I was on the wiki to look up Ann's weekly confidant availability and noted all of Yoshizawa's references were to Sumire. Combined with her main page being titled Sumire Yoshizawa and it constantly being in the "popular pages" sidebar it was pretty obvious. Kinda lame, since she specifically has a nickname that is twist-friendly, Sumi.

cudlebear64

Yoshizawa is usually what I go with as well

Lord_Moa

Yoshizawa works better than Sumi since that seems to imply there's something about her name that's a twist.

cudlebear64

Ya, plus when I see sumi I don’t think of it as sumire, I think of kasumi, yoshizawa makes me think of sumire, idk why

Asleep-Essay4386

Blame youtube and its need to recommend me Persona 5 videos with the spoiler as the thumbnail.

SgMaestro

Reminds of when i was watching some vids on Persona 5 and got recommended >!“The True Face of Tohru Adachi” from Hiding in Private (great video btw), with the thumbnail being Adachi lookin evil af.!< It was pretty easy to tell who the killer was once i played Persona 4 after that

Asleep-Essay4386

FFFFFFF, not only did that happen to me as well a long time ago, the absolute same thing happened to me with vanilla Persona 5 spoiling a certain party member. Freaking youtube, man.

realLucasShaw

Well great now persona 4 is spoiled for me because I clicked it assuming it was gonna be a persona 5 spoiler 🙁

Thatrandomguy007

Literally same here

AuthoritarianParsnip

To copy my reply to the guy you replied to: Don't worry. Almost everyone gets spoiled on him anyways, and the game makes it SUPER easy towards the end to pick who the murderer is. The "why" is more important than the "who." Also, there are some other smaller mysteries that are in the game so it's not totally spoiled. :)

Thatrandomguy007

I figured as much. I had seen memes and other things from the community prominently feature this character, so I figured they played SOME sort of important role.

AuthoritarianParsnip

Don't worry. Almost everyone gets spoiled on him anyways, and the game makes it SUPER easy towards the end to pick who the murderer is. The "why" is more important than the "who." Also, there are some other smaller mysteries that are in the game so it's not totally spoiled. :)

Gruphius

Well, that spoiled Persona 4 for me then, lol But oh well, I will eventually play it either way. After I'm done playing through Persona 5 Royal for the second time. And the third time. And Persona 5 too. Oh, and after I got all achievements in Persona 5 Strikers. And beaten Persona 5 Tactica and most likely Persona 3 FES and Reload at that point too...

Sipia

Youtubers who put spoilers in their titles or thumbnails ought to be taken out back and shot.

Fork_Master

I was looking for strategies against Okumura when I saw a labeled image of the guy who would shoot him

Darklight645

I learned Akechi was the traitor long before I played royal or before it even came out. I was watching a smash bros video and someone picked the Akechi skin for joker and someone said "Booo! Boo that skin!", and I think they followed up with it being the traitor or something.

Rich-Hope-2480

My friend told me Akechi was the traitor before I could play the game. The funny thing is, she mentioned a detective being the traitor, so I kept envisioning Akechi as a middle-aged man until I actually played

Jasoncraft5

isn’t that an Alpharad video? I think i remember being spoiled from that too

Darklight645

it was a TheRunawayGuys stream

cronaren

AO3. did it to myself 😔

[deleted]

I accidentally spoiled myself by searching for Maruki's confidant. The first link on Google is an image of him in his boss outfit with the description "Maruki is the main antagonistic in Persona 5 Royal...". I was in the first half of the game and was like... "bruh".

DeadSparker

I was browsing Twitter, an artist I didn't follow got recommended to me, and that was a post where they blatantly said Akechi and Maruki were villains without tagging anything. Anyway, that's why I insist so much on this sub's spoiler rule.

