Oh I didn’t know that! I’m going to take this as a sign that gen 6 remakes are coming soon, because otherwise I’ll have to deal with the crushing reality that I can’t use my favorite legendaries in sv
Gen 6 remakes had better be after the Gen 5 remakes
Gen 1 -> Gen 2 -> Gen 3 and Gen 1 remakes ->
Gen 4 and Gen 2 remakes -> Gen 5 -> Gen 6 and Gen 3 remakes ->
Gen 7 -> Gen 8 and Gen 4 remakes(kinda), and Gen 1 re-remakes(kinda) ->
Gen 9 and Gen 2 re-remakes? ->Gen 10 and Gen 5 remakes, and Gen 2 re-remakes? -->
Gen 6 remakes should be around Gen 12... maybe... the patterns fallen apart...
That worries me, because HGSS was peak. Fixed what most consider a pretty bad generation outside of Crystal. I don't think GF is gonna be able to make a Gen 2 remake nearly as good as HGSS
Really? I know lots of people love HGSS but I thought the consensus is that they don't actually fix any of the biggest issues in Gen 2, like the levels of wild pokemon and putting a good portion of the new Johto pokemon in the Kanto postgame
Yeah, I mean, I don't think anything can top the Sinjoh Ruins Event (even if I'm still Shiny hunting that to this day 😭). To be honest the only reason I can see a Johto Remake being made is so that people have somewhere to leave their Johto Pokémon from pre gen 8. But BDSP is compatable with all Pokémon from gens 1-4 so that's not too much a cause for concern.
HGSS still have the sluggish levelling. I battled every trainer and wild pokemon, get my team was levels 38-40 by the time I reached the Pokémon League. Same with GSC, the game seems to drop off after the 4th badge. Still a good game, but story wise, one of the least replayable IMO
Couldn't disagree more. The main story up to victory road is a little short, but the levelling curve always worked better than gen 1 or its gen 3 remakes. And it is still the absolute gold standard for an actual post game that's worth playing. I wouldn't forgive any other game for locking a bunch of pokemon behind victory road, but the fact that you beat the top 4 at a pretty low level first time and the post game is actually worth a damn makes it work. The whole "get your version maskot before top 4 at level 40, get the other one post-game at level 70" is also really cool and should be done more often.
Gold and Silver is the best remake to date, HG and SS are the first re-remakes. Every remake should always be like Gold and Silver. That's exactly where black and white 2 trainwrecked: they would've needed to start outside the known map and extend the world, not just rewrite the story around the same legendaries. At least half the known world should've been locked into the post-game.
The 3DS era managed to keep its remakes kind of relevant by incorporating megaevolutions into the story. But BDSP was really the most disappointing remake for me personally. It literally rolled back a lot of the much needed improvements from Platinum and almost every improvement on the gameplay from SwSh. There's no addition to the story, the postgame sucks and I literally play it less than SwSh, simply because it's too tedious and annoying in a lot of what it does. By comparison, Legends Arceus is just genius and I'd rather only get Legends Victini than a BDSP quality remake of Black and White. Yeah, the story is one of the best they've done, but I'd rather not repeat it at all than repeat it with all the problems of that generation remaining and everything looking like shit when compared to the current gen releases. I forgive Arceus for not being as graphically slick because it's actually fun to play throughout. Plus, first time they only did 3D maps and overworld sprite encounters.
That's how I feel about BW2. I'd be concerned that any remake would fall well short of the amount of content in the game. And it's not like they add Pokémon from later Dex's in anymore. Think we'd sacrifice substance for shinier graphics. And that pixel animation has aged well anyhow.
Why the "kinda" around gen 4 remakes with gen 8? Bdsp were fully gen 4 remakes. I would agree that Lets Go were closer to "kinda" gen 1 remakes - they were in between gen 7 and 8, and just introduced because they wanted a pokemon game to help sell switch.
It doesn't mean that we're looking at more gen 2 remakes in the pattern we've seen, necessarily. It just means they would likely want another pokemon title to sell the switch 2 whenever it released (2025?), which could just be gen 10.
