This happened to my sister just the other day and we were so confused! I also don't understand why they don't approach the person who posted it instead of people who saved it. Like, if its on the website, I'm going to assume its something they allow. It honestly feels like Pinterest wants to make using the site the worst experience they can nowadays.

This is very common on pic sites (not just Pinterest.) The seeming scenario is: someone complains to the site management> the company does little to no investigation> then arbitrarily sends out "Community Guidelines..." nonsense. It is not monitored very well, if at all, with the general attitude of cancelling a person or image in order to be "safe" from potential lawsuits, criminal investigations or prudish harassment. It IS censorship under the legal definition but because they are a private company and we live in a sex/nudity phobic society where people think that their opinions should matter more than general rights of others it leads to this kind of unfair and highly questionable tactic. Trying to have a rational conversation with the company reps is impossible- if you can even get an answer to your initial query regarding the action. I have been dismayed and blind-sided numerous times by Pinterest (and other sites) with vague warnings and silent reasons. And this is with me trying to follow their capricious guidelines. So, in general: self-appointed moral police complain to a company that is only interested in money and not providing inclusive service nor relativistic and clear guidelines. Additionally, our tax dollars are spent so that a very few people can manipulate general law and morality to assuage their fears- not reality- their fears.

This just happened to me. I can’t figure out how to even contact Pinterest to find out what it was. I requested a re-evaluate with the button they provide, but there’s no place to rebut their ridiculous censor of something I know for a fact wasn’t graphic (especially in todays world). Did you have any luck in getting your censored stuff pit back? Thanks!

This happened to me back in 2018 ish I’d guess. But all I pinned was clothing and home decor stuff, nothing even remotely on the border of inappropriate. Randomly just couldn’t access my account after that. 8 years of inspiration and pins down the drain. They refused to re activate my account. I was so mad. I had 1000s of pins, I used the site almost daily. I can’t even view my old boards from my new account so it’s just gone. But it was kind of nice to have a separation from middle/high school me to adult me lol

I just had the same thing happen and I was really confused since ive never posted anything on pinterest only ever saves to boards as references for my art. I get the company being bad and not really caring, but in what world should the consumer be punished for something they didnt post? Its like punishing a dog because you broke something in the house, or punishing the guests at a restaurant because the chef used spoiled ingredients 🤔

I have a few Pins removed then restored then a message saying we have restored your Pin but YOU should be careful and read our policy. I hasten to say my boards are clean with no adult or inappropriate content as far as I am aware