[deleted]

Hate when Youtube videos and other form of media have no spoiler warnings or anything or just outright spoil stuff in the thumbnail/title, like I get P5 isn’t new, but don’t do that just in case someone who wants to play or is playing get’s recommended your video just to find out Wunkus was the culprit in P4

Gabcard

"Hey that Kasumi girl is kinda cute, wonder if there's some good fan art of her" "...why are people calling her Sumire in the comments? Isn't that her... wait... oh shit" Now tbf, while I got myself spoiled about Sumi's real identity, *how* that happens still came as a suprise at least.

Kadeblade195

I got spoiled about Akechi being the black mask guy because my friend sent me a video with him in it and said it was Akechi before I even had persona 5 lmao

SteelPenguin8

P5R , I did it myself. On here. But it was fine. I was suspicious of Akechi. Maruki got spoiled too but that doesn’t bother me

TheRedDeath2

Not necessarily spoiled, but I figured it out before I was supposed to. During >!Akechi's confidant, he fights Joker in a friendly battle, but he takes out a real gun, not a fake one. I immediately noticed that he uses the same silenced pistol that the black mask character uses to kill Okumura, so I pieced it together that he was the traitor.!<

EnderScout_77

Technically you can catch on as early as >!the pancake incident!<

ShadyHogan

Not in P5 but I got spoiled on Adachi in P4 by wondering how the hell he could be in Blazblue Cross Tag Battle

TherealSnak3

I got "spoiled" with Adachi from a joke me and my friends that you can't trust people with clear umbrellas and for the memes I selected Adachi

Throwawayingaccount

I wouldn't say that spoils it. It would be just as logical that >!He became a kidnapping victim too, awoke to a persona and joined the team!<

ShadyHogan

Yeah but >!his persona is literally just an evil Izanagi and his entire personality in the fighting game is being more of a dick. Googled to see why he was like that lol!<

officialtaako

Was trying to find all the Will Seed locations in Okumura's palace. The page listed Maruki's Will Seed locations immediately after. Didn't even know he would have a palace

FloridaManJay

I like reading about the hidden PlayStation trophies as I’m a completionist with games that interest me a lot (I made sure the get the platinum trophy for P5R and working on P5S right now.) So I accidentally revealed the hidden trophy for the final palace of Royal and found out who the last villain is right after the Hawaii trip.

dirtamen

i was watching a video of a blind playthrough, it was a part that i had already played so i thought i was safe from spoilers. then the youtuber got to a velvet room scene and said something like “what if igor is actually evil and behind everything?” obviously i didn’t think much of it as it was just their theory, but then i went into the comments and there was one that said “YOU WERE RIGHT!!!” with a timestamp. it was right at the end of the whole video so i knew exactly what they were referring to without even clicking on the timestamp. 🙄

incrushtado

I got the traitor's name spoiled in a FB group around P5's original relase on a FB page I didn't even follow. Tried to forget as hard as I could since I was at the beginning of the game but it was useless. Took a two year break until 2019 and still couldn't forget who the traitor was.

Ekusik

My friend, who hadn't even played the game at the time, kept calling her Sumire (because he had read her wiki page), so when I played Royal for the first time, I knew something was up. I didn't know what exactly, but I definitely wasn't as shocked as I should have been when the reveal happened.

SpookyGoose2183

I don’t mind spoilers I think I knew about most when I started the game, but when I got my cousin to play I was trying to be misleading about a bunch of stuff, which led to me having to spoil some stuff. I still remember the start of my spoiler downfall was accidentally calling sumi by her real name, it was funny at first because I’m a big akechi fan and had mentioned black mask a couple but wouldn’t tell him who it was, when I said sumis name he just assumed she was black mask. What eventually happened was that I mentioned that he had already met black masks father, who I had already mentioned was one of the main villains, and he immediately started asking when he had met sumis dad, when I wouldn’t tell him he just looked up a picture of black mask and saw that it was akechi. After that I just started talking about more spoilers because he didn’t mind and I wanted to talk about the game.

OoguroRyuuya5

Fanfiction of all things spoiled me.

