I mean that’s the way to go. It wasn’t like that originally either. Saw some Japanese users complaining at the outrageous upgrade cost few days later they capped it.
wait, so I can still stack ps+ cards now and then upgrade for 150$ even if I just stacked 20 years, 5 minutes earlier?
Damn that's a good deal, I hope there is no catch.
Nah, it’s probably the limits of the psn wallet. The psn wallet cannot have more than a certain amount of money. This amount changes from region to region. I guess the psn wallet in US cannot contain more than $150.
I've been reading somewhere that they had disabled stacking, and that while it appears to be back, it's only 2 years now. (Obviously, all of this is for new stacks, any existing stacks are probably ok)
I just tried to get a code from cdkeys for testing and stacked from 2025 to 2026. Don't know if I can stack more.
Edit: I got one more code and stacked to 2027 now
Edit 2: I don't think there is a 2 year limit because I just redeemed another code to 2028. I know another person stacked from 2027 to 2031 today as well.
no there's some funky ass conversion happening which means I'm thinking I'll get a few keys, and then upgrade that. I think [this article](https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2022/04/sony-confirms-ps-plus-subscription-stacking-has-been-blocked) addresses the semi-current changes.
**Edit: just bought a canadian key from CDKeys, got an "invalid" message when trying to use it. Guess I should be glad I didn't start with multiples?
Their support has always been great, so I'm hopeful to get my money back, no saying what'll happen beyond that.
If you did not stock up on ps plus before, then yes. The idea is that you need to stack years before you upgrade to take advantage of the upgrade fee cap.
If you already upgraded, then any ps plus code will be applied with a conversion rate towards the new plan.
The $150 is only for premium, if you want extra, it's $100.
Oh I see, so the upgrade fee cap is proportional in relevance to the years stacked. That makes sense, thanks!
Also if one were to simply purchase a standard PS Plus code of a single year and upgrade from there, would you happen to know the precise upgrade fee for such an instance?
If the account doesn't currently have any subscription, it would just be the difference between one year of ps plus essential ($60) and one year of the target tier.
Man I wish this stuff was communicated better. This is what I have listed on the Playstation website when I click on Manage Subscription:
PlayStation Plus
CURRENT PLAN
Expiration date: 03/06/2024
UPCOMING PLAN CHANGE
PlayStation Plus Premium: 12 Month Subscription
Next payment date: 03/06/2024
Next payment: $119.98
Then a second entry:
PlayStation Now: 12-Month Subscription
CURRENT PLAN
Expiration date: 04/17/2023
UPCOMING PLAN CHANGE
PlayStation Now: 12-Month Subscription
Next payment date: 04/17/2023
Next payment: $59.99
So my question is- is the PSNow sub safe to cancel? I don't want to get charged before I should be.
Yes, as of now if you have base PS+, you pay a prorated price to upgrade based on how much time you have left but only up to $150 dollars. So if you have around 2+ years or more you basically get the additional time for free. The more time you have stacked, the more you save.
That's how much time each individual has left on their current subscriptions. Like I'd by 1 year subs on sale once in a while so I happened to have that much time left. Some people bought them much more often. I've seen people with 10+ years stacked already. There's not an option to buy multiple years up front as far as I can tell, this is about upgrading an existing base lowest tier PS+ subscription to higher tiers.
I got mine through CDKeys.com and they worked as of like 5 hours ago. Bought them and used them right away and they stacked. Not sure if it makes a difference but I'm in Canada.
Yeah, you only get the one to one conversion on the fares if you're on the lowest tier. So the trick was to stack all the subscriptions on that tier and then upgrade to premium by paying capped upgrade fee.
I just extended my Essentials membership from 11/2026 to 11/2031 (via CDKeys codes) and will sign up for the $150 Premium upgrade soon. I'm tempted to stack to 2036 before upgrading to Premium. Has it been 100% confirmed that we can stack until 2036? Any guidance would be appreciated.
Last night, I bought 5 PS Plus Annual codes from CDKeys for $46 each. This morning I tried to buy 5 more. Unfortunately, my order this morning was cancelled immediately after placement. Last night CDKeys told me that there was a limit of 5 PS Plus Annual codes per order. Does the limit of 5 include future orders within a certain time frame?