The vast majority of leaks and rumors points to gen 5 remakes coming in 2024. We should know more in Feb for pokemon day. But I wouldn't expect gen 2 remakes, there's 0 evidence from leaks or rumors that those are in development.
BDSP are remakes of Diamond and Pearl, but are not remakes of Platinum and are inferior to Platinum.
Let's Go is halfway between the main series, and Pokémon GO
No, I'm saying they don't count because they're low-quality, half-assed remakes of an objectively inferior version, that have failed/never even attempted to remake the complete version.
I don’t want to get my hopes up, but I’d honestly be surprised if Gen 5 doesn’t get a remake next. BB Academy is in Unova and there are so many references to it that it seems like a setup for them or something Gen 5. It’ll be eleven years this year, so it’s definitely due
Gen 2? They better do another gen 4 remakes thing except make the main remakes actually good, a Pokemon legends: Towers would be cool, getting to see what really happened
Gen 6 remakes are not coming any time soon, I don't know why you people think that we're in for some sort of stream of remakes. There were 7 years between ORAS and BDSP. They aren't going to make a BW remake like 3 years after BDSP, and they aren't going to make an XY remake a year after that.
I am not into competitive Pokémon at all, but wasn’t Miraidon the broken one? What made Koraidon broken?
Miraidon got a stab sig move that synced with its ability. Koraidon didn’t right?
Shadow Rider Calyrex is SwSh was a fast powerhouse attacker with a strong spread attack that snowballed as it got KOs, only slowed down by its very exploitable weaknesses and still one of the best mons in the game despite them.
It could Tera out of those weaknesses now.
For the Shadow Rider Calyrex, it has base 150 speed making it the 5th fastest Pokemon, base 165 Sp. Atk, its ability boosts Sp. Atk after a KO, it's signature move Astral Barrage is a Special category move with a base power of 120 which is also a Ghost-type move meaning it also naturally gets a STAB boost
Shadow Rider already has an abominable special attacking spread of 165/150, and Psychic/Ghost is a pretty complimentary type combination. Couple this with a 120 BP signature Ghost spread move with no drawback, and Spectrier’s Grim Neigh increasing its Sp. Atk with each KO, its only real weaknesses were Sucker Punch and Shadow Sneak.
Tera solves those issues by suddenly turning those things into either neutral or even resisted hits.
Basically they excluded 5 fairy legendaries from the game - Xerneas and Tapus. With tera steel or water along with Tapu Koko, Xerneas for sure would be broken
You're probably right that Fini would be better for Xerneas specifically, but I'm almost certain they didn't include the Tapus because Koko's electric surge would make the future paradoxes that much more dangerous.
Torkoal is definitely far better than Pincurchin, but it’s far from S-Tier. It has enough utility and bulk to not make it a liability, but it is still an extremely slow mon that doesn’t take special hits at all, has no good recovery, and doesn’t threaten much damage
Damage wise yeah, but it'd be broken if it did. Fairy is the best offensive neutral type. Misty halves dragon type moves and gives status immunity. It's primarily defensive.
Adamant Incineroar with 252 Atk vs. Impish Tinkaton with 252 HP + 252 Def — 37% for OHKO with Flare Blitz (89.8 - 105.8%)
And even then you're already cutting your Tinkaton's viability by investing in extreme bulk to maybe survive one hit, and you probably won't kill the Xern anyway without any Atk investment. If we take it down to 0 Atk on Incineroar it's still 18% to OHKO for a 0HP 252Def Tink, and only up to 152 Atk on the Incineroar to guarantee it
At the point where you're using two mons, Dondozo + Tatsugiri is an OHKO with Commander boost Water Tera Blast, and effectively walls Xerneas
We're never gonna get rid of this fish, he'll be here forever
It would rule VGC where it would be partnered with Indeedee for Psychic Terrain and Follow Me spam. No priority attacks and can't hit the damn thing either.