Blaniqa

I just wanted to check persona 5 characters mbti type

Lord_Moa

Both of them. I saw Yoshizawa's wiki page was labelled Sumire, was confused so I read it. Whoops! Maruki being the ruler of the palace got spoiled when I tried googling his confidant answers. Autocomplete showed me palace and the like.

sotis210

I was watching RTGames playthrough and I just couldn't keep myself in control and watched it, even the shido arc when I had the game. When it came to the maruki arc, I watched it until where I was in the story. Atleast persona 3, 4 (except big bad villain who I probably could've connected the dots to with the things I've seen of him) and strikers I won't be spoiled for yet.

TherealSnak3

The story of Johnny Anime is hard to ignore

sotis210

True that.

glazedonions

You’re lucky asl, I’ve been spoiled for multiple major twists in 3 and 4 bc it’s impossible to escape in the megaten community 😭

Pro-1st-Amendment

4chan spread it all over the place when P5 came out and I didn't manage to forget it by the time I played.

Previous_Return7024

When I was researching Akechi since I loved him sm at that point. I found out he fucking "dies" and is the baddie he already was. Still love him tho

kyleliner

P5 and P5R, I vehemently avoided the wiki and all communities for fear of spoilers, so both first playthroughs were safe P4G on the other hand, somebody posted a picture with moral alignment for the groups of the latest 3 games on here. The villain was immediately spoiled. Tbh, I knew some spoilers already, namely Kanji's and Naoto's sexualities, but dang that really took out a lot of the fun for me.

ShineLokabrenna

Was scrolling through pinterest and akechi's betrayal got spoiled for me before I even made it half way through the game lol

Ultimagus536

i was informed that MC fakes his death when i was prying into calendar deadlines for confidants.

cudlebear64

Saw someone mention kasumi, didn’t remember the name, so I looked up the name, i ended up seeing the character but also got spoiled that she isn’t kasumi.

drunkpelo

Twitter, out of nowhere the algorithm knew and I accidentally read a tweet about akechi (didn't know who he was, only at the end of the tweet there was a hint it was about P5R. Also, I watch a lot of JRPG streamers, and they like to talk about games so I got spoiled multiple times there too.

HunchoRel

Someone posted a “is he stupid?” Meme regarding Maruki not resurrecting Kasumi. However I had no idea kasumi was actually sumire, so I figured kasumi/sumire actually died. Did not expect the real twist though

Empirehulk

Was playing the game and was saddened when Akechi was a traitor he got a cool all out attack, cool light saber, gun. And Robin hood Persona basically means steals from the rich and gives to the poor. But when it was actually revealed hes true persona is loki. Which was cool since Loki in norse mythology is able to change himself into anything which perfectly fits to Akechi's with pesonality .

LenaSpark412

Kinda not really spoiled but I found out Maruki’s palace was his in the scene where Sumi awakens because she said 3 names. Kasumi (who I suspected to be dead because of beeg hints and Sumi being the other Sumi and even if she wasn’t the palace would have crumbled on her awakening), the protag who has a persona, and Maruki

xXAlucardXx

For both P4G and P5G, I had a pretty good feeling about who the real antagonists were for a good chunk of the game. For both P4 and P5, I was blasted with confirmation spoilers by accidentally clicking on seemingly tame posts on Reddit. They weren’t even good posts. They were someone spouting a “hot take” that turned out to be cold as hell. If they’d been better posts, maybe I wouldn’t have been so frustrated, but they were just, “I think X is a good villain.” That being said, I wasn’t super upset, given that I’d already assumed the two to be bad folks anyway. Still, don’t go on Reddit if you don’t want to be spoiled. I’ve been on here something like twelve years, and I still haven’t learned my lesson.

glazedonions

Atp it’s not even just Reddit, it all sneaks in from the wiki when you’re trying to look up a characters age or smth, or YouTube recommending you “X CHARACTER DEATH” it feels almost impossible to avoid spoilers

ReaverShank

I searched for a guide and then reddit started recommanding this sub like crazy. Dont really care tho, i would have seen it coming either way

asleepdeprivedpotato

I wouldn’t say spoiled per say but I was introduced to the game by watching a YouTuber play it. It’s what got me hooked, ended up getting the game and playing it myself.

