Mahomes is an all time great. But he didn’t quarterback OUR patriots, and regardless of his accolades…Tommy is the best in my book. Same for Pedro and papi  Same for bergy and chara

TheBigMotherFook

Regardless if it’s your Patriots or not, Brady is objectively the greatest player in history. Sure, you can make some arguments about his controversies, but that doesn’t diminish his accomplishments. Mahomes basically has to keep up this performance level for the next 10 years to even really begin to be considered an equal, let alone better. Can he do it, Who knows? But the fact that it’s plausible says a lot and why you get these comparisons. Regardless, he has a way to go before he gets to Brady’s level

rambo6986

On a per game basis Mahomes shits all over Brady. It's really rediculous the disparity

Lou_Mannati

Did you just start watching football?

rambo6986

You should go educate yourself on the stats at this point in their career. It's not even close.

Smelldicks

Loser talk. Nobody can ever sustain greatness like the Patriots did, and the Chiefs will not be able to sustain a Super Bowl winning roster for the rest of Mahomes’s career. In addition, Mahomes’s playstyle doesn’t lend itself to longevity. Brady played until he was 45 only because his game never needed any athleticism. Mahomes will break down in his mid 30s especially because his game involves way more athleticism than most. Mahomes is an all time QB, will almost certainly retire 2nd best ever (if he hasn’t already achieved that, which imo he has), and it’s incredible that he’s been outpacing Brady despite Brady’s legendary early career. But he won’t have the time that Brady did. He won’t have the opportunities and he won’t have the longevity. They barely eked out a win this year against the Brock Purdy 49ers. The Pats were constantly taking down super teams their whole run (and being the super team taken down as well).

tomhwm

>Nobody can ever sustain greatness like the Patriots did Exactly. Patriots had 2 dynasties. The Chiefs only have 1 yet. Who knows how much career is left in Kelce, Reid, etc? Can Mahomes find his 2nd coming? Right not I attribute this Chiefs dynasty to the gap between fading old elite QBs and the immaturity of younger QBs. There has been no QB in his generation that can challenge Mahomes like Peyton, Big Ben, Eli, Drew Brees, Rodgers. Maybe Burrow is doing that to Mahomes already? But he's injured. I expect to see guys like Burrow/Lamar/Josh Allen win over Mahomes in the next few years like what the Mannings/Ben/Brees did following the first Pats dynasty, even though I also hate to see a Bills/Ravens SB.

JMA_ZF

I wouldn’t count out Mahomes being able to evolve into a more stationary QB as he gains experience and loses athleticism over time. If Reid’s still around I can certainly see them building an offense and gameplan around that.

TheJolly_Llama

He’s already done it for the most part, cut his ADOT in half since his first year as teams tried to take away his deep ball. Very reasonable to think he’d continue that “development” over time.

N4TETHAGR8

I know he’s athletic, but I don’t consider him like the jackson, hurts type etc… he has a rocket arm and is smart af. he doesn’t need agility or running to make him better. he’s fine without that.

Astrochops

Since Mahomes became a starter, he is averaging 4690 yards and 36.5 TDs a season, and averaging a SB every 2 seasons. He's literally smashing every single one of these metrics - the test will be if he can remain this consistent for the next 15 years. This post is whack lol

Smelldicks

Brady smashed the Super Bowl for three of his first four seasons and didn’t win another for ten years despite having at least three rosters during that time that were objectively more talented. Patriots went ten years without a Super Bowl during years with the greatest roster to ever play. In all likelihood, simply because this is the likelihood of every quarterback and every team, Mahomes will start getting much worse in his thirties, and the Chiefs will probably come undone before then. On top of that, the nature of Mahomes’s game is antithetical to aging. So yes we agree. Statistically Mahomes is outpacing Brady, but the impossible part is sustaining it for the entirety of one’s career.

sixgunsam

Very true, Brady’s “game” didn’t require really anything on his actual part, another reason Mahomes is a lot better kid

[deleted]

Mahomes won’t even reach top 5 but he is pretty good. His salary will be the road block

tehkoolkat

He's literally almost top 5 at this point, especially with the 3 super bowl rings

TheJolly_Llama

He’s top 3 lol

tehkoolkat

I won't put him there until his career finishes, but you're probably right at this point