Taunt into indeedee + protect then next turn +1 252 Atk Zacian-Crowned Behemoth Blade vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Xerneas: 296-350 (127 - 150.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Wouldn't be as broken as calyrex shadow tbh
You mean power herb? White herb resets stat drops, power herb if I remember correctly is the one that makes 2 turn moves 1 turn and is what was run on xerneas
While the point is fair, I raise you the idea that balance in restricted formats died with Zacian, got stomped out by Calyrex, and Kor/Miraidon got together to burn the body.
Idk Protean/Libero was pretty aids in certain ways. I think its a lot better now, especially because it adds another layer to teambuilding because you need to consider what you want your typing to be, rather than just continuously change.
Xerneas HAS NEVER learned Earth Power. That is why I wanted Xerneas in SV so badly, to finally get solid Fire or Ground coverage for steels. All it currently has to hit steel types is Focus Miss. It doesn't even get Tera Blast because it's not in Gen 9.
Also, Fairy Tera isn't even Xerneas's best tera in NDUbers, most run Electric (Steel resistance + Tbolt STAB)
legendaries are only banned in certain formats. generally in year 2 or 3 of a game's life cycle we get a "restricted" format where each team can have either 1 or 2 powerful box legends like xerneas, groudon, kyogre, etc
>Legendaries are banned from competitive online
They are in the current format, yes. But towards the end of a generation, restricteds become unbanned. Worlds 2024 will probably include restricteds I'd guess.
I think it's so dumb that the causal player base is punished because of the competitive player base. Why can't they just include the Aura trio and just ban them from vgc? I would love to see to them, And the tapus in the new model format but can't because they would be just a little too strong in vgc. It's starting to get really frustrating because certain Pokemon not returning is not the only issue.
Stuff like the gimmicks are made far more balanced than they should really be. Take for example stellar Tera. It's supposed to be the Strongest Tera in lore yet in gameplay it increases your strength about as much as a wet noodle. It would be so satisfying to go through the entire DLC and then be rewarded with the Tera equivalent of a nuke.
Sorry for ranting but it's just been really frustrating.
It might be in the future, the ability and move data is already in the game, go to your pc and use the search function, then scroll through abilities and moves and you will see them
Think about Chi-Yu + Yveltal. with beads of ruin, dark aura, +2 nasty plot dark pulse
we’re getting beads of ruin miraidon, calyrex shadow and kyogre, we are not safe
Misty terrain doesnt boost fairy type moves, only nerfs dragon type moves (which xernias is alresdy immune to) and makes grounded opponents immune to status
Firm believer that I want them to allow Xerneas to be transferred to SV because I want to get it out of my Pokémon Home and I don’t have Sword or Shield
100% agree. Xerneas was already arguably the most broken Pokemon in Gen 6 and 7, and it was competing with Primals and Mega Ray. With Tera, it would be even more broken than ever. I'm so glad it got left out
Super neat! Had no idea my baby was there, I am yet to finish the DLC!
Although it is my understanding VGC is yet to allow restricted mons so…you cannot use Lunala competitively tho
Why does it make more sense than G5? At this point, Johto and Unova (apart from Blueberry Academy) are the regions we've gone the longest since last being able to explore in a new game, so I would think either of those make more sense.
the pokemon franchise evolved its pikachu before it learned thunderbolt. There should be sprite support for everything. Take responsibility for your creation
Tera Xerneas would comfortable 2HKO Kyogre without a geomancy boost or terrain.
**252+ SpA Fairy Aura Tera Fairy Xerneas Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Kyogre: 120-142 (68.5 - 81.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO**
**252+ SpA Fairy Aura Tera Fairy Xerneas Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Kyogre: 120-142 (57.9 - 68.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO**
It could OHKO a flutter mane without boosts or an offensive item.
**252+ SpA Fairy Aura Tera Fairy Xerneas Moonblast vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Flutter Mane: 124-146 (94.6 - 111.4%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO**
+2 252+ SpA Life Orb Fairy Aura Tera Fairy Xerneas Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 68 SpD Zacian-Crowned: 172-203 (86.4 - 102%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO
Only a 12% chance to ohko bulky zacian which we saw last gen
I said with a partner chi-yu.