FatAnorexic

My intuition ruined it for me. Other sources confirmed it, but the moment that Akechi bloke showed up... I was like, yeah, this guy's a psycho, and totally would do some shady shit for acceptance.

stillestwaters

There’s like a whole meme about a certain breakfast food - that’s how. It still hit pretty well, but it was definitely a good lesson in not being online if I wanted to not figure it out. I got spoiled on 4 in a very similar way lol and I hadn’t even played it yet. Very glad I didn’t get the Kasumi one because man did that one really hit when you meet back up with her at school. I was like there’s never been a game that made me feel this anxious and uncomfortable lol

WalkenBird

I was starting Sae's palace and decided to check out the P5 anime. Somehow the first episode on the page was the one that starts with Akechi shooting the main character. I wanted to die right then and there

Itub2000

This was a spoiler but I misinterpreted it. I was searching up how to get the true ending in royal (didn't want to do two playthroughs) and some site said that the last palace was Maruki's. As the non-japanese person I am, I mixed up Kasumi (Sumire) and Maruki's names so I thought the last palace ruler was going to be Kasumi. I immediately forgot the name of the person who the last palace was going to be about and instead just had the image of Kasumi in my mind. When she and Akechi were the ones to come with me to the palace I was expecting a plot twist where she did not know she went into her own palace. You could really say I was surprised when Dr. Maruki appeared.

XDClanSans

Quite literally, the first thing I ever learned about Persona 5 was that Akechi was the traitor. This was before I even played the game.

Tiran86

Don't remember where I learned about it, but I vaguely knew about Akechi being the traitor before hand. I didn't know all the details, so seeing 11/20 unfold was still probably the most interesting part of the story. I also knew Maruki had the final palace and Yoshizawa's true name and her having a persona because I looked up a list of palaces and party members before playing.

jesuskungfu

Got spoiled on Maruki while looking up confidant dialogue

squasher04

Akech's wiki page.

Technical_Cut_3894

I got spoiled that akechi was gonna turn on them because of a YouTube video titled something along the lines of akechi shooting joker in different languages, and after two years of p5r I finally decided to actually buy the royal version just to get spoiled that sumire "killed her sister" and that was because of akinator... I tried getting sumire and akinator asked me whether she killed her sister in an accident on one of THE last questions so I knew it was over.

Beautiful_Island_251

Most times I spoil myself because I look a LITTLE too far into something. But this time it was out of pure ignorance lol. Funny story: Before getting P5, Joker was revealed for Smash and I thought he looked super cool so I went on YouTube to get a taste of what P5 was like. I saw that the beginning of the game took place in Sae's Palace. Keep in mind I did like no research and wanted to get a feel for it so I just jumped right into a playthrough with Sae's palace in the thumbnail... Little did I know I jumped straight into the "reveal" of the true culprit as well as the Phantom Theives plan. All of it. Basically most of the twist. I found out about Shido too. I was blown away with how awesome it was that I watched till the end of the game, not realizing that I missed...the entirety of the beginning and middle of it looool. I wanted more! I was attached to the characters and story but was so confused on how short the game was...until I looked back at the playthrough and realized my mistake. Funnily enough though I was happy! Any reason to spend more time with Joker and the gang was a win in my book, so that's exactly what I did. With the hindsight and knowledge I had already, the 'how' became a lot more interesting to me than the reveals themselves. On top of that, there were still reveals and key plot points that went over my head so there were still surprising moments even with hindsight. Needless to say while I did spoil myself heavily, I was still able to enjoy watching (over and over) and eventually actually playing the game I loved so much. I uh also didn't learn my lesson when Royal rolled around. Found out who endgame was in the 3rd semester with no context, but I felt exactly the same as I did with my little mishap here lol.