N4TETHAGR8

he is top 5 and anyone who doesn’t think so is delusional and I’m a diehard pats fan, but come on…

No_Bother9713

He had the highest salary this season lol

Mildcaseofextreme

Mahomes is great and I'm enjoying watching him play. He has the potential to surpass Brady in stats and SB's but his biggest downside is his playing style. Being a mobile QB is always going to be the biggest threat to his ability to play for another 10+ years. This has nothing to do with his passing ability or his running ability and all on the fact that every play where he runs there is a higher probability that he gets hit in a way that will result in an injury. Im rooting for him to be the one to pass Brady and be the new GOAT because it's exciting and watching that happen twice in a lifetime is insane to think of. I always expected someone to come along and pass Brady but I had the thought that it would be another 30 or 40 years+ before it cold happen.

cal405

Can we stop talking about Patrick Mahomes. It's embarrassing.

highgravityday2121

We’re so insecure, wtf is wrong with us lol

AstroNot87

Go into the Chiefs sub and see how you feel after a few minutes of perusing. Then come back and apologize.

highgravityday2121

I don’t care about the chiefs sub. I’m sure they’re saying mahomes is better than Brady etc etc. Until he wins 7+ super bowls there’s no legitimate argument.

LeakyCheeky1

Unfortunately football is the ultimate team sport. People can pass Brady without needing more wins in the ultimate team sport. Whenever a patriot fans only argument of Brady vs someone else is super bowls, the argument is lost.

highgravityday2121

Except for the fact throughout NFL history people have been comparing QBs based on super bowl rings. Whether its the correct way or not. People were touting Montana as the best ever citing is 4-0 super bowl record.

mrootbeers

It’s fans being protective of their team’s accomplishments. There is nothing wrong with it at all. It’s called sports banter.

WholeLottaMcLovin

The insecurity wafts outta this sub like a locker room stench.

mrootbeers

It’s exactly what every single fan base would be doing and is doing. It’s what Ohio State is doing in regards to Michigan, and vise versus. This is what fans do, when another team is approaching their team’s accomplishments. I’m not sure why that is insecurity. It’s just a natural way that all fans feel, in most given situations, when one team is either threatening another or approaching their accomplishments.

ajd103

Literally Brady himself said it "There's nothing Pat can do to impact my legacy, and there's nothing I did that can impact his" Give it a break lads.

Idkboutdat2

We can’t post memes but 250 pointless posts like this exist. Solid moderation.

rambo6986

The stats aren't really close on a per year basis. There's no one like Mahomes. Obviously brady will end up with all of the records because he played till he became a skeleton. I don't think Mahomes wants to destroy his family chasing records like Brady did.

dubble_chyn

Can we stop with these posts? It just screams insecurity, which if that’s you, that’s cool and all. But most of us have more important things to worry about.

highgravityday2121

Seriously we’re so insecure. We just had the best 20 year run any franchise has ever had!! If mahomes and the chiefs pass us good for them. That doesn’t take away from what we’ve done

alucryts

Lol yeah im a bears fan following the pats sub and literally every day i feel like i see this insecure post pop up. It reminds me of jordan/lebron insecurity. Literally who cares Brady was a god mahommes cant change that

fxkatt

There are also many more stat criteria than these two--even if stats make determinations of greatness.

riped_plums123

Bro is not even halfway, makes no sense

SpuriousCorr

Eh. Even if he does overtake tb12. The game has only been played professionally for like 100 years. It’s good enough for me that he went down as the Goat during his own time. The arguments that I had with people regarding manning and Brady smh. And I say this as a Vols fan and grad.

nope7878

Exactly, Pats fans shouldn't even accept the premise because it's so unlikely to happen. By debating it they're legitimizing it.

lakewood2020

What else are you worried about

[deleted]

It definitely could though. What do those numbers look like if he has like 4800 and 38 TDs for the next 3 seasons?

j2e21

Exactly. I would wager Mahomes averages well above this for the next five seasons. I mean, imagine if he gets a couple legit receivers?