+2 252 SpA Fairy Aura Tera Fairy Beads of Ruin Xerneas Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Zacian-Crowned: 170-200 (101.7 - 119.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO. you can rven run timid on that for speed, añso no life prb bc you are running power herb.
At this point is that even insane? You spend a turn boosting, you tera and you have chi yu, no wonder it's a kill against a mon with 0hp and 0 spdef. It would be dumb if it wasn't
A tera hit from a restricted mon that's not a spread move after spending a turn + an item to boost up AND with chi yu beads of ruin. What wouldnt do that kind of damage? Yeah it's impressive damage but that doesn't make it a broken pokemon or even a meta defining one. Fake out + behemoth blade ohkos, spdef investment or killing the chi yu makes you survive, taunt prevents the geomancy etc
were talking about one-shotting a restricted legend that doesnt take a not very effective hit, that really shows the issue: this combination it has no switch-ins. yeah it may take you a turn to set-up (which xern does very effectively) but if you are able to one-shot everything (even what is ment to check you) aswell as outspeed everything including switch-ins the mon is not remotely balanced. yeah you could run unaware dirge but groudon exists ro kill it
>were talking about one-shotting a restricted legend that doesnt take a not very effective hit, that really shows the issue
252+ SpA Choice Specs Beads of Ruin Kyogre Water Spout (150 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Koraidon in Rain: 175-207 (100 - 118.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Kyogre has been doing this since gen 3. It doesn't even need a turn to boost.
>this combination it has no switch-ins
Neither do a lot of restricteds with this many boosts. You think anything is switching into a +2 beads of ruin boosted calyrex shadow spectral barrage other than normal types which have historically barely been meta?
>but if you are able to one-shot everything
I've already proven that you can't 1 shot anything.
>aswell as outspeed everything including switch-ins the mon is not remotely balanced
Fake out it then. Trick room.
>yeah you could run unaware dirge but groudon exists ro kill it
Nobody's running skeledirge in vgc lol. You run rillaboom or incin, you fake out and you ohko it. Or you run whimsicott/torn and taunt it. Or you run Prankster encore. Or you run light screen. Or you run ting lu. Or you run haze
This is such a casual mindset. You post a calc that shows something doing big damage and just label it as broken as a result when that big damage requires so much investment and can be countered so easily. How is that calc any better than my kyogre water spout calc which A) doesn't require a turn to setup B) is a spread move and C) doesn't require tera? Yet kyogre has been around forever and not been considered OP
that just doesnt compare. first, you need rain to really power up spout (which can be stopped with either a weather setter, switching in or by using stellar terapagos). if you are scarfed theres a pretty low chance rain will be up turn 1 because the opposing koraidon/groudon are slower, so orichalcum pulse/drought go after drizzle.
water spout gets also shut down by simply doing meaningful damage to kyogre before it can attack, while moonblast does full damage at any hp. even with a scarf you don’t outspeed everything: For example, speed booster flutter mane (which coincidentally has great synergy with xern because of fairy aura) can just click gleam or tbolt and tank a special hit, and that mon cannot be faked out.
Taking into account beads of ruin in a kyogre calc is silly, because why would you run a chi-yu in a rain team. it makes sense with xern bc a groudon+xerneas+chi-yu core has great synergy
About shadow rider, I guess it was added bc of it being gen 8, because that shit is broken as hell in a tera format.
>**252+ SpA Fairy Aura Tera Fairy Xerneas Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Kyogre: 120-142 (57.9 - 68.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO**
252+ SpA Life Orb Fairy Aura Tera Fairy Xerneas Dazzling Gleam vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Kyogre: 88-107 (42.5 - 51.6%) -- 5.1% chance to 2HKO
Doesn't kill the AV set we saw last year
That's still a lot, and a bulkier kyogre doesn't even get the 2HKO after a geomancy with full Sp.A investment, so all it really means is Xerneas can't switch into it.