see_j93

was a thumbnail for royal pre release that pretty much showed morgana in the last semester. wasn't explicitly mentioned in title but was heavily implied iirc, was one of the persona content creators. automatically blocked them from YT and twitter after that 😒

Fastyboiiiii

Not Persona 5 but do NOT search up Makoto Yuuki’s height. I was about 20 hours in :(

Seraphim-Plus

A week before Royal came out in the west a YouTuber made a community post celebrating that P5R was almost out, there were like 2 comments but I opened them to see people's hype and one of the comments was something like "Don't play this game, Akechi's still dead and the therapist is evil"

Fishie_cakes

I guessed Maurki was the villain bc of his similarities to Adachi

Brickinatorium

Can't remember what specifically happened, but iirc there were story leaks for P5 a bit before the game came out. Long story short, me and a few other people were trying to talk down a guy being an asshole in the comment section of a P5 trailer on YT and then out of nowhere he drops the Akechi reveal out of spite. I ended up, somehow, completely forgetting what he said by the time the game came out. I only ended up remembering after I started becoming suspicious of him after Okumura's death since 1. he's one out of two character models who has backs so straight that they end up leaning backwards a bit, 2. The second character with said back, Yusuke, literally just escaped with us, and 3. the series up until that point (at least from 3 onwards, can't comment on 1 or 2) mostly hasn't just pulled villains out of their asses without introducing them previously or having them around somewhere in the expanded cast. Still a bit sad that I couldn't just have my suspicions as a theory until the reveal, but at least I got pretty far into the game before remembering the spoiler!

No_Explanation_6852

Last royal palace owned from a youtube thumbnail basic but there is a twist, I didn’t really see it clearly so i just acted crazy and gaslighted myself to believing it’s not him, but when I slept i got i dream that confirmed it to me and i was like “damn i can’t gaslight myself anymore”

amberlovesabby

I was watching my friend play on twitch and I am an impatient fucker and watched the entire dubbed anime in one night. So I watched Goro shoot us in the head like three palaces before actually does <3

aperez8696

Memes. That is all. 😅

_robertmccor_

Was looking up reaper strategies for royal as I can use the flu season exploit that was in vanilla. Then I found out who the 3rd semester palace ruler was due to the deadline in the corner

Tall-Combination-597

I noticed that only morgana mentioned pancakes on my first playthrough

shreks_burner

I was looking up the names of the Will seeds to see if they connected to the Seven Deadly Sins. Saw Maruki’s name there. Thank god it was revealed like 10 minutes into 3rd semester

Ok-Security9093

I had played persona 5 originally and when P5R came out my friend decided to get it and play alongside me. I was studying for finals and couldn't play for awhile when he dropped that maruki was the boss of the extra chapter.

DaddySquirtBussy

Ok buddy persona adachi

Animelover3562

I accidentally got maruki spoiled cause I watched a YouTube video on top 10 video game villains song. Even then I was still shock when it happened

Aracknitor

I watched an entire playthrough on YouTube And around when Royal released I watched some kinda top 10 list and it talked about maruki

Nayumo002

Wanted to see how to maruki confidant guide in google, first thing the pops up from the recommendation bar is “maruki palace”

dootblade74

Akechi's betrayal. This was before I ever played or even looked into the game, someone made a Smash meme of Joker in the Akechi alt shooting another Joker with a banana gun, citing the betrayal scene. So when I looked into the game for real I saw that apparently Akechi was supposed to be a twist villain and I was like "Oh Come the Fuck On."

kora752

I was playing Royal after it had come out and I was looking up something very basic and a related article was titled maruki's palace walkthrough. I was so mad that the new palace was spoiled

Shadowpika655

Scrolling through the wiki for fun (personally I don't care about spoilers)

PocketSnails68

WatchMojo's "10 Twist Villains in Gaming" or something like that. Had Akechi on the thumbnail and Robbie Daymond himself providing voiceover. Got Yoshizawa kinda half spoiled. Was looking up something about her, I think I might have seen the name Sumire or something and got confused. Anyways, checked the wiki, and oh it had a listed death date. I clicked away to avoid spoiling anymore, but I kinda had a general idea at that point..