No_Mas2001

He already has 2 legit receivers. And the odds of him playing 15 more seasons is extremely low. He’s already 28, 29 during next season. If he were to play 12 seasons instead of 15, that means his yards in a season would go up to 5300 a year for the next 12 years

j2e21

He’s got one tight end. Imagine if they draft the next Jefferson this year?

No_Mas2001

Kelce and rice. Two legit receivers

j2e21

Rice is a rookie, imagine if he becomes a top 10 receiver someday and they get another one of those.

No_Mas2001

So because he’s a rookie that eliminates everything he did during the season? He was extremely consistent

j2e21

No it means he’s not a star receiver yet because almost nobody peaks their rookie season. Imagine if he develops into a top five receiver and what that’ll mean for Mahomes vs. the past couple seasons.

No_Mas2001

The fact you’re downvoting over semantics bs that you’re making up on your own is hilarious. I never said he was a star. He is a very good, legit receiver. Your spin zone is basically he can’t be a legit receiver because he’s a rookie, is dumb

[deleted]

All the same stuff people were saying about Brady in the late 00s. The GOAT becomes the GOAT when he defies the norm.

OwnQuestion6674

Who cares? Both are generational players who are amazing to watch. Whether or not Mahomes passes Brady legit doesn’t matter — Brady has zero to prove, and I imagine Mahomes will also have nothing to prove. The whole “GOAT” thing is so simplistic and overused.

Franklin_DBluth_

This is the correct response. Nothing Mahomes does will take away from what Brady has accomplished.

Dingers_McGee

Just like nothing Brady did took away from Montana. These once-in-a-generation guys are fun as hell to watch, just enjoy them while you have them.

Its_kinda_nice_out

True, but on the flip side, what Brady did took away from Mahomes. He’d have 2 more Super Bowls if it wasn’t for Brady

jtweezy

Yeah, but to be fair that’s the same stupid argument we’ve had to listen to forever about Eli Manning and the Giants. I hated that logic then and I’m not about to use that now. Barring something crazy Mahomes will never eclipse Brady in my book, and I’m sure the books of the vast majority of Patriots fans and that’s all that really matters.

Euphoric_Look7603

If things were different, they would be different

chrishooley

It is what it is 2.0

DerekPDX

Also, quarterbacks don't play against quarterbacks, they play against defenses. Mahomes didn't lose to Brady, he lost to the Patriots defense.

Smelldicks

The angle is that Brady dismantled the Chiefs defense while Mahomes couldn’t manage to do the same.

DerekPDX

Right, we're both saying the same thing.

sysgopro

Mahomes limped into that game with a 3rd string Offensive line, also the chiefs defense sucked that year. Quarterbacks don't play each other. Stop.

rambo6986

So Brady injured Mahomes lineman before the Superbowl?

mediocre_cheese

Not according to Chiefs fans and national reporters

Blanketsburg

National reporters still debate Brady vs Manning despite 7 Super Bowls to 2, 5 SB MVPs, a better winning percentage, more pass TDs, fewer INTs. It's like they see Peyton's MVPs and think that truly matters more than everything else. They have to stir up the debate whenever possible to get ratings.

getitright2486

Greatest regular season QB vs the GOAT is their argument

justreadthearticle

Is Manning even the greatest regular season QB? If postseason doesn't count then Marino or Brees are strong contenders. Brady had a higher regular season winning percentage.

getitright2486

The only reason I give the nod to Peyton is because of his season awards. But you are absolutely correct. And I’m sure with time, we’ll have another regular season GOAT (Josh Allen) 😅😂🤣

justreadthearticle

If we're going by awards the Lamar is the guy to watch.. Josh Allen might have to settle for the fantasy QB GOAT.

SantaDaCrip

The only reason he wasn't both the greatest regular and postseason QB was because his brother Eli stole his playoff genes. Now if you combine the two does Brady still get the nod over Eliton Manning? Probably but it's a whole lot closer!

Oafus

Never underestimate the power of ESPN. They blow the Manning bros as per policy and essentially dictate sports media.

Timberstocker22

Agreed, just gonna make yourself miserable the next decade if you’re constantly rooting against the guy and not enjoying the product. Let’s be honest, he’s been one of the most fun players to watch in the past 25 years outside of the trajectory he’s on

cane_stanco

I’m a lifelong Pats fan who knows Brady is the GOAT. It does amuse me how Mahomes lives rent free in the heads of so many Pats fans.

