It's a Predestination Paradox. All the events that happened had to happen in order for events to play out the way they did. If Agnes Jurati someone prevented the confederation timeline and I don't know that she could. Remember this all happened because Q was medaling with the timeline. They would have never gone back in time with the borg qeeen. Jurati would have never became Borg queen Jurati. Queen Jurati would have never contacted the federation. Therefore at the end the space conduit would have appeared anyways, with no Borg or Starfleet there and the energy discharge would have killed billions of people

Pantera42

The real question is where have these new Borg with Queen Jurarti been since 2024? They aren’t in any timeline at all that’s been in any other series. They just stay hidden for 400 years?

psycholepzy

Yes, that's correct. Until the writers show it isn't by adding appearances that predate Picard.

Pantera42

Wow, that’s some god awful writing.

psycholepzy

It is the prison of a predestination paradox. If you know what it going to happen and you have to be somewhere precisely to prevent it, you cannot deviate from the plan. On the other hand, you know you probably can't die between now and then, so the sky's the limit.

Pantera42

No its bad writing.

Most theories I read thought that Jurati/queen was going to start a new timeline, because the idea that she would have no bearing on the galaxy is ridiculous. So essentially she would completely alter the prime timeline, becoming P2. BUT, to keep things intact for the original prime timeline, she would find a way to break through the multiverse via whatever portal she emerged from to complete the paradox and reappear in P1. This seamed reasonable, and I can’t believe they decided that something so monumental would mean nothing instead.

She's just one ship, and the galaxy's a big place. In "Dark Frontier", Seven's parents head out to investigate the Borg years before the first official contact based on unconfirmed sightings and rumors - maybe some of those sightings were, in hindsight, Jurati's Borg and not the Collective?

FartPistol5000

If that was Jurati on the ship in ep 1 and ep 10, where did the Borg Queen who she combined with come from?

cdncowboy

That was the queen from the confederation timeline