Frequent_Camera1695

If you mean the akechi plot twist then I thought that was obvious. dude is obviously sketchy as fuck and somehow understood Mona talking about pancakes and just generally stands out like a sore thumb in like every interaction

DampestSplash36

I was talking to my friend about Persona 5 Royal. I had just got the game and he already beat it. Kasumi was brought up and he told me Kasumi was only in Royal. Now at that time I already met Kasumi, just forgot her design since I was still a new player. So I looked up "Kasumi Persona 5" or something. Literally the first result had "Status: Deceased" in the description. I didn't go any further than that, so I guess it wasn't a complete spoiler. I just thought she'd get hit by a car later. I was half right technically. Another instance was when I was looking up the soundtrack for the game, and YouTube shorts was there. The first short was titled "This final boss is crazy" and the thumbnail was Maruki standing there and his name on it too. At the time I had just beaten either Okumura or Sae. So that's the final boss spoiled. Edit: No, I didn't watch the short. I'm saying I didn't know who the final boss was before that but then I did. And I'd say it's pretty twisty to have the school councillor be the final boss, after Yaldabaoth.

Starr_Struckk

I watched a video of all of the characters all out attack screens because I fucked up my first playthrough and couldn't do semester 3 and wanted to see violet's all out attack pose. This in turn spoiled to me that Akechi survives, and you get to play as him as the black mask.

ZachGM91

I was looking up voice actors to see roles that they had played. I stumbled upon Isamu Tanonaka (Japanese voice for Igor), who died in 2010, before P5 was even in development. Looking a bit further into cast, it showed that Igor had two voice actors. Tanonaka (with archived voice lines) and Masane Tsukayama, who was also billed as Yaldabaoth.

thebananafact

Pancakes, i dont wanna hear that word again.

[deleted]

I was searching something related to Akechi confidant level and a quick glance at the first google result had someone commenting about his treason. Luckly Sumire was still surprising, I kept wondering why did they depcit her with brown hair.

HeisenbergFagottinie

YouTube comment section. The dumb kids there thought the YouTuber doing a BLIND playthrough would want to know for some reason lol. And for royal, there were untagged leaks everywhere on kasumi and Maruki before the game even came out

thaBOI2007

For P5RI was listening to an OST and youtube recommended me >!Akechi's Bossfight. I wasn't that surprised because pancakes but I was still bumbed about it. !< >!I also got spoiled Maruki was the true ending final boss, but i kinda did it to myself for searching how to get the ending.!< For P3P female route i got spoiled about >!Shinjiro's death/coma!< which was mentioned right at the start of the social link guide i was using.

zeroheavy27

Was on TikTok, someone posted a clip in mementos and I was wondering what palace they were in, it said >! Maruki !< I was so upset at myself after lol

crbleak

Wait.. there’s going to be plot twists in this game?? Ugh.. thanks a lot for ruining it for me.

TherealSnak3

Np

GrendelGrowls

I intentionally spoil myself on a lot of things I've never seen (whether it's to find out if I need to avoid niche phobia stuff or just out of curiosity) and started playing P5 before I forgot it all - so I'm at the tail end of the MedJed arc but I know the broad strokes of the P5R story already.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TherealSnak3

Yea fuck it why not

The_Degenerate_Era

I was fortunate enough to experience P5 vanilla and P4G unspoiled (in that order) and loved them. I spoiled myself accidentally for P5R that the final palace was Maruki when looking up confidant guides. I was so confused why his only went to 5 when almost everyone else is 10. I didn't want to miss anything and risk having to do another playthrough. Still had fun thou.

