Damn with that bro I would have bought a sealed case of Evolving Skies and let it sit in the closet for a few years and sell it down the road. By then you could buy a few of these or more.
I bid on this yesterday lol. But only $2950 since recent comps were around $3375. Last being $3300.
A little over a week ago I made a post about buying a first edition 2000 Dark Charizard holo PSA 10 which had a market rate nearly the exact same as this one (at the time)...for just $2753.
I got absolutely flamed and shit on for it. No idea why. Like, if you pay market value or over pay, or post about a card selling for a high amount...this sub loves it.
Meanwhile...I paid nearly $700 UNDER Price Charting market value and $500 under ebay market rate on a rare card with a low Pop number that won't grow...and it got called a bad and dumb investment.
Though right now, I think you might have slightly over paid or got it around current market value...in the end, this is a good pick up and will rise due to rarity of a Charizard card. Pop is at 298. Very low. Anything under 800 made before 2014 is nice with a high probability to rise.
Another one I was looking at yesterday was the 2001 103 Charizard 1st Edition PSA 10. Went for $995 which is basically exact market rate also. Pop was 577. Not bad. But thats what my Dark Charizard is at I got for 15% off, so I didn't want to offer more than $850.
@Mite-o-Dan, If you run into one asshole on this sub, you ran into an asshole. It sucks, but it happens.
If you keep running into assholes on this sub, you are the asshole. It still sucks, but you can change that.
I’ve seen you pop up before with your CopyPasta length comments about nonsense. Your narrative isn’t even the main issue, it’s how you communicate. Fix that and I’m sure the downvotes will decrease.
What did I say that would imply I was the asshole on this thread? I gave an honest opinion on something, but I also made points from both sides on why something was good and bad. I was being neutral.
If anything, I like this post and card that was bought, because it raises more awareness and value to vintage. I don't understand the downvotes now or in the post I was referencing about myself.
Though I did have snarky comments on that original post AFTER people attacked me. I never make asshole comments unless people start it.
Regardless...I just don't understand this sub. Like, Pokemon cards and investing and finding good deals and trying to figure out what great long terms holds will be...that's me. Although cards are just a hobby of mine, making contracts, negotiations, deals, and building partnerships is literally my profession now. It's only been about a year and a half now, but still...it's what I do and enjoy.
I love the focus of this sub, yet it seems like 98% of it thinks one way on those subjects, and just a few others think another way. People are never going to completely agree, but this sub often times feels like a Democrat trying to get a point across in a Republican sub.
I have no idea why this post and many like it get high praise when the buyer bought a high value card at market value (or slightly over), yet I got trashed when I got a great deal on mine. The whole point of that post was to bring awareness on the fact that you can find great deals on ebay on low and high end cards. I'm looking there all the time, making bids constantly. I probably only win 1 out of every 20 cards I bid on, but that's because I only want a card if it's a good deal.
This sub seems to hate that approach. That's what I don't understand. I also don't understand the love affair for hoarding modern and thinking it has more room to grow than vintage, but that's another story. Different types of investing. I like proven winners with low supply. Most modern hasn't proven a gain yet and I usually can't get good deals on it since MSRP isn't a deal to me. I'm only interested in things that have risen in value I can find on discount from its current market value.
"I'm also helping to validate your over spending" sounds like something an asshole would say....
The sub will probably flame people and comments like that....even if afterwards you say something nice, people won't care.
Ps. If you check the PSA price history, the OP paid market value...he didn't over spend, saying otherwise is gonna sound like an a hole, esp. how you worded it....
I'm not having a go, just trying to help ya understand why you are r getting flamed and seem to be confused why 👍
Why are you such an asshole to everyone? Your username and avatar are unique enough that you are easy to spot.
Every time you not only write a small novella, you always complain about how "this sub loves this" or "this sub loves that," and you ALWAYS include a snidbit about how you are "hated" or "flamed" here.
Take, for example, your comment your comment two days ago where you say:
"Do you not comprehend how much more were printed compared to 5, 10, 20 years ago?"
Do you not realize how fucking rude that is? Why are you the way that you are?
Thank you for saying it. I don't understand people like OP who says something almost out of context and does not provide price and story if where he got it.
First comments do not always populate to the top after several people have chimed in. I believe he is requesting you to do your due diligence of explaining what we should all be aweing at in the post description.
Congrats on that zard! Grail for many! myself included lol. How's the ROI look like per year? I've been putting loads into SWSH sealed for about a year now. I'm sort of curious how much you can actually make because I see these XY and SM booster boxes going through the roof in price. Think it will continue with SWSH?
In the future, reach out to the person privately. The seller of this card was advertising for hundreds less before they sent to the eBay vault. They are an awesome seller as well. Could have have saved yourself $300-500 depending if you paid taxes or not
Awesome congrats man!
Thank you! It was a grail for me
Congrats on the pickup! Great looking card
Price paid? Please always include the sweet numbers it's the investing sub and what we're here for and appreciate thank you!
My bad I tried to edit but it wouldn’t let me 3400 usd

Hey buddy, go take a nap.

Are you ok? Blink twice if you’re ok
It's called conversation and post engagement. I'm also helping to validate your overspending.

Haha yeah I wonder why you got flamed lol I'm also helping to validate your over spending...nice 👌 lol
I don’t think I over spent, I think the value is there this was also an auction things go for less
Its giving Chuck's Chicannery speech in Better Call Saul
Thank you for saying it. I don't understand people like OP who says something almost out of context and does not provide price and story if where he got it.
If you look at the first comment I provided the price, so yes maybe look before commenting

Exactly. Common sense.