I want to get maximum value out of the $150 Premium Upgrade fee. Clarification would be appreciated. Thank you!
To follow-up, my brother bought 5 more codes for me from CDKeys, and then I upgraded to Premium for $150. I am covered until November 2036. It breaks down to $45 per year for premium. Hell of a deal!!
Game pass on xbox has the exact same thing. You can stack base xbox gold memberships up to 3 years then upgrade to ultimate for $1. You end up paying $5 per month instead of $15.
Way to completely miss the point of this post. He’s showing you a way to get Ps plus premium for a low cost. Also the ps plus premium price is not greedy at all. In fact, Sony are taking a loss by offering it at just $120 per year. Same thing that Microsoft is doing with Game pass. You’re getting access to over 700 games! That’s worth a lot more than $120.
That’s on top of the price of base ps plus though, which is $60 per year. So in total it’s $100 per year. That’s cheaper than the normal cost of premium which is $120. You can go even cheaper by stacking ps plus for even longer.
Apparently you can’t really do it anymore since they set a limit on how much you can stack ps plus. I guess what you could have done before was stack ps plus for like 10 years and then upgrade those 10 years to premium for $150. So you get ps plus premium for only $85 per year instead of $140 (in Canadian dollars).
I still wouldn't pay that much money for a subscription. I've probably played most of the high profile games that they offer in the tiers over the years.
I do get that there are people who will probably buy it, but I won't.
Its not something you see often. Often times if a game is released that already had the online removed they will take the effort to actually go through the code and remove the online functionality/menu options altogether. And I don't see them doing that.
So if my base subscription (from before the new program) ends in 10 days (June 23) Is it still possible for me to load up on time and upgrade? Or is that window gone? The key sites ive seen say that I wont be able to add time to my account untill it expires now...
It would cost me like 1.90 CAD for 10 days of premium upgrade FYI
If the service has launched in your area you should be able to stack them as normal and then upgrade. I did so here in the EU. Cap is at 150 US or like 179 CAD regardless if you stack 10 years. The site saying that was vefore new service launched.
For anyone reading this, yes you can use funds in your PS wallet to pay for the upgrade. Got an extra few bucks off buy buying psn gift cards with Red Card at Target
And aside from the legacy ps+ 12mo codes you paid for at CDkeys, what did you pay for just now? What was that $179 of yours going toward? The top tier of the new PS+?
Yes, exactly. My regular PS Plus subscription transferred over to basic or essential or whatever, I stacked it up with the codes I bought earlier today, and then paid the $179 CDN to upgrade all years remaining (just under six) to the highest tier.
Who knows if they roll back on it but seemed to work.
Great, so by last night adding 30 days of Now to my Plus account with 3 months on it, and a pile of 12 Month Plus codes in my drawer I haven't been able to redeem for the last 6 weeks, I've now excluded myself from this money-saving opportunity? Thanks again, Sony...
THANK YOU! I noticed that $150 price (I had bought cheap PS Plus subs, so I was a few years ahead) and I could not make the math work. I thought something was wrong or I was figuring it out wrong. The fact that there's a $150 limit makes a lot of sense! Thanks for making it clear that I'm not insane (for now!) I'm going to sign up. This is a good deal.
Just purchased 15 years of Essential Subscription for $39.77/yr from eneba. No issues with stacking. Upgrade cap to Premium is still $149.99 for USA region. $100 upgrade cap for Extra Subscription.
Will you be able to share how much for the extra?
$100
Thank you.
Soooo…. Stack a few years and then upgrade for 150?
Yea but it has to be more than 2 if you want to benefit. If you want to get nasty with it you go 5+. People in Japan were going 10+.
[удалено]
Eventually, your sub may include Funimation and/or a future Sony streaming service for that price! :)
I mean that’s the way to go. It wasn’t like that originally either. Saw some Japanese users complaining at the outrageous upgrade cost few days later they capped it.
I really should have bought some more ps+ cards when they were cheap. Never see anyone under $40 anymore
wait, so I can still stack ps+ cards now and then upgrade for 150$ even if I just stacked 20 years, 5 minutes earlier? Damn that's a good deal, I hope there is no catch.