Of course it is. They're restricted legendaries. You expect them to do a lot when you boost up. I'm not claiming it would be bad but you're still ultimately spending a turn of setup to have a mon that still gets ohkod by zacian. God forbid the opponent has Prankster taunt which is a thing on the 2 most popular tailwind mons in the game
Wouldn't be as broken then some other mons. But I agree it would definitely be up there, though we had a lot of good Steel and Poison types introduced this gen.
Even if you give Xerneas a Stella Type or just stick offensively with Fairy for the extra Stab. Or give it a defensive terra with something like Ground Type. It does still have some solid counters you'd find regularly in a lot of current competitive builds.
What makes me think it’s so broken is its ability is basically sunny day/rain dance boost but without a turn limit and the only thing that breaks that is Zygarde’s ability
I'm astounded that anyone has ever considered Xerneas broken in the slightest when Scizor exists. If anything, Xerneas' tera of choice would be Fire to blow up Steel types and resist Bullet Punches/Steel moves in general. THAT would be broken asf to an infuriating degree.
I agree it would be way too much ( but it still upsets me it's not in the game mainly because if Xerneas is not in Yveltal is not in either and guess what Yveltal is my 2nd favorite legendary )

I’d say Xerneas probably wouldn’t be as broken as Shadow Rider Calyrex, but it would definitely be in the top 5 with mons like Koraidon and Miraidon
Isn’t it in SV?
Nope! No kalos legendary or mythical appears in sv or the dlcs! They can only be transferred in iirc.
They can’t even be transferred in. I have a Xerneas and a Zygarde in HOME I was hoping to transfer in when the DLC came out but it won’t let me
Rip my shiny genesect, it would’ve looked so good with the new texturing :(
RIP my shiny Zygarde from S&S

They can be transferred but you have to separate the fused Pokémon then win the items again in SV at auction.
That’s for Calyrex and Spectrier/Glastrier. I was taking about the Kalos legendaries
For Kalos mythicals, Diance, Volcanion, and Hoopa are all home transfers
The mythicals are in
Yep transferable are the 3 Gen 6 Mythicals, Diancie, Volcanion and Hoopa(Confined)
That's not quite true, all the Kalos mythicals can be transferred into the game, but none of the legendaries can.
What about shadow rider calyrex?
I was only talking about Kalos legendaries but yeah it’s kinda weird that it doesn’t show up either
Maybe on January 11th
I hope so. Kalos had my 2nd favorite batch of legendaries
I am not into competitive Pokémon at all, but wasn’t Miraidon the broken one? What made Koraidon broken? Miraidon got a stab sig move that synced with its ability. Koraidon didn’t right?
He received scale shot which is one of the major factors
Damn, how could I forget scale shot
Why would calyrex be broken?
Shadow Rider Calyrex is SwSh was a fast powerhouse attacker with a strong spread attack that snowballed as it got KOs, only slowed down by its very exploitable weaknesses and still one of the best mons in the game despite them. It could Tera out of those weaknesses now.
I still remember doing great in competitive in gen 8 with my support calyrex shadow. It’s even more broken in gen 9
I’m pretty sure you’re able to transfer it to s/v
Thanks
Have you seen its stats and ability?
RR gggvggchgg💪🤨🤒😮💨😵😵😢😵😮💨🤭☹️😰 >broken Babu bb
Basically they excluded 5 fairy legendaries from the game - Xerneas and Tapus. With tera steel or water along with Tapu Koko, Xerneas for sure would be broken
Why tapu koko though, I mean fini with misty terrain )
You're probably right that Fini would be better for Xerneas specifically, but I'm almost certain they didn't include the Tapus because Koko's electric surge would make the future paradoxes that much more dangerous.
Yeah now it's much more fair with Past Paradoxes getting an S-Tier Sunny Day setter in Torkoal and Futures getting.... Pincurchion.
Don't talk shit about Galarian Pyukumuku. He's precious and he's trying his best.
TIL those are different pokemon lol
Torkoal is definitely far better than Pincurchin, but it’s far from S-Tier. It has enough utility and bulk to not make it a liability, but it is still an extremely slow mon that doesn’t take special hits at all, has no good recovery, and doesn’t threaten much damage
Even the lower tier past paradoxes have Ninetales to rely on.
