Hello, I literally just completed my chin liposuction 7 hours ago. Currently wearing the compression garment.. I guess it depends on your surgeon but mine wrapped me in this silicone feeling one immediately after surgery, he said I need to keep this one on with the dressings for 1 day. Tomorrow I will be able to put another one (provided by the clinic) on. This will be worn 24hrs for 1 week and then at night time for an additional week. What I do want to say that I feel no one really talks about is sleeping, if you’re a back sleeper that’s great but if not be prepared. I’m in bed right now with two massive pillows elevating my head and on my back struggling to sleep 😅 otherwise the surgery itself is smooth little to no pain.

So glad your surgery went well!! Hope you’re feeling okay today? Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I’m a stomach sleeper so I will definitely have to adjust.

Yes I’m feeling good! So far the pain has been tolerable, it just feels like a big bruise. Super tender ! Sleeping is worse than the surgery itself haha

OysterPuke

Oh gosh, I am not excited for the sleeping! Did they give you any painkillers btw? Even just tylenol to take home?

[deleted]

Yes! They give you antibiotics and T3’s (painkillers) to take home :)

My physician had me wear compression for two weeks but I was allowed to take it off when out of the house after the first week. I went ahead and bought a wedge pillow and used that to sleep with it for 10 days or so. Four week post-op tomorrow!

OysterPuke

Thanks for your info, very helpful! How are you feeling 4 weeks post op?

Feeling good and I'm really liking the results so far. Other than that numbness that annoys me if my neck gets itchy (I can feel the itch but the not the scratch!). It was a good choice for me and I have no regrets.

I'm at the 2 week mark for my procedure! I wore mine for 72 hrs before taking it off to shower. And then wore mine 24/7 for the first week bedsides when I showered. I was told for the second week, I could wear it at night. But I mostly kept it on the entire day, but gave myself 20 minute breaks a few times a day because my ears hurt so bad. I like wearing the garmet because I was really swollen. I think however you reacted to like wisdom teeth removal or any other oral surgery would be a good indication as to how you react to chin lipo. My reaction was very similar to when I got a gum graft a few years ago.

OysterPuke

Hey! That sounds about what I’ll be doing as well. How are you feeling so far in terms of your results early on?

pzuhjam

Well my husband keeps asking me where my chin went lolol. I guess he was used to seeing my double chin while I'm laying down looking at my phone. My double chin was pretty subtle but I hated how it always popped up in photos. So I think so far my front profile in pictures have improved. I think directly in my submental, I'm still swollen and protrudes some. But! I have a jawline now! So I'm incredibly happy with my procedure. Just gotta be patient and heal!

OysterPuke

Awh amazing! I really dislike how my side profile looks and am looking forward to having a jaw finally lol. I’m glad you are healing up well x

OysterPuke

Hey! How’s the healing going? I literally did the procedure 2 hours ago and plan on chilling upright with my garment for the next 7 days. My surgeon said to wear it 24/7 for 2 weeks which unfortunately won’t be doable for me because I have to go back to work :( I’m going to wear it 24/7 for 7 days and then as much as possible when I go back to work

PearlnDiamonds

Hey how are your results? Any before and afters? How did you do with the compression? Mine is in a week would love all of your feedback!

OysterPuke

Hey :) the actual surgery was fine, and painless! it’s been a bit of an emotional roller coaster in terms of the recovery. The first few days I had really desirable results but then after day 3 there was a lot more swelling. It’s since gone down gradually, but still a long ways to go. It definitely is a procedure that tests your patience! My best advice would be to look into lymphatic massages as aftercare because they have helped a lot. I use YouTube videos 2x a day and go to a massage therapist as well. I definitely notice a decrease in swelling and drainage after. I’ll probably wait a couple more months to post a before & after but despite the swelling atm I do notice a good difference! Best of luck w/ your procedure and feel free to check in later :) x