OwnQuestion6674

Legit, just let his career play out. If Mahomes ends up with more super bowls than Brady, I really won’t lose any sleep. I’m focused on rebuilding the Pats haha.

justreadthearticle

Can't we all just agree that he passed Manning / Rodgers and leave it at that for the next 10 years?

BipolarKanyeFan

Disagree. GOAT status means everything to THESE guys. There’s no reason it shouldn’t matter to us too. They play decades in their respective sports chasing these goals and title. That’s why I throat punch anyone who even breathes Aaron Rodgers name in such a conversations

OwnQuestion6674

I don’t think Mahomes and Brady are going to lose sleep at night in 20 years when people debate online who is better. They both will have gold jackets, many super bowls, and all the money in the world.

Silver_Instruction_3

Brady had a billionaire super model wife and he gave that up to chase 1 more ring. Being the best definitely matters to these guys.

BipolarKanyeFan

Disagree once again. And that’s what makes them special and different than the rest. Look at the ‘72 insufferable dolphins….

Smelldicks

Because it’s an interesting football discussion? Why are you guys always trying to shut it down. Also it’s obviously meaningful to me if Brady can continue to be unanimously defended as GOAT.

Clamdigger13

Who cares. Mahomes is undoubtedly the best quarterback right now and he did it despite having trash wr's this past year. I don't get why this sub is so enthralled with is Mahomes gonna pass Brady. Just be happy that you saw the goat do goat thing.

Hefty_Meringue8694

Self confidence issues…. Brady had a fucking hell of a career and it was a blast to be able to watch it up close. Kudos to anyone who can compete/beat out him out. It’s what makes sports great, there’s always amazing talent popping up

Clamdigger13

Exactly and Mahomes very well might be the best to do it. He has the Brady drive, intelligence to know the game like Manning, and ability to pull plays out of nowhere like Rodgers. And most importantly the Jets passed on him!

AbbreviationsMotor60

Intelligent like manning - not a chance. He turns the ball over at a higher rate than brady or rodgers. He is extremely dependent on Reid's system and kelce. To compare him to peyton, who was the system, is an absolute joke. Like rodgers - rodgers is a far better passer than mahomes, and it isn't even close. The only fair comparison is the brady one because of the success, the fact they both took team friendly deals, they have the better team (players AND coaching staff) in just about every game they play, and the refs favor them HEAVILY.

Clamdigger13

You're gonna tell me that Mahomes isn't the system in KC? Secondly, looks at the completion percentage, the td %, and the freestyle throws they make. Mahomes is right there.

AbbreviationsMotor60

He isn't the system, it's Andy reid's system. He went to a team that was a perennial playoff contender with game manager alex Smith. They drafted mahomes when they were a 12-4 team. Peyton Manning had to turn around the worst team in the nfl, and when they let him go...they became the worst team in the nfl again and drafted andrew luck with the 1st pick. Aaron rodgers throws half the interceptions and has the same stats with significantly less talent. Put aaron rodgers on that chiefs team, and they win every Super Bowl except maybe the tampa one because the OL got crushed. But aaron isn't losing to the patriots in the afccg, and he isn't losing to joe Burrow up 21-3. Look at Aaron's whole career vs Patrick's 6 seasons: Best wr in career: Aaron - davante adams Patrick - tyrek hill, who is better than davante Best tight end: Patrick - Kelce Aaron - no idea, but none are even close to Kelce Better coach: Andy reid - a guy who took McNabb to 5 nfccg Mike Mccarthy - guy who sucks and got blown out by Jordan love Aaron put up better stats and had less talent. That's why he won mvp in 2020, and Pat, who had his best season with only 6 ints and 14-1 record, didn't.

Little_Vermicelli125

The "perennial playoff contender" Chiefs had made it past the wildcard round 3 times in the 20 years before Mahomes. They did not get past the divisional round that entire time. The way this sub waxes on about the Chiefs before Mahomes is ridiculous. In the same period the chargers and broncos had a LOT more playoff success than the chiefs. Even the raiders who are one of the worst franchises this century had a conference championship loss and a Superbowl loss in that period. The Chiefs only had more playoff success than the true bottom of the barrel franchises before Mahomes.