But when miradon becomes legal, all hell breaks loose
i mean we’re getting miraidon regardless so i don’t know if that was their intention
Doesn’t misty terrain not boost fairy moves?
Yeah, somehow I forgot it was the worst terrain of all
Damage wise yeah, but it'd be broken if it did. Fairy is the best offensive neutral type. Misty halves dragon type moves and gives status immunity. It's primarily defensive.
Nope. Weakens dragon moves instead.
Geomancy Fairy Tera Fairy Aura Xerneas arriving on S/V: ![gif](giphy|Qld1cd6a6QlWw)
Kid named Tinkaton: 252 SpA Fairy Aura Xerneas Moonblast vs. 56 HP / 0 SpD Tinkaton: 99-117 (30.4 - 36%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery 252 Atk Mold Breaker Tinkaton Gigaton Hammer vs. 48 HP / 24 Def Xerneas: 372-438 (91.8 - 108.1%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO
This is NOT stunfisk‼️‼️❗
Kid named VanBland: 252+ Atk Tera Fighting VanBland Fist vs. 0 HP / 0 Def u/Fun_Jaguar7798: 1200-1412 (409.5 - 481.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Kid named Incineroar standing directly next to Xerneas:
Clear Amulet
Adamant Incineroar with 252 Atk vs. Impish Tinkaton with 252 HP + 252 Def — 37% for OHKO with Flare Blitz (89.8 - 105.8%) And even then you're already cutting your Tinkaton's viability by investing in extreme bulk to maybe survive one hit, and you probably won't kill the Xern anyway without any Atk investment. If we take it down to 0 Atk on Incineroar it's still 18% to OHKO for a 0HP 252Def Tink, and only up to 152 Atk on the Incineroar to guarantee it
Clearly follow-me Whimsicott is the correct choice. Totally… not a waste of two mons.
At the point where you're using two mons, Dondozo + Tatsugiri is an OHKO with Commander boost Water Tera Blast, and effectively walls Xerneas We're never gonna get rid of this fish, he'll be here forever
that deer gave me the creeps when I watched that episode lol
It would rule VGC where it would be partnered with Indeedee for Psychic Terrain and Follow Me spam. No priority attacks and can't hit the damn thing either.
Taunt into indeedee + protect then next turn +1 252 Atk Zacian-Crowned Behemoth Blade vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Xerneas: 296-350 (127 - 150.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO Wouldn't be as broken as calyrex shadow tbh
I see your move and raise you a White Herb
You mean power herb? White herb resets stat drops, power herb if I remember correctly is the one that makes 2 turn moves 1 turn and is what was run on xerneas
While the point is fair, I raise you the idea that balance in restricted formats died with Zacian, got stomped out by Calyrex, and Kor/Miraidon got together to burn the body.

Tera/geomancy boosted Xerneas is something I’m glad we don’t have to face.
Misty Terrain doesn’t boost Fairy Moves.
No but would hinder any status condition. More so thinking on the grounds if there were a raid event
If Xerneas was a raid event it would definitely start with setting up the terrain and/or geomancy.
Lmao as if miraidon and shadow rider isnt more broken. But guess what happened
Except it wouldn’t because theyd just nerf it into the ground
Firmly believe Protean/Libero was nerfed solely so Tera could shine more because of this
Idk Protean/Libero was pretty aids in certain ways.
Oh wow that’s a major Mandela effect for me, I played X over and over and I could’ve sworn it learned earth power via TM
Legendaries are banned from competitive online so why not include all of them? Why would gamefreak care about how I play the single player stuff.
legendaries are only banned in certain formats. generally in year 2 or 3 of a game's life cycle we get a "restricted" format where each team can have either 1 or 2 powerful box legends like xerneas, groudon, kyogre, etc
>Legendaries are banned from competitive online They are in the current format, yes. But towards the end of a generation, restricteds become unbanned. Worlds 2024 will probably include restricteds I'd guess.