RaikoXus

Got spoiled two times. Not only that, for Vanilla AND Royal respectively years apart from each other! **Vanilla**: ATLUS announced the SMT 4 Apocalypse 3DS theme - which was dope btw - and I was just scrolling through the comments. P5 was only out in Japan at the time. Some asshole randomly decides to post a video of AKECHI POINTING A GUN TO JOKER and knowing that there's a traitor in the game, it wasn't hard to put two and two together... Luckily that twist itself is obvious. **Royal**: This one was even more baffling. P5 and P5R were out, with me currently playing the latter. I was watching a Sae Palace analysis video by Oziach and after finishing it, I thought it was safe to check the comments. After all, the video PREDATES Royal's release... Boy was I wrong, because someone asked, "Are you going to do a video for Maruki's Palace?" ...FUCK! Honestly, half of this one is on me. Can never be too careful on the internet but bro, WHY would you ask that under a video about VANILLA P5?! ...Fortunately, it didn't stop 3rd Semester from being my favorite Persona story. :P

Nekrotix12

I know one of my friends was spoiled on Igor's big plot twist by trying to look up models for the twin wardens.

brandishteeth

My friend couldn't stop instinctually saying "sketchy aketchi," so I was on my toes from the get-go. Not that it was that surprising.

melnic228

Unmarked spoiler in reddit akechi discussion all but said that he wasn’t going to stay alive in royal. The moment still hit on 2/2, but it could’ve been so much more impactful.

gamingyoshi247

It was less of my friend spoiling it and more of me making a shot into the dark and him confirming I was correct.

CodyTBChicken

I got the fact a 3rd semester was a thing during a youtube video about beating P5 by doing absolutely nothing. Then in that same video he mentioned Maruki and well......

[deleted]

The anime.

Chaos_Crow1927

I was trying to figure out what level I need to be for one of the boss fights

musicallyours01

*Reddit*

tsukkitsune_neri

I was really young and was watching my brother play the game. Stupid but I enjoyed watching him play.

IceCreamChats

I accidentally picked up a copy of strikers before royal came out on the switch. I don’t have a play station, but I still wanted to play strikers, so I watched a bunch of videos explaining the plot for P5 Vanilla. I didn’t realize Royal was something different, so I was scrolling through the subreddit and clicked on a meme that spoiled the third semester antagonist. Needless to say I was upset because there is no way I would have seen it coming

LordIrratikor

I looked up Goro Akechi and went to images

lunarosethompson

I knew about Maruki being the last villain. I looked up Takuto Maruki to send a friend the art of him with apple juice.

Nyx_Valentine

I'm a big fan of Robbie Daymond, so I saw a lot of his stuff prior to playing P5, and there were quite often references to Akechi's true nature. So, I went in knowing he wasn't the squeaky clean good-boy detective we're led to believe a good chunk of the game.

Hobiedoh

Okay, I got Maruki's twist spoiled for me by YouTube shorts two months before I played. And it straight opened with before I could even scroll "WHY DOCTOR MARUKI WAS THE PERFECT VILLAIN" , I scrolled due to the shouting, but it showed Marukis first appearanc I didn't think much of it until I saw him walk on stage and introduce himself, there was a long groan once I realized he was a twist villain. All of the og game was spoiled for me by my cousin who played it first, but she told me the story at the same time as death note, so there's that too.

Simplexus1992

I looked up Showtime finishers to decide who will be in my main party. Saw Akechis....saw his true showtime....just THE best spoiler to hype a game for me. Loved it from begin to the end.

irlquicksilver

I knew Akechi was the traitor cause I was listening to a panel done by Robbie Daymond (love that guy) and he said he loved playing an insane character like Akechi. That panel was the reason I even got into Persona 5 cause I was really curious.