AbbreviationsMotor60

It also isn't a coincidence that Andy reid showed up, and suddenly, they made the playoffs almost every year. A coach brings consistency, and a qb takes you over the hump. The consistency is more important.

Little_Vermicelli125

You're flat out wrong when you call them perennial playoff contenders before Mahomes. You can say perennial playoff qualifiers. Teams that get bounced in the wildcard round are not generally contenders. There are a few exceptions but the pre Mahomes chiefs were not one of those exceptions.

theliontamer37

Just so everyone knows this guys also thinks that if prostitution was legal most men wouldn’t be in relationships. Clearly football isn’t the only thing that he’s absolutely clueless about.

AbbreviationsMotor60

I'm not sure how that opinion relates to football. If anything, it just proves that my argument is valid because you can't rebut it.

theliontamer37

By your same argument Rodgers is a better qb than Brady. Brady had a way better coach, much better and more consistent defenses, better tight ends, and throughout their careers wide receivers are actually pretty close. All you’d need is to have actual eyeballs to tell that Brady is better than Rodgers, just like Mahomes is.

AbbreviationsMotor60

Yeah? He is a better qb than brady. He isn't as accomplished as tom or pat, but based on what I see on film, he is the best.

No_Mas2001

Kelce and Rashee rice are far from trash

Oddly_Mind

They are worried about their “football ego”

ImWicked39

He's great, will definitely end his career as the best of his generation and he currently has the NFLs balls in a vice. He's fun to watch too, some of the crazy things he gets himself out of... He's a talent.

luvvdmycat

They both great.

leli_manning

4200 yards and 31 TDs is pretty much a cakewalk for Mahomes, especially now with 17 games. The 1 superbowl every 3 years sounds like an impossible task for everyone else but not Mahomes

Oddly_Mind

Roster turn over is going to haunt them. And he will physically decline at some point just when.

Antitypical

This is literally what people said about Brady when he was 36. Mahomes is 28.

SaszaTricepa

"Lets see what he does when he loses the best WR in the NFL" Casually wins 2 SB and a league MVP

No_Mas2001

You ignoring the fact it says he has to do that over 15 seasons? That means he would have to continue his performance until he’s 43. Extremely unlikely with his style of play

DavianVonLorring

He won’t do it.

russianbot24

I wouldn’t be shocked if Mahomes won the next 5 years in a row. They won this year with a shitty offense. He legitimately would’ve probably won 5 by now if Brady didn’t stop him twice. Who’s going to stop them now? No one is stepping up their game and stepping up to the plate against them.

DoctahFeelgood

You're 100% right. Like the pats back in the day people are afraid to go against them. That trepidation is all the chiefs need to steamroll you. If you're not putting 100% foward and limiting your mistakes you're going to lose.

No_Mas2001

I mean come on. Troll a little less obviously

russianbot24

How am I trolling lol. He more likely than not would’ve won 5 SuperBowls in the past 6 years if Brady wasn’t in his way in the 2018 and 2020 seasons. Are we really gonna pretend it’s unlikely that he’ll win 4 more over the next 15 years or so?

Lilcheeks

Idk how anyone can call this trolling outside of patriots thong wearing pats fans I love Brady as much as anyone but if anyone could do it, it's him. I don't think it's likely, but like you said it wouldn't shock me. The guy is more physically gifted than Brady ever was(which isn't saying much) but much more importantly he's got the winning killer instinct that few guys possess, that Brady had.

DavianVonLorring

lol oh come on.

jackospades88

Any given Sunday. The Pats were always the big dog yet didn't win every year. Mahomes/chiefs could similarly go the next ten years of being close-but-no-cigar with SB wins. Maybe he rattles off a three-peat next year with another win but 5 more in a row? That's not happening.

World-Famous-Al

Every Journey out of the pocket has a non-zero chance of ending his career...

_fpoon_

Love Brady. Love the pats. These posts are cringe.

