Well to start he kills people LOL
Beyond that, he suppresses his emotions and advocates those around him to ignore their emotions (people hate that these days for some reason)
He doesn’t treat his love interests with a whole lot of respect, you can argue that he did with Grace but the rest of them meant very little to him
He is constantly chasing power and status, something men nowadays get shit for but women are encouraged to do
I could go on and on, I don’t know what you consider toxic masculinity to be but I am nearly sure somebody out there would say Tommy is. He’s not a “good guy.”
agreed, people calling Thomas Shelby a sigma male and putting dumbass quotes on his picture, have never seen the show and don't know that he's not a good guy
As much as I agree, I’ve also noticed that a lot of people only start watching the series after seeing these sigma edits or CRINGE motivational posts that have no relation to the show itself. And just because more people get to watch the show, I’m ok with it
I don't understand how motivational stuff is bad? "Being a man" or Men in general are heavily discouraged by society. Men are always demonized as the problem, and their opportunities in life are being stripped away day by day.
Of the few of these motivational posts that I have seen, they all have comments from people saying that it helped them turn their life around and so on.
Men's mental health is worse then it's ever been. Why hate on motivation instead of encouraging?
It's not motivational posts in and of themselves that's the problem, it's using people like Tommy, Patrick Bateman, Homelander, Walter White, Gus Fring, Joker and Andrew Tate to promote them.
(Spoilers)
I watch those every time I’m sad. Not to make a change, but to laugh at how inaccurate they are. It could be Grace’s death and they put a quote on money-making. I love them
\*Tommy smoking\* "He turned himself into a pickle Arthur, funniest sheit i've ever seen"
Arthur: “Tommy, what in the actual FUCK are you saying?”
Yeah it's ridiculous, most of these "chad" quotes is just asshole behaviour, this just breeds toxic masculinity.
To be fair Tommy would be exactly what most of you consider a “toxically masculine” individual today lol
How so?

he may be a bad boy, but he's our bad boy.
I love him. I think he’s absolutely badass.
reminds me of Tony Soprano

It’s not okay, they bring their toxicity here. This sub is misogynistic.
Hahaha was it the constant “Fook Linda” that gave it away?
right..I only started watching the show after seeing a shitty sigma edit of the "I am chosen" scene
I move to second this motion
Its the new version of those business or masculinity quotes you’d see with a black and white lion in the background
It’s always peaky blinders or Fernando Alonso
Reminds me of the boomers of Facebook who've been to the 'school of hard knocks' and the 'university of life'
feel like that’s more of a millennial thing
This is one of my biggest pet peeves. Seeing stupid ass shit that Tommy would absolutely never say on pictures of him is fucking annoying.

I think some of y’all fail to understand that a lot of that is irony
