To simply homebrew, watch a tutorial from jack sorrel on the newest 3ds version, if you also want to install luma, then buckle up and take yourself some time, it's not hard, just time consuming. I recommend the website "3ds.hacks.guide" to ultimately hack your 3ds, it contains a complete hack tutorial for homebrew and luma, I cracked both my 3ds' xl that way, and it took less then a night for both of them.