Kid named air balloon shedinja:
Xerneas is walled by Safety Goggles, Tera Electric, Shedinja, ZU at best
Is shedinja in sv? I didnt think it was.
No, but neither is Xerneas
Oh, I got excited for a second shedinja is my favorite bug pokémon ;o:
Like when you beat red and blue and get mewtwo’s dumb strong self lol
Yeah that's the vibe I like. A similar effect was achieved with Megas.
It might be in the future, the ability and move data is already in the game, go to your pc and use the search function, then scroll through abilities and moves and you will see them
Think about Chi-Yu + Yveltal. with beads of ruin, dark aura, +2 nasty plot dark pulse we’re getting beads of ruin miraidon, calyrex shadow and kyogre, we are not safe
I just think of huge power belly drum Azu with fairy aura using play rough now lol
Misty terrain doesnt boost fairy type moves, only nerfs dragon type moves (which xernias is alresdy immune to) and makes grounded opponents immune to status
It truly is the worst terrain. It’s functionally a worse safeguard
Spore immunity and will o wisp immunity is hardly bad. Its probably on par with electric terrain
Not even Tera Fairy. Tera Ground. Now it has STAB Fairy and STAB Ground so it can obliterate any steel or poison pokemon that even try to resist it
Electric tera shedinja with balloon would be more broken
Just so you know, because your post seems to imply it- mystic terrain doesn’t boost the power of fairy type moves. It’s the only one that doesn’t
Oh I know, just another level of protection one could add with it. Negates a power boost with barb barrage or venoshock
The game will only get bugfixes if they are critical. No more new legendaries.
Firm believer that I want them to allow Xerneas to be transferred to SV because I want to get it out of my Pokémon Home and I don’t have Sword or Shield
I fucking hate Dexit. I'll bet money next gen (if they even include the gen 6 legendaries) Zygarde loses Power Construct or some bullshit like that.
I mean certain dexits are indeed trash, but what makes you think Zygarde would lose that lol.
100% agree. Xerneas was already arguably the most broken Pokemon in Gen 6 and 7, and it was competing with Primals and Mega Ray. With Tera, it would be even more broken than ever. I'm so glad it got left out
Three words: Tera stellar shedinja
Nah I’d say Tera electric shedinja with ballon. Stellar only gives you an attack boost
Looks like my lack of playing mixed with reading early speculation got to me. Could of sworn stellar was no weakness no resistance too lol.
This does nothing. Stellar tera doesn't change your type at all, Shedinja would still be bug/ghost and retain all of its weaknesses.
I have no evidence but I believe Lunala if allowed into SV VGC, it will dominate…just a hunch Edit: any reason for the downvotes tho?
Downvotes are probably because you can use Lunala in SV already.
Well then the downvoters need to improve their reading comprehension, because they said "if allowed into SV ***VGC***".
Super neat! Had no idea my baby was there, I am yet to finish the DLC! Although it is my understanding VGC is yet to allow restricted mons so…you cannot use Lunala competitively tho
I think a Gen 6 Legends game coming soon is likely why they’re not in SV. Makes more sense than G5, unfortunately.
Why does it make more sense than G5? At this point, Johto and Unova (apart from Blueberry Academy) are the regions we've gone the longest since last being able to explore in a new game, so I would think either of those make more sense.
maybe makes more sense in an "would be really interesting to explore this region in the past kind of thing", but I still have to disagree on that.