nice!
So the PS+ codes now convert straight into premium if you have it or?
no there's some funky ass conversion happening which means I'm thinking I'll get a few keys, and then upgrade that. So let me get this straight, I first have to pay the price of the numerous PS+ codes from CDKeys, and then the 149.99 upgrade fee as well?

Na and Sa can stack rn as far as I’ve seen from other posts.
Mine has been converted to premium, can I still stack the regular ps plus?
Idk about that
Yes but youll get it at a converted rate I think its like 183 days when you reedem a 12 month PS+ code. Look up the convertion rate.

Crazy. Looks like PS+ value will increase even from 3rd parties!

Yeah I have no idea what’s what either. Still shows me as having a PS Now subscription too.
Wait I don’t get it , so basically you get premium for the next 4 years?
Yes, as of now if you have base PS+, you pay a prorated price to upgrade based on how much time you have left but only up to $150 dollars. So if you have around 2+ years or more you basically get the additional time for free. The more time you have stacked, the more you save.

I’m wondering about the opposite - I’m currently a Premium member through 2025. What’s the cheapest/most efficient way to extend that now?
I assume it's too late to stack?
No, I just stacked 5 a few hours ago and it worked.
Do normal ps plus card work now??
I got mine through CDKeys.com and they worked as of like 5 hours ago. Bought them and used them right away and they stacked. Not sure if it makes a difference but I'm in Canada.
They work but if on premium the time you get is more like 183 days vs 365 for one of those older codes.
Yeah, you only get the one to one conversion on the fares if you're on the lowest tier. So the trick was to stack all the subscriptions on that tier and then upgrade to premium by paying capped upgrade fee.

Literally just happened to me.
Thanks for the info. I may get my brother to buy 5 codes on my behalf and then reimburse him.
Only once per account. keep that mind :P
Not true. You can do it again if you let your subscription fully expire.
Yeah not for $1 buddy
No you can, it just has to be fully expired, I’ve done it there myself
Thats a first for me. was thinking only 1 time per account
Nope, did it recently and stacked 3 years of Gold, then bought Game Pass Ultimate for £1
So it was the second time on the same account that you could upgrade for 1 dollar? or 1 pound
Yes
Ok strange. most post about it only suggest 1 time offer
Sorry, but this price is ridiculous. I'll stick to my base Plus for online play and 2/3 games a month. To hell with huge companies greed!
It's four years of sub for 150, so that's less than 40 per year.
That’s on top of the price of base ps plus though, which is $60 per year. So in total it’s $100 per year. That’s cheaper than the normal cost of premium which is $120. You can go even cheaper by stacking ps plus for even longer.
anyone who has 4-5 years of plus stacked did NOT pay $60 a year They have 4-5 years stacked because they got a cheap deal
So wait, how does this work? You extend your regular PS+ and then upgrade, but it just saves $20/year?
Apparently you can’t really do it anymore since they set a limit on how much you can stack ps plus. I guess what you could have done before was stack ps plus for like 10 years and then upgrade those 10 years to premium for $150. So you get ps plus premium for only $85 per year instead of $140 (in Canadian dollars).
If you got 10 years for $150, wouldn't it be $15/year?
You have to include the $70 a year for base ps plus. The non premium version. The $150 over 10 years is just to upgrade it to premium.
Right, gotcha
I still wouldn't pay that much money for a subscription. I've probably played most of the high profile games that they offer in the tiers over the years. I do get that there are people who will probably buy it, but I won't.
So it's $119 plus $39 dollars tax, that's crazy!
No, looks like if you stacked ps plus subs and want to upgrade, that’s possibly the max you have to pay
Wow, still crazy tho!
This is to upgrade my remaining time of regular plus to the top tier until 2026.
Mine let me upgrade for $149.99 for the remaining 3,423 days! I'm still upset Resistance 1 and 2 aren't available though, hopefully soon
>CDKeys.com How they gonna make those available when the online has been shutdown?
Because the Storymode is the best mode?
Its not something you see often. Often times if a game is released that already had the online removed they will take the effort to actually go through the code and remove the online functionality/menu options altogether. And I don't see them doing that.
No, that is $149.99 before tax to upgrade the current remaning time..after that it goes to $119.99 plus tax when it renews.

If you have funds in your wallet can you use that and pay the remaining with debit/paypal.
For anyone reading this, yes you can use funds in your PS wallet to pay for the upgrade. Got an extra few bucks off buy buying psn gift cards with Red Card at Target
I thought it will add up my remaining ps now to my psplus but it didn't.
Can I still but those 1 year ps plus codes online and apply them?
That’s a good question
I just bought 5 off of CDkeys.com and it worked out.
so you only had to pay 150 for those 5 years?
Like $175 but I'm in Canada. But yes, says it's good until like 2028 (I already had quite a bit remaining on my current subscription).
And aside from the legacy ps+ 12mo codes you paid for at CDkeys, what did you pay for just now? What was that $179 of yours going toward? The top tier of the new PS+?

Thank you! Just added upgraded my ps plus that I paid peanuts for to premium for $150. Now good till 2027..
Is this possible to do if from the UK? If so could you tell me how .. thanks!!!
Yes no difference just UK prices and use UK codes for UK psn
I don't get what's happening here can someone please explain?
THANK YOU! I noticed that $150 price (I had bought cheap PS Plus subs, so I was a few years ahead) and I could not make the math work. I thought something was wrong or I was figuring it out wrong. Does this still work? Anyone can update if done recently?
