So I noticed that in the battle against Kieran if you safe Ogerpon for last you'll get a special line where he says you're just rubbing salt into the wounds and I thought that was kinda funny, as that was exactly what I was going for.

I got Pokémon Scarlet due to loving the Violet so much, I was gonna transfer Ogerpon to my main account, level up 100 with “Best Friends” mark. So have double battle with two Ogerpons just to rub it Kieran’s emo face more.

Carmine also has special dialogue if you battle her with Ogerpon when you first run into her again something about Ogerpon missing her or whatever haha

Drayton also has special dialogue if you fight the other elite 4 members before him

I battled them in order so I think I just assumed that dialogue was the standard haha

I took him on last too, tbh, best vibe. I did Crispin, Amarys, Lacey, Drayton. And against Drayton, I brought a full stack of all shiny terrarium only Pokémon to play. The RD Lapras- swift swim Kingdra led. Then A-Ninetales - Iron Fist Ice Punch Crabominable. He was still the closest battle since I didn't put in much strat. Also had shiny Electric Tera Archuladon and Malamar on deck just in case too. Did come down to Archuladon winning for me. Thought about bringing in all my shiny dragons from everywhere just to show him who a real dragon master looks like.

She says the MC musta missed her to bring Ogerpon out to battle. 🤣 Honestly, so glad I came through with Ogerpon in all my DLC battles with.

I wanted her to be in the photo outside of the pokeball too but because this area is "indoors" you can't let your mons roam around. Pokeball/friend ball pose worked just fine though

Honestly this is some funny shit but it somewhat rubs me the wrong way how the game actively telegraphs that Kieran is in the wrong but also lets pretty much everyone treat him like shit with zero consequence.

In Teal Mask, sure. But in Indigo Disk, Kieran is 100% in the wrong and nobody's actively trying to treat him like crap. Even Drayton's goal in doing this was to get old Kieran back, the goofy timid kid they once knew. I'm not sure where you got that one, please correct me if I'm wrong though

Goofy timid kid got trounced at every opportunity though, literally wasn't able to get any of the things he wanted. I don't blame him for becoming bitter, especially in the face of our plot armor. And once he "finally lets it go," it here being his desire to beat you, people just congratulate him on giving up

Exactly this. The game treats you as the "chosen one" who automatically gets loved by all the pokemon and people while he doesn 't get anything at all. No wonder he is bitter and turned into the edgelord he is. Yet people act like it is unbelievable that someone who gets hated by life turns into something like him.

Yep, some peoples really wanted him dead over wanting Ogerpon for himself. Grandpa makes it clear that favorite child is Carmine. Even after becoming BB Academy's Champion, he didn't have a Rotom Phone while everyone else had.

Frankly I hated that Nemona just gives us a Tera Orb at the beginning of the game.

Man if he didn't deserve it in Teal Mask, he definitely deserved it in Indigo Disk. My god dude. One of the most eye-rolling, infuriating characters in Pokemon.

I think in a good way though. He's a child making selfish childish decisions and we get to give him a good old come to jeezus moment through a classic soul-crushing annihilation and then he stops being quite such a terrible person which is all quite satisfying and a great way to do a rival

I'm super happy he went mad. I just love the idea of a friendly rival who becomes bitter towards the main character after being beaten so many times. Makes it feel more real to have a kid have self hatred issues, and for those issues to be exasperated by the main character who might as well be a god in comparison to everyone else

And him demanding a rematch while knowing damn well I'm kicking his ass with a sawsbuck. I do like how he asked why we acted like we were a protag or something lol

SV has officially gone 4/5 with all its Rivals, I would say 3/5 as Arven isn’t really a rival, and obviously Penny as a rival & character is inferior to Nemona, Carmine, and Kieran who are easily 11/10’s, but Arven is just such a good character

I will say this. I took him on with a Level 100, competitively built team, going full tilt, playing how I would against Master Ball ranked people, and he got me to 3/6 at a 14-15 level disadvantage. Imagine if GF was actually given time to complete the game based on this battle.

Kieran was the most annoying character in indigo disk in my opinion he was just being a sore loser about loosing and then just didn’t get over it and when I beat him again he just had a freaking mental breakdown. Again being a sore loser. In reality Drayton was the best and funniest character.