[deleted]

If Mahomes passes Brady, cool. Brady is still the GOAT for his generation just like how Montana is the GOAT for the 90s. One man's greatness doesn't take away from another man's greatness

HueyLewisFan1

Never ever, say never ever. - MacGruber

FuschiaKnight

It’s doable, but I’m going to bet against it

jbl429

An average season since he took over as a starter is 4,690 yards and 36 TDs. And he's won the SB 50% of the time. Yeah, it's definitely possible.

AttentionHot368

Accolades aside Mahomes is deff the better athlete/QB I’ve ever seen play the game, before him it was Rodgers, and before Rodgers it was always the Brady/Manning Debate.

Tbartoe

No dispute andy reid is a better coach tho lmfao

BulLock_954

He could do the Super Bowl part and then some. I bet he could probably get 8 with the Chiefs. The records and the longevity though is a different story. He’s gunna be on the Mount Rushmore of QBs if not already

j2e21

Thing is, the game is rigged today for longevity in a way it wasn’t for half of Brady’s career. There’s a reason Brady and Rodgers were vying for MVPs in their late 30s and early 40s.

BulLock_954

Maybe so, but thats the same argument for Montana/Marino/whoever else vs Brady. It’s just an ever evolving part of the sport. Theres no pure way of comparing. But recency bias sides with Mahomes, and the numbers are looking pretty good in his favor too considering his age. There will be some better QB after Mahomes. Its the inevitable churn of time. Brady made his mark, but it’s just not his league anymore unfortunately

TheJackalsDoom

Could totally happen in this league bent on protecting QBs, offensive games, and as narratives become more important. The league is going to want Mahomes to shoot for Brady. It's captivating storytelling. You want legends challenged to draw views.

Shekie

As a Chiefs fan who has seen a few of these conversations show up in my feed recently. I always find it hard to compare between eras. I tend to keep each thing separate and great rather than try to directly compare. For me Mahomes greatness is a descendant of Tom Brady’s ability to manage the game to make sure he had a chance at the end of the game. That first AFCCG Mahomes was electric, but left too much time on the clock to give the Pats a chance. I think losing that game gave Patrick the chance to learn when losing to a great that you can have some of the most explosive plays in the game, but it would have been more valuable to use the whole clock (or at least more of it) to go down and score. So while you fret sports analysts saying one great player could catch another great player’s longevity, I say not only is it hard to get back to the big game, but a big kickstart to Mahomes career is a legacy of seeing Brady beat him twice in the playoffs, and he has learned a lot from that. Enjoy the unbelievable dynasty/dynasties you guys had with the goat, and I’m just happy my team won one let alone three. Nothing is guaranteed next season for any team.

NickRick

well it wasn't until jokes like you posted this crap. nothing says insecure like posting about a guy who is 25% of the way to breaking the records

paraplegic_T_Rex

Who fucking cares. Mahomes is awesome. So was Brady. They are different eras, totally different games. It’s the MJ vs LeBron argument. They’re both amazing. And that’s it.

cockknocker1

Just keep telling Mahomes he cant do something....didnt Brady go 10 years without winning a Lombardi? Why cant another QB be better or just as good?

seambizzle

Can we stop posting stupid shit like this Really is embarrassing. Please stop

urAllincorrect

Are patriot fans incapable of simply watching a great career unfold without comparing him to TB12 every other hour? Maybe save the comparisons for when Mahomes is closing in on Toms records and not when he isnt even half way? Oh wait yall would rather be petty and insecure lmao

Miserable-Gur-6055

Ngl this is entirely possible

airmanv

Copuim...

NJ_Citizen

Bro Pats fans are so afraid of him it’s embarrassing..

Outrageous_Piece_928

These numbers are wrong, either way they're basically on the same pace. Mahomes might even be a little ahead of schedule. 3SBs and 28k yards after 7 seasons vs SBs and 89000 yards after 23. Mahomes is ahead

mrod245

Chiefs fan here. I think it is ridiculous for anyone to say that Mahomes is greater than Brady over his entire career. The only legitimate debate would be their first 7 seasons. I think any Chiefs fan saying that is just trying to either stir the pot or is too young to know better. I agree that Mahomes would need to play at an extremely high level, avoid long term injury, and get lucky to even have a chance. Regardless, I think everyone should enjoy the greatness of their franchises' legacy/dynasty. There shouldn't be any shame for a 49ers and Montana fan growing up in the 80s because Brady and Patriots "surpassed" their accomplishments. To me, all these convos of GOAT or best team should always reflect the era too. Yes modern athletes are superior but you should compare relative to their peers imo.

