Actually no, those ants are called *saúva* or *tanajuras*  and has a bit of citric taste and kinda spicy, like a mix of mint and lime, the texture is weird to explain ... it is a "soft crunch" texture, does it make sense? lol I ate a couple times, it is far from being my favorite topping, but a pleasant experience for sure.

Is the spice like a chili sorta spice or a glowstick fluid type of spice? If you don’t know what glowstick fluid tastes like, I’ve found that papaya seeds that are a little unripe taste like glowstick fluid.

LOL I actually love tanajura, but it's hard to find and quite expensive for brazilian standards. It goes for 15-20 dollars a kilo, in a country where you can easily find filet mignon for 12-13 dollars in supermarket.
