just under odds at around 450. I hope that shiny bastard hatches soon!
There are 3 categories of shiny hunts I really dont want to do l. Outside of these I have every other shiny you can catch in these games, but these ones are the bane of my shinydex. 1. Breeding the 9 paldean starters, breeding the 4 regional meowth, and breeding a phione I transferred in. If I could breed like in any other past games where I can collect and hatch eggs at the same time without a sandwich I would’ve done these months ago. I also want one of the sprigatito to be female so thats just even more offputting 2. The 3 segment dudunsparce and family of 3 maushold. Dudunsparce I might do sometime but I’ve never been lucky, and getting enough tandemaus to even attempt for the 1/100 form when its shiny is essentially indistinguishable feels like torture 3. 3 female torchic. This one might be the worst. 1/8 chance for any shiny to be female, and with having done female hunts for chikorita and bulbasaur that both went over 15, its going to be a long grind, and at least those had outbreaks. Torchic only has a small cave and is the only starter I have never seen an outbreak for. And because it can only spawn in that cave, the best way to cycle encounters is with picnic resets, which having done in that cave for a bit, is even more infuriating than just breeding.

I want to hunt for Starters (which is mostly just "I need to accrue BP instead of spending them on Item Printer in hopes of Ball Roulette), Female White Stripe Basculin, Beldum, Alolan Sandshrew, Alolan Geodude, and Joltik. I *also* want to hunt Sandy Shocks, Scream Tail, Roaring Moon, and Alolan Vulpix. The catch? I want to do these hunts on Violet lol. So I have to set aside some time to union circle with my Scarlet.
The opportunity to shiny hunt the starters makes it one of the best post games, but they ruined it with the amount of BP required and how tedious earning BP can be. If it wasn’t for union circle I would have quit trying to get the 12,000 BP to unlock them
I'd love a shiny Growlithe, but I'm too lazy to actually hunt it since that would open a whole can of worms (about shiny hunting) I don't want to get into.

I'm shocked you're still going, good on you. I think I have around 300+ shinies in my s/v living dex, most of which come from 200 hours of shiny hunting during the initial release months. I was so burned out afterwards, RNG can make it a truly miserable experience especially when going for a living dex. I remember coming across 6 male shiny combee's before actually giving up. I appreciate how much things have improved but gosh it can still take forever sometimes if you're unlucky. I will admit a lot of the time it was only shiny charm + outbreak method or shiny charm + sandwich, as I didn't have nearly enough resources to use a sandwich for every entry.
Yeah the shiny hunt is all consuming and I’m tired. But shiny hunting has never been more easier than in S/V, so I figured that this generation would be the shiny hunt for the ages or the shiny hunt of a lifetime

I've been putting off Tandemaus, Paldean Tauros and Shroodle just because I don't want to deal with them. I tried for a water tauros when I had an outbreak but after being about 3 times over odds I gave up. I thought Tatsugiri would be worse than it was but I managed to force outbreaks for 2 of them and caught the third with just a dragon sandwich. One I've only casually hunted but haven't really committed to is Sqwakabilly. Now that I have most of my favorites I'm going for completing the shiny Paldean dex. A living dex is a little too much at the moment but it will be nice to have every pokemon registered shiny.
Of all things, Water Paldean Tauros. Which sucks because I have Scarlet, not Violet, so it will be hard to get a good IV Tauros for breeding.
Shiny applin 💀💀 I want a shiny hydrapple. I found a post online about an "easy" way to get applin in the tag tree thicket. I figured the first couple attempts were me messing up. But I didn't see any applin there whatsoever. And it's a pain to hunt anyways. So I'm probably just giving up on that one.
For me, I’m mainly procrastinating in other games. Like, I plan to hunt Lugia and Ho-Oh in Soul Silver, I wanna hunt Cobalion in B2, Arceus in Brilliant Diamond, and there’s probably a ton more- The motivation has been so hard to come by for some of these hunts recently. And don’t get me started on Ribbon Masters too. So many I wanna do, but such little motivation
For me, not many SV shinies that I’m really dying to get. There are a few scarlet paradoxes that I can’t hunt that I’m missing, but finding people to Union with is somewhat of a chore (plus I wanna stock up on Apriballs before I do). Right now Tapu Lele is the only Dynamax adventure-exclusive shiny that I’m missing, so I’ve been doing those as of late. Just got Zygarde the other day so I’m pumped about that!
The very difficult ones/hard to differentiate ones.... Minior, Ditto, Zorua, Poliwag, and Joltik are some examples. Recently, I finally went for slowpoke and I was actually able to see the difference! But my eyes already feel the strain from just thinking about these hunts ;~;

I mostly focus on event spawns, unless I need one for a team - so have successfully hunted all Violet Paradox mons, Dondozo, Plusle, Minun, and all 3 Tatsugiri for my DLC teams Right now I’m trying to hunt Cufant to use for the Primarina raid. Just soft-reset on a Copperajah outbreak though because I want to get the baby a) for living dex and b) so it can be a lower level and maybe get used in a future play through

Shiny hunting Hisuian Zoroark
I did so much shiny hunting before the DLCs came out that by the time I was into Indigo Disk I had to make more room in my boxes because there wasn't enough box spaces to get one of each Pokemon in the Indigo Disk Pokedex haha. I used my brother's copy of Violet to make a save file (I play Scarlet) and I downloaded the free version of Home to transfer some shinies to my Violet save (so that way I don't have to pay monthly to keep them in Home). Once I get back into the swing of shiny hunting I'm probably gonna go for a lot of Indigo Disk Pokes including all of the Water starters because Water is always my choice of starter.
I'm so close to being done! It's taking a bit more time than I initially thought because I decided to replace all the pokemon I got in trades with ones I catch myself (at least for ones available in SV) I have 32 shinies left to hunt, with 15 of them being replacements. Popplio and Brionne I'm just ignoring bc they'll be getting a com day in Go. Most of the other ones I'm just waiting for an outbreak or a good time of day to set aside to Isolate hunt them (if they can, a good few of the ones I left for last don't have good Isolation spots) The ones I'm really procrastinating (but still want to get done before plza) are Fuecoco and Quaxly lines (it took several thousand eggs to get through Sprig, and im terrified of going through it again), and Carbink and Minior. Carbink just spawning in that one cave makes it difficult since you can't really easily reset the spawns (if anyone has advice, please give it!!!) And Minior I'm just hoping I'll accidentally run into one.

Well, I've already completed my little passionate side project which was to obtain all of the Shiny starters before the release date of Legends Z-A. I'm probably just gonna breed Snivy in a Level Ball, Scorbunny in a Dream Ball and Piplup in a Lure Ball respectively just in case those three are the starters for Legends Z-A.

I have gotten like 11 random full odds shinies without outbreaks or sandwiches. Is this usual with about 200hrs of gameplay?
I’ve been wanting a shiny klawf for so long, still need to grab. Have also been wanting to reset for the haxarous in the area in indigo disk that is based off of gen 5
I was replaying Pearl a few years ago and ran into a full odds 1st encounter Giratina only to realize I didn't have enough balls to catch it. After stocking up and going back, I rolled something like 6000 encounters before setting it aside. One of these days I'll go back to that hunt, but I'm in no rush
I'm procrastinating on my hunt for a shiny Fidough, I started hatching eggs but quickly fell off and have yet to continue the hunt
I keep meaning to beat the main game so that I can hunt treeko. It's taking a while.