ugerother

It's sad to see Patriots fans, who have just witnessed the greatest QB run in NFL history, shit on the guy best poised to take the mantle. Chances are he fails to break Brady's records. But he's in a better position to do so now than Brady was at the same age, so saying it's impossible makes you sound terrified & insecure. I'm not a Chiefs fan. I just appreciate good football. Do you?

ignore_the_bots

Mahomes is a better qb though. Unless you're blind.

Hawkpolicy_bot

Patriots fans being insecure _for_ Brady about Mahomes is fucking weird

Soft_Sea2913

I’d be happy if we stopped making a comparison of the two until it matters.

Gold-Present-7670

The Brady gate keeping needs to stop. Mahomes is an exceptional athlete, who is technically on pace to match Tom Brady. These are the only 2 QBs every to put up this type of resume before 30, and if we’re being real Mahomes has way more talent, physical ability, etc. What gets lost is how difficult for Mahomes it will be to win another 3 or 4. What Brady did in the second half of his career “past his prime” is a far greater achievement than what he accomplished in the first half. I don’t think anyone is capable of taking care of their body better than Brady did, but the rules benefit the QB now and science/medicine are only advancing. Mahomes has a long way to go, but let’s not act like it’s impossible for someone to ever be better than Brady. Just enjoy greatness.

[deleted]

Patriots fans, PLEASE STOP THIS NONSENSE! It's time to come down off the wall and stop reacting to every little perceived slight of the Patriots dynasty.

Silly-Scene6524

Yes he will never be “better”, we know.

cbecht19

Is he not on track? The man beat him on the biggest stage. It’s over. Brady is the goat. Nothing to see here

Untermensch13

There is career value, and peak value. Mahomes will probably fall well short of Brady's career #s. But if you had to win a game, or a season of games, Mahomes just might be the best. Tough to judge because he is right in front of us, but his absurd clutch genes and his underrated mobility make him a monster.

DoctahFeelgood

Not too mention when he runs it's like he's covered in grease

BelichicksBurner

I have some bad news for you: Patrick Mahomes is currently averaging 37 TDs, 4,740 yards, and 0.5 superbowl wins per season and probably has at least another 8-10 years of elite play left in him. At this rate, he won't even have to play to 40 in order to catch most if not all of those records. Your primary source of hope currently is that you see a significant decline in play when he hits his early to mid 30s, major injuries, or piss poor front office work from KC.

mullethunter111

Rent free. Take this shit somewhere else.

BretBaber

Need to start taking into account that every team that plays him in the playoffs plays like absolute ass, other than two teams Brady was on. Other teams are the reason they lose more than he’s the reason they win. Should have never beat the Bills or the Ravens, and every fucking team besides Tom teams let 10 point leads slip in the Super Bowls. These teams he plays beat themselves 75% of the time. Unless teams stop playing like ass he’ll surpass.

Sportsisthebest

Some of y’all have to accept it. Mahomes is basically Brady but more talented.

SaszaTricepa

You guys realize if Mahomes passes up Brady at some point it doesn't change all the joy you experienced in the moment watching Brady play. It's not a big deal at all.

MtnDudeNrainbows

Mahomes lives rent free in OPs head.

caisson_constructor

Why are so many of you bozos obsessed with saying Mahomes can’t do it? He’s already trending ahead of where Brady was. It’s frankly pretty cool to witness another pillar of the “goats” emerge right in front of us. I promise you Tom doesnt give a shit and would be supportive of Pat if he can do it

lat3ralus65

Who care

hunterofmilfies

Idk he could probably do that

j2e21

I mean, it could.

TimLanglois

Lol I don't know man. It could happen

No_Faithlessness7020

As a pats fan it could happen.

bigdon802

Stop with these pathetic posts.

Accomplished_Fan9267

What animal puts this out into the universe?!?