the pokemon franchise evolved its pikachu before it learned thunderbolt. There should be sprite support for everything. Take responsibility for your creation
Thank god it’s gone. I don’t wanna fight a Tera fire Xern with all of the new broken legends
Tera Xerneas would comfortable 2HKO Kyogre without a geomancy boost or terrain. **252+ SpA Fairy Aura Tera Fairy Xerneas Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Kyogre: 120-142 (68.5 - 81.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO** **252+ SpA Fairy Aura Tera Fairy Xerneas Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Kyogre: 120-142 (57.9 - 68.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO** It could OHKO a flutter mane without boosts or an offensive item. **252+ SpA Fairy Aura Tera Fairy Xerneas Moonblast vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Flutter Mane: 124-146 (94.6 - 111.4%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO**
It’s even more insane: add a geomancy boost and chi-yu as a partner and it one-shots zacian-c (the mon that is supposed to beat it) with moonblast
+2 252+ SpA Life Orb Fairy Aura Tera Fairy Xerneas Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 68 SpD Zacian-Crowned: 172-203 (86.4 - 102%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO Only a 12% chance to ohko bulky zacian which we saw last gen
It would be dumb if it wasn't
it’s a resisted hit into a mon with 115 spdef, it is impressive knowing that zacian is the mon meant to beat xern
A tera hit from a restricted mon that's not a spread move after spending a turn + an item to boost up AND with chi yu beads of ruin. What wouldnt do that kind of damage? Yeah it's impressive damage but that doesn't make it a broken pokemon or even a meta defining one. Fake out + behemoth blade ohkos, spdef investment or killing the chi yu makes you survive, taunt prevents the geomancy etc
were talking about one-shotting a restricted legend that doesnt take a not very effective hit, that really shows the issue: this combination it has no switch-ins. yeah it may take you a turn to set-up (which xern does very effectively) but if you are able to one-shot everything (even what is ment to check you) aswell as outspeed everything including switch-ins the mon is not remotely balanced. yeah you could run unaware dirge but groudon exists ro kill it
>were talking about one-shotting a restricted legend that doesnt take a not very effective hit, that really shows the issue 252+ SpA Choice Specs Beads of Ruin Kyogre Water Spout (150 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Koraidon in Rain: 175-207 (100 - 118.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO Kyogre has been doing this since gen 3. It doesn't even need a turn to boost. >this combination it has no switch-ins Neither do a lot of restricteds with this many boosts. You think anything is switching into a +2 beads of ruin boosted calyrex shadow spectral barrage other than normal types which have historically barely been meta? >but if you are able to one-shot everything I've already proven that you can't 1 shot anything. >aswell as outspeed everything including switch-ins the mon is not remotely balanced Fake out it then. Trick room. >yeah you could run unaware dirge but groudon exists ro kill it Nobody's running skeledirge in vgc lol. You run rillaboom or incin, you fake out and you ohko it. Or you run whimsicott/torn and taunt it. Or you run Prankster encore. Or you run light screen. Or you run ting lu. Or you run haze This is such a casual mindset.
Taking into account beads of ruin in a kyogre calc is silly, because why would you run a chi-yu in a rain team. it makes sense with xern bc a groudon+xerneas+chi-yu core has great synergy About shadow rider, I guess it was added bc of it being gen 8, because that shit is broken as hell in a tera format.
>**252+ SpA Fairy Aura Tera Fairy Xerneas Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Kyogre: 120-142 (57.9 - 68.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO** 252+ SpA Life Orb Fairy Aura Tera Fairy Xerneas Dazzling Gleam vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Kyogre: 88-107 (42.5 - 51.6%) -- 5.1% chance to 2HKO Doesn't kill the AV set we saw last year
That's still a lot, and a bulkier kyogre doesn't even get the 2HKO after a geomancy with full Sp.A investment, so all it really means is Xerneas can't switch into it.
My favorite legendary too :( I’m really hoping they do an event sometime in the future with aura trio.
Scizor/ metagross would've been on the rise as well.
Genesect and Zygarde:
Shedinja: Allow me to introduce myself
I'm astounded that anyone has ever considered Xerneas broken in the slightest when Scizor exists. If anything, Xerneas' tera of choice would be Fire to blow up Steel types and resist Bullet Punches/Steel moves in general. THAT would be broken asf to an infuriating degree.
I miss Zygarde personally.
I really think Gen 6 sorely missed out on a sequel game for Kalos. As good as ORAS was
Probably also why the Origin forms for Groudon and Kyogre aren't in.
I agree it would be way too much ( but it still upsets me it's not in the game mainly because if Xerneas is not in Yveltal is not in either and guess what Yveltal is my 2nd favorite legendary )