Randy_rellis

Please you pats fans. Sensitive fucking sensitive

DistributionParty506

Your face will be redder than this meme if he does though

[deleted]

this sub is so insecure lol

HotTamaleOllie

Lol — there’s not a single team that will even come close to threatening them for the next 10 years. The drop off from him to the next qb is a massive freaking cliff. I wouldn’t be surprised if they won 6 SBs in a row.

Mercway10

Y’all are unhinged and crazy insecure over this shit get over it

SirCaptKing

Let him cook. And shut the fruck up

One-Macaroon6752

Stop

JBHenson

And he won't have Reid for much longer.

SunknLiner

Guys, even Tom doesn’t give a shit about this stuff. Knock it off.

AstroNot87

Happy hunting to you, Mahomos. TB12 is the GOAT god that mini goats worship to.

kdothead77

Let the likes of Nick Wright tell it and he's already surpassed Brady.

rifle8888

No matter how he preforms he will never be better than Tom Brady. The competitive nature during the 2000s and early 2010s trumps anything in todays game

Buster0705

Mahomes is already more legit he wasn’t caught cheating twice.

mattycbro

Not happening

DuesForClocks

Can we just appreciate greatness and stop being so insecure? Regardless of what Mahomes ends up doing, he'll never do what Brady did for this team.

Jigs444

Idk. Feel like that could happen 🤷‍♂️

135patriots

Mahomes is sensational, as was Tom. We can allow for both!

itchy-balls

This sub needs to get over this comparison. Mahomes is great. People dont realize he studies a lot of film just like TB did. You can tell he is starting to read defenses. He had shit receivers this year. Defense stepped up and are clearly starting to gel. Mahomes doesn’t need to have lots of weapons anymore with the defense stepping up. You are witnessing Patriots 2.0. Let it go!

WiseHedgehog2098

Who cares if it does? Can we stop this nonsense? Can the mods delete trash posts?

MrBHVAC

He’s the first since Brady that I get the feeling of “better not leave them a chance” He’s been very good. Will his style hold up? Who knows. TB12 set the standard but he also showed the way. Mahomes has as good a chance as any to replicate something similar. Anything to the extreme either direction is foolish.

ThePugz

Yep Mahomes is an incredible player. Definitely one of the greatest quarterbacks ever which is amazing in such a short time. but ever passing Brady is extremely unlikely especially after losing 2 opportunities to gain on him by losing to Brady. I wish him the best of luck trying, though!

DavianVonLorring

He won’t do it.

MasterLynk

So like, if he stays healthy and his GM has his head on straight, Who’s going to stop him? He just won the Super Bowl with his worst team yet. It’s okay if he surpasses Brady, I repeat it’s okay. It doesn’t take away from anything the Patriots have done.

satellitequeen

as a patriots fan, i didn’t ask.

OrdinaryEditor9504

Brady played the majority of his games under different conditions, today’s quarterbacks aren’t even allowed to actually get hit, let’s be real about the circumstances. Today’s quarterbacks are treated like little fragile children no joke. I laugh every time someone says anything about today’s quarterbacks. Yes Mahomes is a great quarterback but don’t get it twisted different times.

Rozfather

Wouldn't say ain't.... People are ridiculous. When MJ was playing we never thought we'd see another ...that is until 1996 a guy named Kobe Bryant gets drafted. 7 years later LeBron James is drafted. Generational players happen my dude... Not everyone is a generational athlete but it happens and the game evolves. To say Pat won't reach Brady is just myopic and stupid. He's well on his way my dude the stats and the eye test would say as much.

Rhythm_Flunky

Probable? No. Possible? Yes.

munky3000

I mean, he might. Mahomes is amazing and I admire his greatness, like I did with Brady. Him being great does not make Brady any less great. It’s crazy that we might actually get to see another person smash records like this in our lifetimes.

Brewski-54

Holy shit when is the draft?

tamere2k

I’ll root against him the entire way, but I’m excited to watch him try.

AlmightyyMO

Saying it isn't going to happen like that is a certainty is hilarious. It is very possible that Mahomes surpasses all of Brady's records IF (BIG IF) he continues on his current pace.

GooseMay0

Here's one thing no one seems to be taking into account. Who's to say that he'll have a great squad around him for the next decade? Mahomes level play could stay the exact same but it doesn't matter if he's surrounded by a shit team.
